The last twenty-seven chapters of Isaiah have been selected since they form a unified section designated by many scholars the so-called Second Isaiah. This essay by no means intends to deal with all the Arabic cognates of Hebrew vocables in this division. It only seeks those cognates which may shed additional light on the Hebrew, especially the Hebrew words which are of rare occurrence in the Old Testament.

Concept is used to indicate thought or opinion or view. Sanctification is used in the narrow sense to mean the conduct of the Christian life or holiness of living which follows justification. This concept of sanctification will be limited to its doctrinal content and characteristics with a survey of influences which affected it in one way or another. As a way of' attaining knowledge and of developing man’s latent powers, Anthroposophy has some direct bearing on the Christian message. A Bachelor of Divinity thesis on the movement seems quite relevant, therefore. This thesis examines the life and teaching of Rudolf Steiner and the Anthroposophic movement which he started. It is an attempt to get a broad overview of Anthroposophy rather than concentrating on any one of its phases. It is an exploratory study of a preliminary nature, and in no measure does it try to be definitive on any part of the movement.

This study endeavors to make visible the darkness permeating Masonry’s ethical teachings and to expose them what they really are—antichristian. The author attempts to lay bare the antichristian ethics of Freemasonry by comparing them with the Christian ethics. At the same time this study will, it is hoped, help the reader to discover and to realize the great gulf that separates the ethics of American Freemasonry from those of Christianity.

This study is occasioned by the fact that the fourth chapter of the treatise “De Unitate Ecclesias,” written by the Bishop of Carthage, St. Cyprian, about 251 A.D., has come down in two quite different forms. One version apparently bases the unity of the Church in explicit terms on the primacy of Peter over and above the authority of other bishops, while the other version speaks in more cautious and general terms of Peter as a symbol of unity and power in which all bishops share equally.

This is an anniversary year for the Lutheran Church. The Augsburg Confession, the foremost of our Lutheran symbols, came into existence 425 years ago. Prepared by Melanchthon and approved by Luther, it was read in German at the Diet of Augsburg on June 25, 1530. Copies of the German and Latin text were presented to Emperor Charles V. This 1530 version, known as the "unaltered" Augsburg Confession, has since that memorable day been the touchstone of what constitutes Lutheranism. The problem of the existence of a devil is important, since it relates to other beliefs which a person or his religion may uphold. The orthodox Christian concepts of the divinity of Christ, the Fall of man, the Atonement, and the inspiration of the Bible are altered when a belief in Satan is discarded.

The Lutheran Confessions are basically doxological in their treatment of the Holy Trinity, as they sound forth a hymn of praise to the grace and mercy of the Triune God. The theme of their exultant song is Soli deo gloria! But the God to whom alone shall be all glory is the Triune God: the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost - three distinct Persons in one divine Essence. Measuring the space which the Confessions devote to the various doctrines which they profess, one might think otherwise.
