Provenance-Bound Capability-Envelope Pinning Of An Mcp Tool Surface With Block-And-Re-Approve Enforcement On Semantically-Meaningful Structural Change And Import-Time Semantic-Intent Screening, Tiago Rosado
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses a mechanism, at a security gateway that mediates an AI agent's use of tools served over the Model Context Protocol (MCP), for governing the *tool surface* an imported MCP server advertises — as opposed to only inspecting the traffic that passes through it. At the time an MCP server is imported and approved, the gateway, through its own gated broker path, fetches the server's complete advertised surface (its tool list and prompt list, including each tool's name, human-readable description, parameter schema, and declared return shape), computes a content hash over that complete surface, and records it in …

Method For Accelerating Field-Programmable Gate Array Emulation Using Pre-Optimized Memory Implementation, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
The technology described in this paper relates to a method for optimizing the compilation flow of field-programmable gate arrays by streamlining memory resource allocation. The approach uses pre-partitioned memory wrappers during the register transfer level design phase to bypass automated memory mapping. By decomposing large design memories into sub-memory blocks that correspond directly to native physical memory dimensions, the method reduces computational overhead and shortens verification cycles. Two distinct allocation strategies—depth-first and width-first—are evaluated to optimize hardware resource utilization. Keywords: field-programmable gate array, emulation, compilation, memory mapping, register transfer level, wrappers, and resource allocation.
Hybrid Thermal Bridge System For Cooling Irregular Electronic Components In Sealed Server Chassis, N/A
Hybrid Thermal Bridge System For Cooling Irregular Electronic Components In Sealed Server Chassis, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
A thermal management system provides targeted cooling for densely packed, highly irregular electronic components within a sealed environment. The system utilizes a closed-loop thermal bridge incorporating an internal thermal baffle, a dedicated local fan, and a local finned heat exchanger. The internal thermal baffle forms an isolated fluid duct over components having uneven topographies, while the local fan continuously circulates air through this duct. Heat transferred to the air from the active components is subsequently dissipated through the finned heat exchanger, which interfaces directly with a facility liquid cooling loop. This configuration effectively cools complex power delivery components while maintaining …
Service-Aware Dynamic Voltage And Frequency Scaling Via Thread Attribution And Synchronous Lock Interception, Vadlamudi Venkata Girish
Service-Aware Dynamic Voltage And Frequency Scaling Via Thread Attribution And Synchronous Lock Interception, Vadlamudi Venkata Girish
Defensive Publications Series
In mixed-criticality computing systems, latency-critical services can be delayed when lower-priority tasks hold shared resource locks, causing a priority inversion. Software that performs aggregate-based power scaling responds more slowly to these events than hardware. This publication describes a service-aware power management architecture that utilizes synchronous lock interception and hardware-assisted thread profiling to resolve resource contention. An event-driven interceptor monitors synchronization primitives to detect when a critical task is blocked by a lower-priority thread. Before altering a power state of the lower-priority thread, however, the system queries hardware performance counters to verify that the blocking task is compute-bound rather than memory-stalled. …

Operationalizing Supply-Chain Hygiene In Graduate Is Education: A Hands-On Module For Secure Software And Ai/Ml Pipelines, Dominic A. Wilson
Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice
Supply-chain attacks (including typosquatting, dependency confusion, compromised builds, dataset poisoning, and backdoored models) pose growing threats to analytics platforms central to Information Systems (IS). While frameworks like the Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF) and Supply-chain Levels for Software Artifacts (SLSA) offer guidance, IS curricula often lack accessible, infrastructure-light modules that build practical skills for mitigating these risks. This experience report presents a two-week module embedded in a graduate Secure Coding course required for a Master’s in Applied Security and Analytics degree. The module operationalizes secure development habits across both traditional software and machine learning (ML) pipelines. The module addresses a …

Seamus Heaney And The “Mode Of Grief”: Three Elegies Of Field Work, Lucy Whitney
Seamus Heaney And The “Mode Of Grief”: Three Elegies Of Field Work, Lucy Whitney
Undergraduate Honors Theses
In 1981, Seamus Heaney discussed the role of poetry as “more a mode for grief than grievance” (407). This essay is concerned with how Heaney used poetry to grieve suffering, death, and loss, especially within the context of “The Troubles” in Ireland from roughly 1965 to 1998. To better understand Heaney’s poetry, this essay will explore three elegies, “Casualty,” “The Strand at Lough Beg,” and “In Memoriam Francis Ledwidge.” These three grieving poems examine different facets of both the elegy and Irish history and conflict. Within them, Heaney creates modes of both mourning and healing for the many emotions associated …
Dnp Final Report: Enhancing Radiation Oncology Training For Advanced Practice Providers, Katherine A. Bukolt
Dnp Final Report: Enhancing Radiation Oncology Training For Advanced Practice Providers, Katherine A. Bukolt
DNP Final Reports
Background: Rising cancer incidence and improved survivorship are straining the oncology workforce, increasing reliance on Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). However, there is a lack of standardized educational resources for APP radiation oncology training across practice settings. Most APPs receive variable, resource-dependent, and on-the-job training. Evidence shows that the lack of standardized training leads to gaps in foundational knowledge, reduced confidence in toxicity management, inconsistent role development, and variable satisfaction with training and transition into practice.
Purpose: This quality improvement project evaluated the feasibility of implementing an 18-module Advanced Practice Radiation Oncology (APRO) asynchronous online curriculum to standardize APP radiation oncology …

Environmental Tolerances And Habitat Association Of Three Endemic Crayfish Species In Texas, Andrew Walker
Biology Theses
Little is known about many of the 52 crayfish species in Texas. This thesis investigates physiological tolerances of three species endemic to the Jackson Vale ecoregion of Southeast Texas, the Bastrop crayfish (Procambarus texanus), Nueces crayfish (Procambarus nueces), and the Fayette’s crayfish (Procambarus fayettei) as well as the White River crayfish (Procambarus acutus), which is ubiquitous throughout East Texas. Thermal, hypoxia, and acidity tolerances were tested on wild caught individuals through laboratory assays. Findings from this study will inform wildlife managers of future conservation strategies relating to these endemic species.

The Effect Of Strength Training On The Development Of Selected Core Muscles And Arm Strength In Young Boxers Aged 17–18 Years, Abbas Tawfeeq Mansoor
The Effect Of Strength Training On The Development Of Selected Core Muscles And Arm Strength In Young Boxers Aged 17–18 Years, Abbas Tawfeeq Mansoor
Modern Sport
This study aimed to investigate the effect of strength training on the development of selected core muscles and arm strength in young boxers. Boxers utilize maximum and fastest arm punches and core movements to achieve optimal performance against their opponents in bouts. Despite the importance of these elements, variations in specific strength levels are observed among young boxers aged 17–18 years. The problem lies in the fact that traditional training may not adequately or specifically focus on the "selected core muscles" that support dynamic balance during a fight, or on the link between core strength development and increased arm strength …

Modeling Mathematics Identity In Engineering Pathways: Centrality, Typicality, And Persistence In Stem, Douglas D. Havard, Linh Ho, Adriana Quirós-Arauz
Education Faculty Articles and Research
Inequities in mathematics-intensive engineering pathways persist in part because "being mathematical" is socially recognized as much as it is personally meaningful. Guided by the Social Theory of Numeracy, this study validates a two-factor model of mathematics identity, distinguishing between identity centrality (the integration of mathematics into one's self-concept) and peer-normative typicality (the perceived alignment with academic peer pathways that signal legitimacy and belonging). Engineering degree selection was examined as a focal mathematics-intensive outcome. Using the High School Longitudinal Study of 2009 (HSLS:09), we estimated survey-weighted confirmatory and structural models with Balanced Repeated Replication (200 BRR replicates; Fay = 0.5) on …

Cervical Insufficiency Revisited: A Proposal For A New Treatment-Aligned Definition, Vincenzo Berghella, Ilaria Paladino, Moti Gulersen, Rupsa Boelig, Amanda Roman
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Faculty Papers
Cervical insufficiency [CI] has traditionally been defined as painless cervical dilation resulting in recurrent second-trimester pregnancy loss in the absence of labor or placental pathology. Definitions from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists emphasize historical clinical presentation. However, contemporary obstetrics relies increasingly on ultrasound-based cervical length surveillance and evidence-based cerclage indications rather than retrospective diagnosis. The objective of the review was to propose a definition of cervical insufficiency aligned with current evidence-based indications for mechanical prevention of preterm birth, i.e. cervical cerclage. In modern obstetric practice, the operational diagnosis of clinically …

Current guidelines acknowledge the importance of both microsurgical and neuroendovascular expertise in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease. To achieve optimal care for these patients, it is becoming increasingly evident that procedural volumes impact patient outcomes. This is demonstrated across various cerebrovascular diseases. In this literature review, we demonstrate the association of volume with patient outcomes across multiple cerebrovascular disease states and interventions. Microsurgical aneurysm clipping remains essential even with the rise of endovascular therapy and mortality and patient-safety indicator events are clearly lower at high-volume centers for both ruptured and unruptured aneurysms. Likewise, patients undergoing surgery for cerebrovascular malformations and carotid …

Parametric Modular Answer Set Programs Made Declarative, Jorge Fandinno, Yuliya Lierler, Torsten Schaub
Computer Science Faculty Publications
In this paper, we explore the concept of modularity in first-order answer set programming (ASP). We introduce a new formalism called parametric modular logic programs, which allows defining subprograms with parameters and intensionality statements. We demonstrate how this formalism can capture the semantics of clingo-programs with collective control , a feature that enables structuring and instantiating subprograms. We provide theoretical foundations for modular ASP, illustrate its usefulness, and connect to traditional non-modular ASP.

The Vision Language Models (VLMs) demonstrate remarkable performance in semantic reasoning tasks. However, it is still challenging for them to fully understand 3D spatial environment. Trained on 2D data, the model does not understand the relationship between positions and the first-person viewpoint, leading to viewpoint confusion, which is especially evident during egocentric tasks. The VLMs use 2D image Red-Green-Blue channel (RGB) pattern matching instead of actual point cloud coordinates for distance calculations. This modality could prevent the model’s 3D space geometry understanding, and leads to metric hallucination, as the model guesses the distance without mathematical calculations. In addition, the industrial …
