‘Meira Paibi’ is an all-women grassroots resistance movement in Manipur (India). It emerged in 1980s against state atrocities committed under the ambit of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1958 (AFSPA). Their ‘contentious politics’, protest rallies and demonstrations, have gained significant mainstream attention. Often than not, Meira Paibi’s image is interpreted as symbol of women’s empowerment. Women’s visibility in the public domain is not a new phenomenon in Manipur. Manipur had witnessed a number of women’s uprisings both during and post-colonial period. Intestinal malrotation is characterised by positional and congenital fixation abnormalities resulting from a failure in embryonic development in the normal 270° rotation around the axis of the superior mesenteric artery. Intestinal malrotation is primarily thought to affect neonates with an incidence of 1 in 500, however, only 1 in 6000 live births are symptomatic, and these usually present within the first month of life in 40% of cases and within the first year in over 5% of cases as an obstructive pathology or volvulus. In adults, however, the incidence has been documented at 0.2%. These patients usually present with postprandial …

Comparative Investigations On Microextraction And Conventional Air Sampling Techniques: Challenges And Future Directions, Firoz Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan Roni, Ashiqur Rahman, Sayed M A Salam

Microextraction technique (e.g., solid phase microextraction, thin film microextraction, in-tube extraction) brings a revolutionary change in air sampling techniques over the recent few years. This advanced technique exhibits a high pollutant extraction rate, a low retention time, and a lower error margin compared to conventional air sampling techniques. The accuracy range of microextraction technique (MET) was recorded ~90-95% to isolate the volatile organic components, oxygenated and halogenated carbon particles from the air. However, the efficiency of MET increases additional >3-5% when employed by coupled with gas chromatography or gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Embodiment In Online Education: Promising Practices, Mariah M. Lefeber, Tomoyo Kawano, Valerie Blanc

Faculty Publications - Graduate School of Counseling

Embodied experiential learning is central to dance/movement therapy (DMT) education. During the pandemic, DMT educators pivoted to hybrid-online educational delivery and attended to multiple dimensions of student learning and societal crises while attempting to maintain educational quality. Building on the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework and embodied aesthetic theo-ries of care, the authors explored how educators and supervisors accounted for embodied learning in DMT education and training in an online setting. Data were generated and analysed reflexively from a preliminary conference workshop survey and workshop interactions. An aesthetic, relational experience of caring may be incorporated into an online learning space …
