The world recognizes Toyohiko Kagawa as the St. Francis of Japan. His heart is one of pure love like that of St. Francis, but his battle has not been carried on by means of the sermon in a religious denomination. With a heart of love Kagawa has stood in the streets and would save the lives of the people. This is because he was born in 20th century Japan and not in Italy of the Middle Ages.

The 1935 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by A. G. Sargeant. The report on Mills Home provided an overview of the Baptist Orphanage of North Carolina's 50 year history. An associational Deacon's Day meeting was held at Double Springs Church. The Boiling Springs Junior College report recommends that a permanent committee should be established to promote the interests of the College. In this article, John M. Oesterreicher protests in the name of justice, the Spirit, the Gospel and the Church against the anti-Jewish Nuremberg Laws, which had been promulgated one month earlier by the Third Reich in September 1935.
It is a turning point for the Die Erfüllung (The Fulfillment), the journal John M. Oesterreicher founded, which had previously avoided addressing political events. As Oesterreicher noted:
