Chronic abdominal pain (CAP) is a common entity in the pediatric population and has an extensive differential diagnosis. Anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome (ACNES) is an etiology that is not often diagnosed and requires an individualized approach. Treatment options for ACNES include nonsurgical and surgical, often a graded approach is used. A 12-year-old boy presented with CAP and was extensively evaluated as well as underwent multiple abdominal surgeries. He was eventually diagnosed with ACNES and underwent a trial conservative management. Although he initially showed improvement, his pain returned. He later underwent a neurectomy procedure with significant postoperative relief. The patient …

Toe Walking In A Formerly Preterm Child: Is It Just Cerebral Palsy?, Nankee K. Kumar, Ashley M. Bach, Deborah M. Zarnow, Kavita Desai, Benjamin C. Kennedy, Sonika Agarwal
Journal of Pediatric Neurology
Spastic diplegic cerebral palsy (CP) is common among children born preterm and is a known cause of toe walking. By contrast, pediatric tumors of the conus medullaris are rare. We report the case of a 28-month-old formerly extremely preterm male with global developmental delay who presented with toe walking, constipation, and asymmetric hypertonia of the lower extremities. Brain imaging revealed periventricular leukomalacia, ex-vacuo ventricular dilation, and cerebellar dysplasia consistent with a diagnosis of CP secondary to perinatal injury. Lumbar spine imaging obtained due to his worsening constipation and pain while walking demonstrated an intramedullary, well-circumscribed, contrast-enhancing lesion in the conus …

District Impact On State-Wide Charter School Policy: Has Normandy Schools Collaborative Punctuated The Equilibrium? Charter School Policy Analysis Of The Missouri Department Of Elementary And Secondary Education, Tracey L. Cannon
Dissertations
Abstract
Punctuated Equilibrium Theory, as applied by Niles Eldredge and Stephen Jay Gould (1941-2002) to the study of species evolution, examined the infrequency of morphological change or stasis discontinuity.1 While groundbreaking in the field of Paleontology and the study of fossil change, the theory has been well-fitting to the decision sciences as introduced by Baumgartner and Jones2, in their 1993 and 2010 publications. Recognizing typical, incremental policy change, its use in this research looks at how stasis, stagnant policy can be punctuated by changes in political or societal views. This study examines the impact of heightened problem discussion for agenda …
A Narrative Study Of How Secondary School Teachers Experience Generative Ai Writing Tools In The English Language Arts Classroom, Nick Brodell

Atom-Chip Compatible Optical Lattice, Robert Leonard, Spencer E. Olson
Space Dynamics Laboratory Publications
A lattice beam configuration which results in an isotropic 3D trap near the surface of an atom chip is described. The lattice is formed near the surface of a reflectively coated atom chip, where three incident beams and three reflected beams intersect. The coherent interference of these six beams form a phase-stable optical lattice which extends to the surface of the atom chip. The lattice is experimentally realized and the trap frequency is measured. Degenerate Raman sideband cooling is performed in the optical lattice, cooling 80 million atoms to 1.1 μK.

Digital signatures, as a strong cryptographic primitive, ensure the authenticity and integrity of signed messages. On one hand, no one can forge a verifiable signature without knowing the secret key, on the other hand, any correctly formed signature is always verifiable under the public key of the signer. Besides signing digital data, they serve as foundational components in more advanced cryptographic systems, including blind signatures, group signatures, direct anonymous attestation, e-cash, e-voting protocols, adaptive oblivious transfer, anonymous credential schemes, Policy-Compliant Signatures, etc. Policy-Compliant Signatures (PCS) enable the enforcement of joint policies between the signer and the verifier. A signature of …

Preparation And Properties Of Rutin-Casein Complexes, Zhang Nan, Liu Lili, Yang Le, Li Sisi, Zhang Xinyuan
Food and Machinery
[Objective] To investigate the effect of complexes produced by protein -polyphenol interaction on the bioavailability of polyphenols and proteins.[Methods] Rutin -casein complexes are prepared using rutin and casein as raw materials.Their physicochemical and structural properties are analyzed.[Results]] The optimal preparation conditions for the rutin -casein complexes are determined as follows:mass ratio of rutin to casein =1.89∶1.00,reaction time of 5.94 h,pH 8.5,and temperature of 50 ℃.Under such conditions, the binding degree is 40.23%.Compared with casein, the complexes exhibit a decrease in emulsifying activity index (8.47 m2/g) and emulsifying stability (9.39%).The solubility increases by 5.11%,surface hydrophobicity is significantly enhanced, and antioxidant activity markedly improves (P<0.05).Scanning electron microscopy reveals that the rutin -casein complexes display a lamellar structure with smooth surfaces, which may contribute to its functional properties.Infrared spectroscopy demonstrates peak broadening and redshifts in the amide I and II bands, and fluorescence intensity (including synchronous fluorescence ) decreases due to fluorescence quenching. It indicates that rutin alters the secondary structure and conformational arrangement of casein.[Conclusion] Compared with the uncomplexed casein, the rutin -casein complexes are enhanced in solubility, surface hydrophobicity, and antioxidant activity.引用格式:张楠,刘丽莉,杨乐,等.芦丁—酪蛋白复合物的制备及特性研究 [J].食品与机械,2025,41(7):9-17.C itation:ZHANG Nan,LIU Lili,YANG Le,et al.Preparation and properties of rutin-casein complexes [J].Food & Machinery,2025,41(7):9-17.
