A General Correction For Spontaneous Potential Well Logs In Fresh Water, Cary L. Mcconnell Jun 1988

A General Correction For Spontaneous Potential Well Logs In Fresh Water, Cary L. Mcconnell

Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works

A generalized empirical relationship was found which corrects spontaneous potential (SP) readings from well logs run in freshwater wells. The function was found by correlating measured and calculated spontaneous potentials. The calculated values are based on actual measured ionic content of groundwaters and are fully corrected for environmental effects and ion species. Without the empirical relationship the electrically equivalent to an NaCl solution resistivity, Rwe, is generally too low for fresh waters when computed with existing commercially available functions. The low Rwe makes the water appear saltier than it really is. One hundred sixty-two (162) individual formations from one hundred …

A Museum Of Photography In The West End Historic District Of Downtown Dallas, Meredith Bynum

School of Architecture Theses - Archive

To design a museum that emphasizes the perceptual and experiential aspects of viewing photographs and films that responds to the urban context of the West End Historical District. The Museum experience will emphasize a progression through a variety of spaces designed to emphasize the viewing of two-dimensional images and contrasting this experience with three-dimensional real space. An inquiry into the nature of photography is an on-going concern that will be reflected in the building. **UTA Libraries seeks the author of the publication about the status of their work**

A New Awakening: An New Baptist Church For Liberty, North Carolina, James D. Dawkins May 1988

A New Awakening: An New Baptist Church For Liberty, North Carolina, James D. Dawkins

All Theses

Baptist church architecture in the United States today is losing its uniqueness. Baptist history and heritage have lost their architectural expression. Church architecture in general has become increasingly non-denominational, responding to all faiths, and sadly Baptists have yielded to this trend. There is a pressing need to re-discover those qualities and characteristics unique to Baptists and to determine how they can influence and strengthen Baptist church architecture. Research into the nature of religion and its theoretical practical, and sociological impact on religious man and his places of worship will serve as a foundation for more detailed investigations into church architecture. …
