RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspapers, Montage. The issue of October 1, 1976 includes articles on the RISD Museum, a Trinity Square Playhouse production of "A Flea in Her Ear," new aluminum siding on Allen House, the Brown Gay Men's Lib group, the sailing team, and a revised student charter, along with the comic "Space Freaks" by Ian Tetrault and an events calendar.

It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

The Huntsville Literary Association was founded in 1967 to provide a community for writers, readers, and artists through workshops, readings, and educational programs. One of their key contributions is the literary magazine titled POEM which showcases original writings from both established and emerging writers. This issue highlights the work of Pat Lamorte.

The Midwest Quarterly: A Journal of Contemporary Thought
IN THIS JULY, 1976 ISSUE of The Midwest Quarterly, we celebrate the Bicentennial of the American Revolution by devoting our space entirely to American literature.
EUGENE CURRENT-GARCIA, who traces the beginnings of American short fiction in our early magazines, teaches at Auburn University, where he edits the Southern Humanities Review. He is the author of the volume on O. Henry for the Twayne series and has co-edited four anthologies of short fiction. Many of his published articles deal with American fiction.
