A Time Series Analysis Of Herd Investor Behavior Using Online And Social Media Data, Michael L. Smith, Valerie Kilders, Todd Kuethe, Nicole Olynk Widmar

We examine the relationship between market performance of leading cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and Ethereum), meme-stocks (AMC, GameStop), and subjects of corporate boycotts (Bud Light) using weekly market price and volume data along with social media data of weekly mentions (which total 337 million in this dataset) and net sentiment. Using vector autoregression (VAR) time series analysis along with Granger causality testing and structural breaks, we successfully predict trade volume of these various assets using social media data and price data. The recent increase in anti-trans legislature in the United States has negatively impacted the mental health of transgender young adults nationwide. Current research suggests that creative expression in a group setting may be uniquely suited to help transgender people combat the negative mental health effects of internalized anti-trans messaging. Based on this research, a community engagement project was designed for transgender young adult participants to explore resilience building through drama therapy-informed community play. This paper deals with Tina Howe’s play Birth and After Birth as an absurd work. The aim is to harbor on meaning out of the chaotic life of the characters in the play. Topics like motherhood, archetypes, domestic abuse and social bias are discussed in this paper. The implementations of these topics help in shedding light on the motives behind the characters’ actions and consequently reach out to a better understanding of their behaviors and those of the American people in general.

BACKGROUND: It is unclear whether the current North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) trauma system will be effective in the setting of Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO). We sought to model the efficacy of the NATO trauma system in the setting of LSCO. We also intended to model novel scenarios that could better adapt the current system to LSCO.

METHODS: We developed a discrete-event simulation model for patients with combat musculoskeletal injuries treated within the standard NATO system. The primary outcome of the model was survival. The model's health states were characterized as stable, hypovolemia, sepsis, shock, or death. The model simulated …

International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)

Empathy and compassion are core attributes when nurses are developing therapeutic relationships with vulnerable people in their care (Levett-Jones et al., 2019). The Unfolding Narratives uses a co-design arts health approach to create authentic, engaging and evidence based short films. The purpose of the films is to encourage pre-registration nursing students to reflect on their communication skills when caring for people who are living with mental ill health, dementia or are distressed by their life circumstances. Using a sliding door approach the films show how health outcomes are improved by empathetic and compassionate communication. They also demonstrate that without these …

Background: Organ Donation saved the lives of 1510 transplant recipients in the United Kingdom (UK) last year (NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), 2024.
