Quality Improvement Project: Improving Adn Faculty Professional Development Through Simulation Training, Sharon Haley Peace

Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects

Lack of structured simulation training for nursing faculty, which has been identified as a gap in the literature, can negatively impact the quality of simulation-based education and student learning outcomes. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project was to develop, implement, and evaluate an evidence-based training intervention aimed at improving faculty self-efficacy and competence in simulation facilitation. The project was guided by Lewin’s Change Theory and Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory to support faculty development. This study offers a comparative analysis of revisionist mythmaking in Iranian and American drama, specifically examining Bahram Beyzaei’s play, One Thousand and First Night alongside Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses as examples. This paper examines the reception of American literature in Iran during the period between the Persian Constitutional Revolution (1905–1911) and the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Divided into four distinct phases (1905–1922, 1922–1941, 1941–1953, and 1953–1979), this study explores how political and ideological dynamics shaped the interpretation and translation of American literary works. Central to this reception was its inherently political nature, driven by the dominance of leftist ideologies within Iran’s intellectual landscape. Abbas Kiarostami’s cinema, often compared to Italian neorealism, oscillates between documentation and fiction. Kiarostami’s worlds, replete with a complex network of incomplete and self-reflexive frames, create a new site for perception, reflection, and intervention. This paper studies the intermedial aspect of Kiarostami’s cinema in “The Koker Trilogy” (1987; 1992; 1994), Close-Up (1990), and “Taste of Cherry” (1997). It explores how these moving images are shaped by the specific context of Iranian cinema and how they turn to reshape it. 265 Screens documents twenty-nine cinemas across six states which shut down since March 15, 2020. My project blends photography with cinematography set in a darkened space creating an alternative cinematic experience - reflecting on the changing film industry through the rise of digital technologies and what it means to lose these physical spaces that connect us. Digital streaming has made it possible to watch films at home or alone on a mobile device – creating more isolated viewing experiences. As an adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, the military shooter video game Spec Ops: The Line grapples with adapting the themes and the narrative of an imperialist work into a modern post-imperialist context. By swapping England in Africa for America in the Middle East, the game criticizes America’s conduct of war in the Middle East by showing its similarities to the novella’s imperialism. This project is a comprehensive design package for a themed entertainment experience. It is formatted similarly to how a project pitch works in the Themed Entertainment industry. This is my concept work for an immersive, interactive, themed walkthrough that takes the guest through the story of King Arthur and the wider Arthurian legend. I have done extensive tonal research, leading me to develop a narrative structure for the experience. I designed the set for Western Michigan University’s 2026 production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street written by Steven Sondheim and directed by Jay Berkow. My thesis advisor was Prof. Dave Nofsinger and my thesis chair member was Dean of the College of Fine Arts Dan Guyette. I began my design process in September of 2025. The show ran from April 10th through April 25th. This was my final scenic design as a Theatre: Design and Technical Production undergraduate student at WMU.

This project is an experimental performance exploring dancers as musical instruments. With funding received through the Lindenwood PRIDE Mini-Cycle grant, a network of custom-built wearable sensors will be worn by two dancers to send data regarding orientation, motion, and position in 3D space. This data will be processed in custom software to translate this data into sound or other musical information in real-time. Rather than acting solely as accompaniment, the music will be derived directly from each dancer through gestures and motion. The generated musical material that one dancer creates will be responded to with improvisation by the other dancer. …

This article looks back at my experience of the transition from traditional motion picture film to modern digital filmmaking. It explains the physical and chemical processes behind film, and how we worked with as creatives, and contrasts them with digital recording methods, I reflect on how technological changes transformed production practices, costs, and industry infrastructure. I also highlight the discipline and technical skills required when shooting on film, arguing that the limitations of older methods encouraged careful planning, collaboration, and strong visual storytelling techniques.

Planeta vulnerable. Teatro ecológico del siglo XXI showcases the ways in which contemporary Spanish theatre participates in cultural and dramaturgical (re)generation. These works reclaim the space of the stage as a site of ecological imagination where catastrophic realities are reframed as opportunities for collective resilience, solidarity, and renewal. In doing so, they align with global movements where art and activism converge, demonstrating the capacity of theatre to cultivate awareness, inspire action, and envision generative futures in the face of planetary vulnerability.
