Precarity And The Social Organization Of Affect In Public Libraries, Naomi E. Nichols Dr., Phil Canuel, Maggie Pearson, Kathrine Williams Oct 2026

Precarity And The Social Organization Of Affect In Public Libraries, Naomi E. Nichols Dr., Phil Canuel, Maggie Pearson, Kathrine Williams

Journal of Institutional Ethnography

Material and felt precarity are increasing in Ontario cities, impacted by housing and food unaffordability, an unpredictable drug supply, rising homelessness, and unmet social and health needs. The social relations of precarity play out in public spaces like libraries, changing how people’s work in, and experiences of, public space are organized. In this institutional ethnography (IE), we draw on 38 interviews with library staff and visitors to describe how shifts in the activities undertaken by library visitors (i.e., an increase in survival-related work) is co-ordered with, and re-shaping the work of library staff. Beginning with the standpoint of library staff, …

Arts-Based Experiential Learning And Human Flourishing: A Perma-Informed Case Study Of Community Mural Making, Lindsay A. Beddes, Karen Yescavage, Krista Bridgmon

Journal of Contemplative and Holistic Education

The worsening mental health epidemic among college students is marked by significant risk for loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Given that the demand for mental health care is outpacing institutional capacity, creative solutions are needed to augment traditional reactive interventions. In this qualitative research, we used narrative case study to explore the transformative power of community mural-making as experiential learning. Drawing on Seligman’s PERMA model (positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment) we investigated how creative expression can cultivate positive psychological states to help students flourish (1991; 2011; 2018). Mural making promotes the crucial skills of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Outdoor public …

Palestinian Theatre Studies: The Emergence Of A Field, Noor Shihadeh

Regards

This article analyses the emergence of Palestinian theatre studies, a field of research bound to the modern history of Palestine and to the settler colonial violence that marks it. This violence strikes people, their cultural production and the very possibility of preserving it, shaping in turn how scholarship circulates and where it can be conducted. Studies on Palestinian theatre have nonetheless appeared since the 1960s. The article examines them through a multilingual literature review (Arabic, English, French, Italian, Hebrew) and identifies three main lines of research: a historical-documentary approach, a socio-political and anthropological approach, and a body of studies devoted …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-270-Master Title: Non-Von Neumann Ternary Logic Compilers For Closed-Loop Substrates: Physical Verification Schemas For Multi-Phase Fluid-Canvas Systems, Christopher L. Eckes Oct 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-270-Master Title: Non-Von Neumann Ternary Logic Compilers For Closed-Loop Substrates: Physical Verification Schemas For Multi-Phase Fluid-Canvas Systems, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

  1. This master specification provides the definitive systems architecture, out-of-band verification schemas, and compilation protocols for a non-Von Neumann ternary logic operating network. Traditional binary computing structures are bound by rigid physical separation between processing cores and memory storage units, leading to the catastrophic Von Neumann bottleneck, immense thermal dissipation spikes, and logical vulnerabilities to software-level algorithmic hallucinations.

SPEC-270-MASTER resolves these vulnerabilities by replacing discrete binary bits (0, 1) with localized, physical sub-2-bit ternary states (-1, 0, +1) compiled directly within the continuous multi-phase fluid loop parameters established in SPEC-263-CORE. By utilizing out-of-band verification hardware stages to phase-lock computational operations to …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-269-Core Title: Graded Interface Passivation Against Micro-Cavitation Corrosion: Solid-State Surface Passivation And Mechanical Implosion Deflection For High-Velocity Cooling Loops, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

  1. This disclosure provides the definitive material resilience matrices, surface chemistry formulations, and solid-state passivation criteria required to protect the interior fluidic lines of the TECTONEX spaceframe chassis against high-velocity vaporous cavitation shockwaves. Under extreme operational load conditions, high-velocity magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pumping cycles cause transient local fluid velocities to experience steep geometric contractions, inducing extreme localized low-pressure zones. When these vapor pockets inevitably collapse, they release intense, micro-scale kinetic implosion jets that destroy traditional pipe structures via mechanical cavitation erosion and subsequent localized chemical corrosion.

SPEC-269-CORE resolves this long-term wear vulnerability by engineering a continuous, graded ultra-nanocrystalline diamond (UNCD) and tantalum-nitride …

Defensive Publications Series

  1. This disclosure provides the definitive mathematical models, spatial layout configurations, and thermodynamic parameters required to build integrated thermal enthalpy recovery grids within Layer 3 of the TECTONEX panel mesh. When high-flux ionizing radiation impacts Layer 1, the localized kinetic and electromagnetic energy is translated into high-density standing phonon fields within the monolithic Eckesonium(TM) wave-sink backbone.

SPEC-268-CORE resolves the problem of thermal pooling and localized entropic losses by embedding solid-state, high-efficiency bismuth-telluride (Bi2Te3) and silicon-germanium (SiGe) quantum-well thermoelectric micro-grids directly within the walls bounding the microvascular channels. By capturing the steep spatial thermal gradient generated between the blazing exterior structural skin …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-267-Core Title: Co-Harmonic Surface Streaming Filters For Microfluidic Separation: Meshless Oxide Isolation In Liquid Metal Enclosures Via Omni-Resonant Acoustic Acoustophoresis, Christopher L. Eckes Oct 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-267-Core Title: Co-Harmonic Surface Streaming Filters For Microfluidic Separation: Meshless Oxide Isolation In Liquid Metal Enclosures Via Omni-Resonant Acoustic Acoustophoresis, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

  1. This disclosure provides the definitive mathematical models, transducer configurations, and fluid-acoustic separation parameters required to isolate, group, and remove particulate oxides from liquid Galinstan or EGaIn working fluid loops without using physical mesh screens. Traditional filtration schemas within microfluidic chassis incur extreme pressure drops, boundary layer turbulence, and eventual mechanical choking when oxide scales gather at structural constrictions.

SPEC-267-CORE resolves this bottleneck by deploying an active Co-Harmonic Surface Streaming Filter array natively integrated within the Titanium-Aluminide (TiAl) duct pathways. By utilizing high-frequency, concentric piezoelectric transducers focused directly into the channel cross-sections, the system establishes localized ultrasonic standing wave fields. These …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-266-Core Title: Acoustic Soliton Attenuation And Phononic Suppression Matrices Inside Additively Manufactured Titanium-Aluminide (Tial) Ducts Under High-Velocity Pump Cadences, Christopher L. Eckes Oct 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-266-Core Title: Acoustic Soliton Attenuation And Phononic Suppression Matrices Inside Additively Manufactured Titanium-Aluminide (Tial) Ducts Under High-Velocity Pump Cadences, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure provides the definitive mathematical models, structural dampening parameters, and phononic attenuation profiles required to prevent structural harmonic cracking within the cooling channel walls of the TECTONEX chassis mesh. High-velocity magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pump cadences induce periodic, high-amplitude acoustic pressure pulses within liquid metal coolant lines. Traditional aerospace channel structures experience immediate structural fatigue and catastrophic micro-cracking when these acoustic waves match the native resonant frequencies of the structural metal housing.

SPEC-266-CORE resolves this vulnerability by implementing an engineered sub-wavelength phononic attenuation layer within the additively manufactured Titanium-Aluminide (TiAl) duct walls. By treating the physical duct matrix as a non-linear …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-265-Core Title: Non-Equilibrium Phase Boundary Mapping And Atomic-Scale Wetting Matrices For Galinstan-Chromium Nitride (Cr-N) Transition Buffers, Christopher L. Eckes Oct 2026

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-265-Core Title: Non-Equilibrium Phase Boundary Mapping And Atomic-Scale Wetting Matrices For Galinstan-Chromium Nitride (Cr-N) Transition Buffers, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure provides the definitive atomic-scale wetting functions, interfacial rubbing friction matrices, and non-equilibrium boundary conditions required to structurally stabilize the interface where liquid Galinstan or EGaIn contacts a solid-state Chromium-Nitride (Cr-N) transition buffer. Traditional microfluidic models assume a static, non-wetting slip condition that triggers unpredictable boundary layer cavitation and heavy localized viscous losses under high-velocity pump cadences.

SPEC-265-CORE resolves this bottleneck by implementing the Covariant Dynamic Sieve (CDS) network function at the atomic layer interface. By controlling the stoichiometric Nitrogen concentration within the 5 μm thick Cr-N layer to match the localized Stacking Fault Energy (SFE) profile of the …

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure provides the definitive geometric equations, boundary layer friction constraints, and computational optimization rules required to eliminate localized turbulent recirculation zones inside the microvascular fluidic channels of the TECTONEX spaceframe chassis. Standard microfluidic architectures experience catastrophic structural degradation and severe pressure-head drops when high-viscosity working fluids hit sharp, right-angle branchings under extreme convective thermal loads.

SPEC-264-CORE resolves this bottleneck by deriving a continuous, non-linear geometric radius adjustment curve for all internal 90-degree pipe divisions. By balancing the local shear stress tensor (\(\sigma _{ij}\)) directly against the Covariant Dynamic Sieve (CDS) network function, this specification establishes an exact geometric profile …

Technical Disclosure Specification: Spec-263-Core Title: Multiscale Fluidic Information Ingestion Gateways And Madelung Wave Modulation Matrix For Non-Von Neumann Closed-Loop Substrates, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure provides the definitive mathematical, physical, and computational specifications for an analog-to-fluidic information ingestion gateway. Traditional computing domains rely on discrete binary logic gates that encounter catastrophic thermal dissipation and context-window saturation limits at sub-nanometer thresholds. This specification resolves these bottlenecks by introducing the Madelung Wave Ingestion Throttle, which materializes data profiles directly into continuous hydrodynamic wave fields.

By passing incoming electromagnetic or computational logic streams through high-frequency Gallium Nitride (GaN) transduction stages, information is converted into deterministic velocity (\(\mathbf{v}\)), density (\(\rho \)), and vorticity (\(\Gamma \)) tensors within a liquid Eutectic Gallium-Indium (EGaIn) or Galinstan multi-phase working fluid …

Framing Ground-Up Urban Transformation: The Need For Neighbourhood-Scale Statutory Planning Frameworks, Anjali Karol Mohan, Justin Andrews Jeganathan Oct 2026

Framing Ground-Up Urban Transformation: The Need For Neighbourhood-Scale Statutory Planning Frameworks, Anjali Karol Mohan, Justin Andrews Jeganathan

Journal of Law and Public Policy

Urbanisation in the cities of the Global South is steered through high-level urban development plans and sector-specific policies, often premised on macro-scale processes and economic restructuring. Given the centralized and standardized approach, these plans and policies remain disconnected from the city-making processes that unfold incrementally at the sub-city or the neighbourhood scale through the everyday decisions of multiple stakeholders. The neighbourhood scale is significant as it allows for negotiation and participation, thus providing opportunities to exercise social, spatial, and economic agency. Yet this scale is often overlooked—at times completely missed—in macro plans and policies. Important questions thus remain on how …

Cumulative Reasonableness: A Doctrine Of The Combined Effect Of State Intrusions, Tonja Jacobi Oct 2026

Cumulative Reasonableness: A Doctrine Of The Combined Effect Of State Intrusions, Tonja Jacobi

Texas A&M Law Review

The Supreme Court has recognized that a single state action, such as forced surgery to retrieve a bullet as evidence, can be so intrusive as to be unreasonable, even when police have probable cause and a warrant. Yet, the Court permits significant intrusions into a person’s privacy and bodily integrity when the state acts in multiple steps. It permits police to, among other things: subject a person to a stop, even when that stop was driven by racial discrimination; use evidence found in a search of the person, even when the stop was illegal; arrest that person, even when the …

Moving Beyond Worker Rights To Worker Justice, Shefali Milczarek-Desai Oct 2026

Moving Beyond Worker Rights To Worker Justice, Shefali Milczarek-Desai

Texas A&M Law Review

Precarious workers’ on-the-ground realities offer a startling truth often obscured by the jurisprudence of work—that worker justice is greatly circumscribed by and often lies beyond the reach of worker rights laws. This Article is the first to evaluate whether the worker rights paradigm can fulfill the goals of worker justice and, if not, to prefigure what might.

The worker rights paradigm emerged from a quest for worker justice that has been transmuted by work law and the political economy into a workers-as-rights-holders status requiring robust enforcement of worker rights laws. This Article introduces the concept of empirical critical work law …

Energy Data Justice, Heather E. Payne, Joel B. Eisen Oct 2026

Energy Data Justice, Heather E. Payne, Joel B. Eisen

Texas A&M Law Review

As the energy system becomes increasingly data-driven, this Article proposes a new framework for treating access to and governance of that data—energy data justice—that synthesizes the insights of two rapidly developing bodies of scholarship: energy justice and data justice. In our view, energy data justice examines not only how data is used to shape outcomes within the energy system but also focuses on the power dynamics relating to the collection and use of energy-related data. Similarly to how scholars have advocated for curbing Big Tech’s most pernicious data practices, we argue for treating energy data not simply as a technical …

Data-Driven Discovery Of Canonical Models In Undergraduate Differential Equations Education, Devon L. Garls, Raina Majumder, Scott A. Strong

CODEE Journal

Roughly a decade ago, Brunton, Proctor, and Kutz built upon the re-

sults of classical control theory, compressed sensing, and symbolic regression

to create a method for Sparse Identification of Nonlinear Dynamics (SINDy),

allowing one to infer a dynamical system from time series and bring mathe-

matical dynamics into the modern era of large data. This paper is designed for

a reader concurrently enrolled in a first course in ordinary differential equa-

tions and begins with a technical overview of least-squares regression and

finite-difference approximations to derivatives, which is enough to perform

an example hand-calculation on three data points. The …
