Analysis Of Public School Music Curricula Of The State Teachers Colleges In The United States, Louise Jackson Funk
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
There is very little literature pertaining to the Public School Music curriculas of the state teachers colleges in the United States.
Various questions, however, have arisen in each institution relative to the required music courses and to the number of hours that should be required of a public school music major. Stephen Collins Foster & His Folk-Songs, Mary Chisholm
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
Every American knows some of Stephen Collins Foster's songs, but not everyone who sings My Old Kentucky Home and Old Folks at Home realizes that it was he who wrote those songs. Finding the source material on the music of Mexico for the most part, fragmentary and scattered, the writer decided to do serious research in translating from the early Spanish writers, and in reading the chronicles of the travelers of that early period, as well as the historical writings and the legendary lore …

Graduate Thesis Collection
It is the purpose of this thesis to investigate materials which have a place in the development of supervision as it concerns the special subject of music in the curricula of the public schools. Special attention has been given to the investigation of the training in supervision as given by schools, colleges, and universities in the hope that these institutions may better adapt their curricula to meet the needs of the modern music supervisor.
