Chez Henri is a redesigned version of a cookbook that Bonnie Henry, my grandmother, has curated over the past 50 years. The original book was entitled “A Collection of Recipes From Friends and Family”, but I decided to rename it to “Chez Henri”, a phrase that was written on a sign outside of her home for almost 20 years. Bonnie Henry is an excellent cook and her recipes include many salads, soups, entrees, and dishes that most people don’t see everyday. The end result of the project is a fully re-branded company with a cohesive brand image that supports the company’s products, mission, and vision.

This paper will briefly discuss the origins of photography, photojournalism, Joseph Pulitzer and his involvement with the arts. Then we will explore why it is important to study visuals, visual rhetoric, and what “poignant presence” is as related to three recent Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, all from the Breaking News Category and featuring combat in war.

In today’s society there are photos everywhere; they are in magazines, advertisements, newspapers, and books because photos make the text or the story stand out. Some may not know it, but most of these photos have been edited and retouched. This research paper attempted to determine the majority opinion of what types of photo editing was above the tolerable limit, as well as the public awareness of media manipulation. The different levels of photo editing included changing the contrast, removal of blemishes and dust, addition/removal of objects, and addition/removal of main subjects.
