In an article published in Nature titled “ChatGPT listed as author in research papers” Stone-Walker (2023) shocks the academic community with the fact that GenAI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini have gained a substantive role in the production of knowledge and academic writing. He reports that one research company has published 80 articles produced by GenAI in academic journals.  In the wake of Stone-Walker’s article, many publishers and journal editors set guidelines in relations to the role of GenAI in academic writings. At the end of the interview, Boakye explains what he wants for Kwasi Paul in the future, both in the Bronx and in the fashion industry. For the Bronx, he wants it to represent Ghanaian fashion, something Ghanaians in the Bronx can be proud of. He wants the Bronx to be seen as something better, not a “dirty” borough, as stereotypes would have it. For fashion, he wants to be another lens of living with in-between identities, for everyone who falls into these categories of multiple identities, especially for people in New York City.

He encapsulates the Bronx as “The …

A Preliminary Volume In Progress: Interférences Linguistiques Et Culturelles Françaises En Afrique (French Linguistic And Cultural Interferences In Africa), Flavia Aiello, Maria Centrella, Anna Maria Di Tolla, Sarah N. Pinto Jan 2026

A Preliminary Volume In Progress: Interférences Linguistiques Et Culturelles Françaises En Afrique (French Linguistic And Cultural Interferences In Africa), Flavia Aiello, Maria Centrella, Anna Maria Di Tolla, Sarah N. Pinto

Faits de Langue et Société (FLS)

Drawn from the International Study Days held at the University of Naples L’Orientale (11–13 November 2021), Interférences linguistiques et culturelles françaises en Afrique brings together contributions that examine French in contact with African languages and cultures, from the Maghreb to Sub-Saharan Africa. Rather than offering a simple assessment of the “vitality” of French, the volume foregrounds interference phenomena and everyday practices (code-switching, lexical borrowing, and lexical innovation), alongside social representations and educational and media-related stakes. It therefore provides an interdisciplinary perspective on multilingual dynamics and processes of appropriation at the heart of contemporary African societies.
