The 1956 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, Polkville Baptist Church in Polkville, NC, and Shelby Eastside Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The missionary sermon was given by Oscar Funderburke. The report on the Baptist Student Union provided important information about the union as well as ways one could help support it. Experience has shown that it is not easy to resolve differences within or between groups when misunderstandings are nurtured on dogmatic assertions.
