Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host the New York Classical Players (NYCP) on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. as part of its first-ever Arkansas tour. The chamber music concert, which will feature the string quartet from the NYCP, is free and open to the public and will be held in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall.

Ouachita Baptist University’s Wind Ensemble will present its spring concert on Tuesday, March 7. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center on the Ouachita campus. It is free and open to the public.

“The Wind Ensemble is the premier instrumental ensemble at OBU and the concert will feature outstanding wind and percussion music,” said Dr. Craig Hamilton, Ouachita’s Lena Goodwin Trimble Professor of Music and director of bands.

Ouachita To Host Pianist Cole Burger In Concert March 2, Haley Wilkerson, Ouachita News Bureau

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host pianist Dr. Cole Burger in concert on Thursday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center. The recital, which is part of Ouachita’s Guest Artist Series, is free and open to the public.

Burger is an instructor in the College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University, where he teaches and coordinates class piano and piano pedagogy. He holds degrees in piano performance and economics from Northwestern University and the University of Texas.

Francis McBeth Recital Hall on the Ouachita campus. It will feature world percussion and hand drums from around the globe.
