This is the second volume in the series describing the results of 11 excavation campaigns at Tel Bet Yeraḥ over some 50 years (1933–1986). The first volume (IAA Reports 30) presented the stratigraphic framework and the Early Bronze Age pottery. This second volume comprises a companion to Volume I, presenting synthetic discussions of the excavations and finds, and the publication of further Early Bronze Age artifact assemblages, including flint, stone and other small finds.

His tenure as Prime Minister had been tense, partly due to the ongoing question of a replacement airfield for the U.S. Marines in Futenma. This corridor plan was jointly commissioned by the Village of Berrien Springs and Oronoko Charter Township in response to the 2013 findings of the M-139 Corridor Improvement Taskforce. The twelve appointed members of this taskforce included Village and Township officials as well as a range of private property owners and citizens.

The purpose of this study was to examine how academic deans perceived the characteristics of facility built environment and its impact on learning in higher education. Q methodology was used as the means to explore the subjective opinions of academic deans within the State of Florida regarding the facility built environment’s impact on learning in higher education. For this Q study, the concourse statements were the result of communications taken from the subject literature and participant responses to this study’s online concourse questionnaire. This study investigates whether tax appraised values of commercial office buildings in major Texas cities are influenced by ENERGY STAR (ES) rating. Per square foot (PSF) tax appraised value of property improvements and certification ratings are used to determine whether higher levels ES rating (a numerical grade from 75 to 100) increase tax appraised values in the five most populated Texas cities - Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.Quantitative data on ES buildings in each selected city is obtained through the EPA and county tax assessor online resources. By examining first hand accounts of parties that family members threw, houses that they built, and places they traveled to, the paper develops its thesis. In their 30-year history in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, Lao immigrants have continually reasserted their identity through various social, economic, and cultural modes connected to a set of embedded relationsor ecologies. A unique set of adapted spatial typologies that reinforced Lao village culture and social networks on multiple scales emerge from the translation of the ecologies. Mappings, diagrams, and photomontages help reveal these settlement patterns and adaptations of space and building types. Non-English speaking workers constitute a disproportionately high number of workers involved in postdisaster reconstruction. Additionally, the rate of fatality among these workers is higher than the industry average. Research shows this population is more prone to unsafe behaviors in the working environment, conceivably because many of these workers are sent into the field prior to any formalized training. Recent studies show that the native culture of construction workers can impact risk-taking behavior. A precast concrete floor system that eliminates the need for column corbels and beam ledges while being very shallow. The main advantages of the present system include a span to-depth ratio of 30, a flat soffit, economy, consistency with prevailing erection techniques, and fire and corrosion protection. The present system consists of continuous precast columns, prestressed rectangular beams, hollow-core planks, and cast-in-place composite topping. Testing results have indicated that a 12 inch deep flat soffit precast floor system has adequate capacity to carry gravity loads (including 100 psf live load) in a 30 ft x 30 ft bay size. Testing …

In most cases, analysis to determine component demands for seismic design of concrete buildings employs linear elastic models in which reduced, effective component stiffnesses are used. This document i) reviews the recommendations for defining the effective flexural, shear and axial stiffness of concrete walls that are included in current design codes, standards and guidelines and ii) compares these recommendations with stiffness expressions derived directly from experimental data by the authors and others. Nonplanar wall configurations are prevalent in engineering practice, yet relatively little research has addressed nonplanar walls and the earthquake response of these components remains poorly understood. A recent experimental test program conducted by the authors investigated the earthquake response of modern, ACI Code compliant C‐shaped walls subjected to unidirectional and bidirectional lateral loading.
