Conserving Thailand’S Wooden Built Heritage : Developments, Approaches, And Current Challenges, Teranetr Tienthavorn

This study investigated the developments and current status of stakeholders involved in preserving wooden heritage in Thailand, specifically from the government, private sectors, and academia. The methodologies consisted of documentary analyses, in-depth interviews, and on-site observations of wooden conservation sites. The findings revealed three periods in the development of wooden built heritage: government-led building registration, the evolution of conservation approaches by various stakeholders including private and academic entities, and a collaborative phase emphasizing intangible aspects such as craftsmanship. Combating climate change and reducing atmospheric CO2 emissions are imperative. While carbon trade, including taxes and trading systems, has been proposed, the allocation of initial permits is challenging. This study addresses this issue, exploring the application of the Boltzmann distribution for carbon emission permit allocation in carbon trading. The Boltzmann distribution method uniquely considers each country's environmental and economic contexts, assigning more responsibility to nations with larger populations and higher emissions, and providing incentives to lower-emission countries. This promotes fairness in global climate change efforts and influences national environmental policies. High-emission countries like China receive a high number of permits, …

The airborne nature of COVID-19 dispersion has considerably impacted architectural and ventilation system designs. This research studies the COVID-19 infection risk in typical naturally ventilated detached houses in Thailand. Influencing parameters include the opening size and location of the infected person. Computational Fluid Dynamic was used to simulate the virus spreading in major spaces including the master bedroom, a bedroom and the living room. Employing Maurizio Peleggi's concept of 'Selective Modernity' and Iderlina B. This study aimed to predict household expenditure using a combination of survey and geospatial data. A web-based application operating on the Google Earth Engine platform has been specifically developed for this research, providing a set of satellite-based indicators. These data were spatially averaged at the district level and integrated with household nonfood expenditures, a proxy of socioeconomic conditions, derived from the World Bank’s 2019 Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS). In this work the dynamic stability of the mechanical vibrations of the sewing needle during sewing process under the impact of the time dependent penetration force (cyclic type) were studied. The many mathematical equations were written and explained for both of the sewing needle dynamics and penetration force mechanics. They were related to the regions of sewing needle stability regions either mathematically or graphically. With rising popularity of vocational education in China, the study investigates how academic backgrounds influence vocational students’ perceptions and learning outcomes in a blended SketchUp course, guided by Blended Learning framework and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Quantitative data from 71 undergraduate and 71 junior college interior architecture students was analyzed using statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and t-tests. The analysis showed no significant differences between academic groups in academic achievements, but differences in several perceptions, suggesting equitable learning experiences in the blended course. The transformer is exposed to Very fast transient overvoltages (VFTOs) originated from the switching operations in the gas insulated switchgears (GIS), these overvoltages may damage the transformer insulation and result in catastrophic failures. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of hybrid micro and macro polypropylene fibers (PPFs) on the mechanical characteristics and microstructure of high performance concrete (HPC). Seven concrete mixes with different contents of hybrid polypropylene fibers were tested. The tests included the slump test, compressive and flexural strength, resistance to elevated temperatures, and concrete microstructure. Compared to the control mixture, introducing macro and micro polypropylene hybrid fibers to HPC mixes dramatically enhanced the flexural and compressive strength of concrete while lowering workability.
