From the first time I held a game controller, video games have been a fundamental part of my life. They started as simple, pixel-filled adventures on early consoles and have grown into the vast, immersive worlds we explore on today’s advanced systems. For me, they’ve always been more than just a way to pass the time; they’ve been gateways to alternate realities where creativity, interaction, and storytelling seamlessly come together. A brief introduction to Valorant to new ears and eyes is that Valorant is a video game and what I will be calling a media that was released by Riot Games in 2020, Valorant is a tactical FPS (first person shooter) game that blends strategic gameplay with an immersive sci-fi narrative. The setting of the game takes place in a world destabilized by the mysterious "First Light" event which gives these agents called Radiants their powers and abilities. Introducing the concepts of d-ecocinema and d-ecocinema criticism, Monani expands the purview of ecocinema studies and not only brings attention to a thriving Indigenous cinema archive but also argues for a methodological approach that ushers Indigenous intellectual voices front and center in how we theorize this archive. Its case-study focus on Canada, particularly the work emanating from the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto--a nationally and internationally recognized hub in Indigenous cinema networks--provides insights into pan-Indigenous and Nation-specific contexts of Indigenous ecocinema.

This work investigates the benefits of interactive narratives in conjunction with flow state immersion for individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. A specific focus is placed on narratives that contain dark or horror-based themes. In addition, the importance of selfauthorship, representation, and empowerment are explored. Accompanying the examination of flow state, concepts such as challenge, failure, and the motivation to succeed at challenging tasks are analyzed. This work also includes a survey pertaining to user preferences regarding media and genre preferences. Virtual Production (VP) blends both the game and film industries with the use of Unreal Engine. This thesis explores how Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) bridges the gap between these fields, providing powerful tools for both film projects and immersive experiences. The research examines UE5's capabilities, including real-time rendering, photorealistic environments, and immersive set design, and demonstrates how game and film production workflows intersect. This study focuses on three case studies highlighting how VP tools can be used in district ways: immersive gameplay, film production, and creating engaging video game trailers. This paper discusses creating an action figure of Alexander the Great as a means of garnering a child’s interest in a specific setting of human history. Physical mediums have merit as supplemental tools for traditional learning methods for children, with action figures providing an outlet for role-playing and enhanced engagement. Topics include the significance of Alexander the Great, as well as the process of creating an action figure of him using production methods of digital character sculpting and 3D printing. Its design takes inspiration from the Street Fighter series, Classical and Hellenistic Greek sculpture, and professional wrestling action figures.
