Examining The Effect Of Social Emotional Learning On Student Perceptions Of The Safety And Comfortability In The Theatre Classroom, Emily Wooten
Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning
This study examined the effects of social emotional learning (SEL) on student perceptions of safety and comfortability in the theatre classroom. The researcher implemented SEL lessons using a morning meeting/class meeting format. Data was collected using a pre-survey, field notes, and focus group interviews. Data was analyzed using the constant comparative method to look for recurring themes to use for poetic transcription. Four primary codes, entitled “Will You Please Join Us?,” “Friend or Foe?,” “Climbing the Mountain of Anxiety,” and “The Love of Theatre” were used to create their own unique poem demonstrating the thoughts and emotions of the students …

The Latinx community is one of the fastest growing groups in the United States and accounted for half of the total population growth from 2010-2019. Despite the increasing numbers, the statistics for Latinx representation in the media continue to be low. Numbers for Latinx writers, producers, and actors are significantly lower than their non-Latinx counterparts and Latinas, in specific, are one of the most underrepresented groups on television and often being portrayed as hypersexual in comparison to other groups of the same gender. Drag has been a part of society since as early as Ancient Greece. However, the art form has evolved throughout the centuries and is still evolving today. Modern day drag is commonly associated with RuPaul Charles and his achievements as a drag performer. He has helped pave the way for present and future drag performers to express themselves through the art form. The mainstreaming of drag has had numerous positive and negative impacts on the LGBTQIA+ community. The Development Of An Evidenced-Based Guideline For The Anesthetic Management Of Surgical Cases Utilizing Evoked Potential Monitoring, Brent Hitchens, Darrell Risinger
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Recent increases in the prevalence of neuromonitoring cases have contributed to the utilization of evoked potential (EP) monitoring during surgery. Evoked potentials are electrical signals measured in response to a stimulus. Intraoperative neuromonitoring is used to alert the surgeon, anesthesia provider, and neuromonitoring technician of changes before permanent nerve injury occurs. There are many factors that can affect neuromonitoring quality including hypothermia, hypotension, positioning, anemia, and anesthesia medications. The latter is especially important since certain anesthetic medications can have a profound inhibitory effect on the nervous system, leading to decreased amplitude and prolonged latency of EP signals. Preservation of local history and architecture played a fundamental role in economic revitalization of Key West during the Great Depression. With the assistance, and upon the insistence, of the people of Key West, the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA), along with the Civil Works Administration (CWA), the Historic American Building Survey (HABS), and the Works Progress Administration (WPA), preserved and developed Key West's historic resources into tourist attractions, thus forming the base for today's service economy in the Florida Keys. Preparation for and entry into World War II required significant changes in the United States, especially for the U.S. Army. Mobilization of manufacturing facilities created noteworthy opportunities for women to work in jobs traditionally considered the domain of men. In September 1974, Black Belt Magazine published a letter from Karen Swanson, a school teacher living in Tallahassee, Florida. Swanson thanked the editors for their recent hire of the New York historian and martial artist Valarie Eads to write a reoccurring column in their magazine on female fighters titled "Fighting Woman." Swanson described herself as an active feminist who wanted to learn self-defense under the guidance of a female teacher. Swanson lamented that there were no female martial arts teachers in north Florida and therefore she had been forced to look for a male instructor. Swanson explained that most male …

Today, Florida boasts important venues for the performing arts. Orlando is ringed by dozens of theme parks that furnish entertainment for masses of people seeking to sample "popular" culture. These popular forms of entertainment are a backdrop for the somewhat smaller stage of "elite" or "serious" performing arts: Ringling's Asolo Center for the Performing Arts in Sarasota and the Fringe Theater Festival in Miami, which attract thousands of people each year, are examples. These are two faces of the same human need for performance before an audience, and for spaces to gather the audiences.

This thesis reexamines the work of Antoine Watteau through a social-art historical lens. Traditionally, Watteau's fêtes galantes have been closely aligned to the culture of the French nobility. However, a closer look into the artist's background, training, social milieu, and the class identity of his primary buyers reveals an alternative class alignment, inviting new interpretations for Watteau's most elusive work. This thesis challenges the close association between Watteau and the French nobility and aims to broaden the socio-visual landscape from which Watteau was drawing, namely that of a burgeoning bourgeois consumer culture.
