Bulgarian Pentecostal Leadership In The Crucible Of Change, John Paul Thompson
Spiritus: ORU Journal of Theology
Bulgarian Pentecostal leaders have navigated the waters of turbulent cultural change over the last thirty years in the wake of the fall of Communism in Bulgaria. From May to July 2020, eighteen Bulgarian Pentecostal leaders were interviewed to explore their leadership characteristics and how their leadership behavior and values changed over time amid a rapidly evolving society. Three generational groups of present-day Pentecostal leaders were identified, and their characteristics described. The study concludes with the leadership development needs of young emerging leaders given the continuously changing cultural environment.

A History Of Nashville Children's Theatre: 1977-2019, Robert Roberts
A History Of Nashville Children's Theatre: 1977-2019, Robert Roberts
Education Theses
The purpose of this thesis is to collect a formalized history of Nashville Children’s Theatre (or NCT), a nonprofit arts organization, between the years of 1977 and 2019. Previous theses by students at other universities have recorded NCT’s history prior to 1977, but much of the company’s evolution during the time since has only been kept via a loose oral tradition amongst employees, an oral tradition that becomes increasingly distorted and destroyed as staff members and volunteers come and go from the organization or pass-away. This thesis project collected memories from 18 individuals who worked for, volunteered with, performed at, …

The Development And History Of The Rural Futures Institute’S Fellows Program, Samantha Guenther, Brooke Wells
Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Scholarship
Rural Futures Institute (RFI) served to mobilize the resources and talents of the University of Nebraska and its partners, to create knowledge and action that support rural people and places to achieve unique paths to their desired futures. The Fellows Program was one method that RFI used to fulfil their vision by connecting college students with rural communities to create tangible results on community-defined projects and goals. As the program continues to evolve and find new leadership under Rural Prosperity Nebraska, it is important to document these changes and understand its history. The purpose of this historical research study is …

In September of 2020, the Construction Management department at the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) gave the opportunity to five senior level students to assist them with research on how to develop content and programming for the five extra student learning outcomes and have it count toward their senior project. These five students, each being paired up with a student from CM 461, were asked to produce a study guide and survey questions for one of the …

Best Practices For Women Seeking Sponsorship In Corporations, Kimberly Hayman
Best Practices For Women Seeking Sponsorship In Corporations, Kimberly Hayman
Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership Theses
Women are underrepresented in corporate leadership, and many sources recommend sponsorship as an effective strategy to increase the percentage of women in leadership. A sponsor uses his or her influence and advocates on behalf of an individual protégé’s career advancement. This thesis examines sponsorship through the lens of social capital theory and identifies best practices for women seeking sponsorship for career advancement in corporate leadership. Through interviews with eight women corporate leaders and a review of the published literature, I identified best practices for women in corporations to source, select, and secure effective sponsor(s) to advance in leadership roles.

A Legacy Of Millennials: Discovery Of A Leader Development Process For Family Church In North Carolina, Herman H. Walker Jr
A Legacy Of Millennials: Discovery Of A Leader Development Process For Family Church In North Carolina, Herman H. Walker Jr
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Millennial leadership development for church ministry is the key to reaching future generations with the gospel. Unfortunately, many critical scholars predict the ultimate demise of the church as they highlight an unprecedented exodus of millennials from its ranks. The purpose of this study is to challenge the misplaced focus on those who have left the church and refocus on the millennials who remain. The biblical record supports the view that God has repetitively used a remnant of leadership to rebuild his people when they were in decline. The millennials who actively attend church are a contemporary remnant whom God can …
Prosperity Gospel In Liberia: A Theological Alternative To The Gospel Of Jesus Christ, Jerome A. Newman
Prosperity Gospel In Liberia: A Theological Alternative To The Gospel Of Jesus Christ, Jerome A. Newman
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Many indigenous Liberian pastors are not theologically grounded on a solid biblical foundation. As such, many Liberian Christians lack foundational knowledge of the truths of the Gospel of Christ for salvation. The prosperity gospel or “Faith, Wealth, and Health” theology in Liberia is a significant deviation from the Gospel of Christ that undermines sound hermeneutical interpretation of Scripture. This study examines why a growing number of pastors in Liberia are replacing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the prosperity gospel. An anonymous survey research study of 12 pastors from Unity Light Ministry Network (Unity Community Church) in Kakata, Liberia, West …
Towards A Model And Strategy For Transformational Change, Abeni El-Amin Ph.D., Babu George
Towards A Model And Strategy For Transformational Change, Abeni El-Amin Ph.D., Babu George
Management Faculty Publications
Leaders must ask critical questions when deciding to initiate change such as: Where to begin? What and how to organize resources? How to distribute responsibilities within the organization? These questions are especially important when an organization faces the need to change in the instance of a crisis. Leaders must develop objectives, which accomplish strategic goals. Logically, these goals categorize into explicit actions: the organization should clarify how they sequence and correlate a change strategy. Articulating precisely which capacities, structures, and product offerings influence how stakeholders perceive change within organizations is vital. This article sketches key processes and pathways that make …

The sample comprised 119 competitive youth sport athletes. Results indicated that head coaches and athlete leaders both displayed all four authentic leadership behaviours (self-awareness, relational transparency, internalized moral perspective, and balanced processing of information), with head coaches displaying all four behaviours …

The Relationship Between Authentic Leadership And Organizational Change Readiness: The Mediating Role Of Psychological Safety, Paulina Christine Manzano
Master's Theses
The purpose of the current study was to examine the mediating effect of psychological safety on the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational change readiness in the workplace. A total of 107 employees participated in the study, which utilized online survey distribution. Results showed that psychological safety partially mediated the relationship between authentic leadership and organizational change readiness. In other words, the more employees perceived their leadership to be authentic, the more likely employees felt safe taking risks at work, which in turn, increased employees’ emotional and cognitive inclination to adopt and embrace organizational change. Based on these findings, organizations …

Forensics Leadership: An Isocratean Vision, R. Randolph Richardson, Kathy Brittain Richardson
Proceedings of the National Developmental Conference on Individual Events
Contemporary forensic students and educators owe much to the leaders of the latter half of the twentieth century who rediscovered the educational benefits of speech competition, founded several collegiate programs and professional organizations, and established numerous tournaments and perfect-ed their management in a time of great technological change and challenge. A long list of noteworthy women and men who sacrificed inordinate amounts of time, money, often careers and professional standing, and more, for the benefit of forensic activity deserve recognition, appreciation and honor. The spirit of sacrifice that characterized the founding generation of leaders and those who immediately followed is …

Leadership Styles Of Superintendents In The Developmental Disability System In Ohio, Kristine Hodge Edd, Karen H. Larwin Phd
Journal of Organizational & Educational Leadership
The county boards of developmental disabilities in the state of Ohio have experienced significant change in vision, mission, programs, services, and funding over the last several years. In times of vast change, the ability to successfully lead an organization becomes challenging. In an effort to identify the leadership behaviors and styles of superintendents of county boards in the changing environment, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Form 5X ([MLQ Form 5X], Bass, 2007) was administered and analysis was conducted. The most common self-identified leadership style is transformational, followed by transactional and laissez-faire Implications of this study support the transformational leadership style in …

Leadership, Contexts, And Learning - Part 2. Theories Of Learning, Channels, And Curricula, Larry M. Starr, Phd
Leadership, Contexts, And Learning - Part 2. Theories Of Learning, Channels, And Curricula, Larry M. Starr, Phd
School of Continuing and Professional Studies Faculty Papers
In this second of a two-part essay (see Starr (2020a1) for part 1) a systems-informed discussion of learning leadership is presented. I review the components of a system which consist of inputs, transformation, outputs, feedback and contextual environment, and argue that from a system perspective learning leadership emerges from interactions among elements particularly contextual variables. The concept of context is expanded to include the theory of learning applied, i.e., pedagogy, andragogy or heutagogy, and the communication channel used, i.e., face-to-face, virtual/online, or hybrid/blended. Learning leadership is also influenced by environmental context variables such as threats to health and safety, financial …
Effective Church Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence, Joshua T. Lancaster
Effective Church Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence, Joshua T. Lancaster
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
In On Leadership, John Gardner wrote, “Most of what leaders have that enables them to lead is learned.” Effective leadership skills can be learned and become habits. In Primal Leadership, Daniel Goleman wrote, “Not only can emotional intelligence be learned, but it also can be retained over the long term.” Southern Baptist congregants expect their pastors to be theologians, but also effective leaders. The emotional quotient barrier suggests that pastoral leadership is less effective because of behaviors such as inconsistent management of emotions, inability to genuinely connect with people, or leading without inspiration. This has led to stagnated or declining …

From Ideology To Implementation: Moving One Church Staff From An Aspirational Mindset Of Developing Leaders To An Actionable Movement Of Leadership Development, Trevor Blake Hislop
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
According to a recent article on “The Paradox of Leadership” from Harvard University, there are more than 15,000 books in print on the topic of leadership, and the number of works written about leadership in the past decade is greater than the total number of works ever written. So, if leadership is so highly valued in our culture today, then why is there a decline in leadership development in the church? Additionally, there are a growing number of churches that have detailed programs for leadership development; however, few churches are producing new leaders. Church at Viera in Viera, Florida, embraces …

Evaluating ethical technology leadership at a financial services firm in North Carolina requires discovering interactions amongst organizational culture, leadership approaches, and ethical decision-making practices. This study provides insight into how the participating firm’s organizational culture creates a leadership climate accommodative of an applied cyberspace business ethic. A cyberspace business ethic provides guidance to technology leaders addressing ethical challenges arising from emergent digital technologies. The identification of four key influencers that support ethical decision-making and provide protection against reputational risk exposures create an understanding of the collective nature of core values, relational, reputational, and technological influences on ethical behaviors. Self-determination theory …
