"Heart" (Kardia) In The Doctrine Of Soteriology, Clyde James Zehr

The problem under consideration was an investigation of the doctrine of soteriology set forth by conservative evangelical theologians in the light of the New Testament usage of the term "heart" (kardia). The term "heart" (kardia) is a prominent word in the New Testament, especially in the areas referring specifically to sin and salvation from sin. Any doctrine of salvation from sin will, therefore, be greatly influenced and affected by the interpretation placed upon the New Testament writers' meaning of this word. Mathematicians state that for one to comprehend the Einstein theory of relativity a good knowledge of mathematics and mathematical symbols is necessary. It is impossible to put into words many of the thought and concepts expressed, but Einstein communicated through the use of certain symbols and formulas. When a student in any field begins his study he is soon aware that the amount of mastery he will gain in the area will depend upon his grasp and comprehension of the terminology peculiar to that field of study. The 1963 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at New Hope baptist Church in Earl, NC. Lawrence Roberts was recognized for his service as Clerk-Treasurer of the Kings Mountain Association as he retired. The Home Mission Board reported continued efforts in Cuba. Gardner-Webb College reported the sad loss of J.R. Dover, Jr. The Baptist Children's Homes added a specialized facility at Chapel Hill for children suffering from mental illnesses. The Woman's Missionary Union celebrated its 75th anniversary.
