The 1955 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Zion Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, and New Prospect Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The missionary sermon was given by John E. Lawrence. The Women's Ministry Union reported the adddition of Chairman of Prayer and Chairman of Missionary Fundamentals. The Foreign Mission report announced the number of foreign misionaries to be at 1,000 for the first time. The General Board reported that W.V. Tarlton took over as chairman of Evangelism.
