We misquote with deliberation, thinking our rearrangement of Pope's line no less true to human nature and considerably more cheerful, whereupon we ask ourselves whether our springtime mood borrows any color from the contents of this April issue of THE MIDWEST QUARTERLY. RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspapers, Montage. The issue of March 23, 1973 includes an interview with Dean of the College Donald Lay, an article on COLAB 4, along with the comic "Ku-Pon the Killer" by Ireland, the comic "Sleuth of Space" by H. Kook, classifieds, a shrimp sandwich recipe, and other event notices and announcements.

The March 16, 1973 issue had articles on a visit to the Providence College student activities director, Father McKeon, and a talk by Franics Rogers of Hallmark Cards on how to prepare a portfolio. There was a short article mentioning that the BFA in Teacher Education is being phased out for the 1973-1974 school year at RISD. Comics, drawings, a recipe and events for RISD students were also mentioned.

Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

The Huntsville Literary Association was founded in 1967 to provide a community for writers, readers, and artists through workshops, readings, and educational programs. One of their key contributions is the literary magazine titled POEM which showcases original writings from both established and emerging writers. This issue highlights the work of Turner Cassity and Hope Mirrlees.

RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspapers, Montage. The issue of February 23, 1973 includes an interview of Associate Dean Merlin Szosz, articles on the Carr House coffee house and an exhibition of photographs of New Orleans prostitutes, comics and illustrations, classifieds, and a shrimp and avocado salad recipe from "Mrs. Dealy's Kitchen."
