Sir Frederick Haldimand, the unintentional father of Canada, was a pioneering strategist whose sophisticated use of intelligence secured British North America during the American Revolution and shaped the continent’s permanent geopolitical division. Moving beyond traditional American-centric historical narratives, this study argues that Haldimand’s success stemmed from a superior “all-source fusion” methodology, which systematically integrated Human Intelligence (HUMINT) from a remarkably diverse network of Loyalists, Indigenous allies, and French Canadians, with Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), and administrative data. His network excelled at statecraft and non-kinetic warfare, differentiating his efforts from his contemporaries and establishing him as a foundational figure in modern intelligence …

At the close of 2024, the first of China's next-generation Type 076 amphibious assault ships was launched at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. Named the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) Sichuan with hull number 51, this milestone concluded the PLAN's major combat equipment development for the year.

China’s navy only began to develop and construct modern amphibious assault ships around 2017. While the first generation of Type 075 ships (an initial batch of four vessels) was still being rapidly constructed, work commenced on the second-generation Type 076 in less than six years. Mapping Weaponized Drone Attacks Attributed To Mexican Drug Cartels, 2021-2025, Austin C. Doctor, Suat Cubukcu, Joel Elson, George Grispos, Mackenzie Harms

The exploitation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) by Mexican drug cartels presents a growing threat to U.S. homeland security and defense. Several of the Mexican transnational criminal organizations designated as foreign terrorist organizations (FDTCOs) in 2025 employ drones in a wide array of tactical applications, including surveillance, smuggling, and weaponized attacks. Tactical innovation of UAS by FDTCOs has enhanced their capabilities to attack a range of targets including security forces within the law enforcement critical infrastructure sector. This report summarizes NCITE original analysis of publicly available information of weaponized drone incidents attributed to Mexican FDTCOs from 2021 through 2025.

“I Plead Ignorance”: Autonomous Weapons And Criminal Liability For Not Knowing The Knowable, Jonathan Kwik

International Law Studies

This article argues that the unpredictability and unintuitive behavior of modern artificial intelligence provide more opportunities for users of autonomous weapon systems (AWS) to remain ignorant of risks posed by their systems to protected entities on the battlefield, and that this ignorance can be maintained even in iterative situations featuring a prior civilian casualty event. It demonstrates this theorem through illustrative targeting scenarios, before formalizing the argument through a model showing the evolution of an AWS-user’s mens rea as they receive notice of a prior incident, and choose to pursue—or not pursue—an inquiry. Strategic Insights

This commentary examines how decision-based artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the structure and exercise of military power. As AI systems increasingly filter information, evaluate options, and accelerate operational decision cycles, military advantage is shifting toward control of the “decision space” itself. AI-enabled decision support allows actors to shape operational environments, constrain adversary choices, and compress the time available for political or military response. These developments are transforming command structures, cross-domain operations, and the role of human authority within military decision processes. Recognizing decision-space as a contested domain, this commentary calls for doctrinal adaptation, revised command architectures, and clear frameworks for …

This research examined how Artificial intelligence (AI) has been embedded in project-based work, particularly in finance and software industries, where it enables efficiency and assists in complex decision-making. However, these innovations introduce significant ethical, privacy, and governance risks that traditional project risk management frameworks fail to adequately address. This study investigated how project managers can systematically integrate the management of these emerging risks into AI-enabled projects. Using a qualitative research design, the study drew on semi-structured interviews with project managers, compliance officers, and AI developers in finance, software and related sectors. Passed Down Like Prayer: The Burden And Inheritance Of The Superwoman Schema, Keyishi Shante Peters

This qualitative phenomenological study examined how Black Baby Boomer and Millennial women perceive and internalize the Superwoman Schema (SWS), a cultural expectation emphasizing strength, emotional restraint, and self-sacrifice. Grounded in Black feminist thought, the analysis explored how the SWS is passed down like prayer, quietly inherited, spiritually charged, and embedded in the everyday practices of survival. Four themes emerged: Being Everything to Everybody, Carrying It All Until It Breaks You, We Were Taught Not to Say No, and Learning to Put the Cape Down. Baby Boomers often described the SWS as a necessary legacy forged through historical struggle, while Millennials …
