Disregard of history is a folly which cannot be ignored without dire consequences. Rightly or wrongly the old adage suggests "History repeats itself." Ignorance of history then becomes a blight that threatens the foundations of a people, an institution or an organization. The Church and her missions are not exempt, particularly those in the Third World today. In a day when social changes occur rapidly, attacks on the historical ethos mount with threatening crescendo. "Theology" is one of those words generally neglected by the Christian layman. Theology seems a distant and nebulous discipline which is restricted solely to the somber halls of the seminary. The objective of this thesis is to develop a defini­tion of Biblical perfection so as to clarify its nature and attainability in Christian experience. The study is designed with three facets in view: (1) the nature of Biblical perfection, (2) the attainability of Biblical perfection , and (3) a theological synthesis.
