Wishing to help us see what his words suggest, the poet struggles to give expression to images. W. S. Merwin, explains MARK CHRISTHILF, makes use of the work of Paul Cézanne and Henri Matisse, among other painters, in bringing to his readers an understanding of what Merwin's generous eye beheld. Poet and critic, Christhilf teaches English at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. He has poetry in Karamu, and is writing a book entitled, W. S. Merwin the Mythmaker.

The Troubadour Poets: Their Influence On Their Times, Georgia M. Jarrell
The Troubadour Poets: Their Influence On Their Times, Georgia M. Jarrell
Institute for the Humanities Theses

The troubadours were truly mirrors of …

The landscape of most of my poems in this …

This Blood In All Of Us, Dorothy Roberta Tobe
English Theses & Dissertations
The payment for my mortality is love and this contract ties in heavily with the poems of This Blood in All of Us. The Ohio poems attempt to make sense of a changing landscape and its people. The persona of the poems changes as she grows from a "Big …
