Auv Path Planning Integrating Local-Global Strategies In Unknown Environments, Wenlong Meng, Yanbo Pu, Ya Gong

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Existing path planning algorithms often struggle to efficiently explore and generate high-quality trajectories. To address this issue, this paper proposes a path planning algorithm that integrates local-global strategies. By employing the rolling window technique, the global one-time path planning problem is transformed into an iterative process of multiple local planning stages. During the global exploration phase, the rolling window is used to determine high-level path branches and to identify branch waypoints, thereby refining the calculation of local paths. In the local exploration phase, an improved RRT-Connect algorithm is proposed, which combines adaptive circular sampling with dynamic step length to …

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: The decision variable dimension of large-scale multi-objective optimization problems can reach hundreds or even thousands. For existing large-scale multi-objective evolutionary algorithms based on decision variable analysis, which usually consume a large amount of computational resources for grouping and fail to consider the interactions between convergence-related variables and diversity-related variables, a large-scale multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on multi-region adaptive dynamic grouping was proposed. The algorithm employed a Gaussian mixture model to partition the decision space into multiple regions; within each region, feature vectors were constructed for each decision variable, and spectral clustering was utilized to perform grouping. To validate …

The “How” Of Christian Scholar’S Review: Addressing Two Academic “Integration” Problems, Matthew D. Lundberg

University Faculty Publications and Creative Works

Over the past two weeks, my colleagues Margaret Diddams and Perry Glanzer have articulated the mission of Christian Scholar’s Review by considering the “why” and “what” of the journal. In this blog post, I will explore the “how” question—how CSR approaches its mission. (As you might expect, the “how” overlaps considerably with the “what” and “why.”) How does CSR do its work? By taking on two distinct but related “integration” challenges that face Christian scholars and Christian academic institutions.

Analyzer-Less X-Ray Interferometry With Super-Resolution Methods, Murtuza S. Taqi Apr 2026

Analyzer-Less X-Ray Interferometry With Super-Resolution Methods, Murtuza S. Taqi

LSU Master's Theses

X-ray interferometry provides valuable information on attenuation, small-angle scattering, and differential phase contrast. This multi-modal contrast can aid in many clinical applications, such as lung diseases and breast cancer. However, standard inter- ferometry has an analyzer grating that can increase the dose requirement to maintain the same image quality as a standard X-ray. We propose the use of super-resolution methods for X-ray grating interferometry without an analyzer, with detectors that fail to meet the Nyquist sampling rate needed for traditional image recovery algorithms. Detector phase- steps are used to nominally recover the sampling and iteratively recover the visibility and the …

Is It Altruism Or Codependency? A Dive Into Our Relationships With Others, Livia Dietrich

Psychology Student Publications

Codependency is characterized by the tendency to put others’ needs ahead of your own. It can affect anyone; but is typically most common in mothers. This paper explores many reasons someone may fall into these patterns, such as low self-esteem or an abusive partner. Trends of relationships in one’s past, like their relationship with their parents, could also affect the likelihood of codependent tendencies. These examinations can help to identify what codependency looks like in order to repair relationships moving forward

Legalistic Noncompliance, Daniel T. Deacon, Leah M. Litman Apr 2026

Legalistic Noncompliance, Daniel T. Deacon, Leah M. Litman

Duke Law Journal

Will the executive branch comply with court orders? That question has garnered a considerable amount of attention over the first few months of the second Trump administration. But what does it mean to comply? And what if a form of noncompliance is already occurring?

This Article documents an emerging practice that has dominated the second Trump administration's approach to unfavorable court rulings, a practice this Article calls legalistic noncompliance. Legalistic noncompliance occurs when the administration uses the language of the law as cover to claim that it is complying with court orders when in fact it is not. Drawing …

Restoring Chevron Deference By Statute, Scott Dodson Apr 2026

Restoring Chevron Deference By Statute, Scott Dodson

Duke Law Journal

This Essay details a solution for legislatively restoring Chevron deference: amend the APA to direct lower federal courts to give deference to reasonable agency decisions but retain nondeferential judicial review by the U.S. Supreme Court. This solution restores most of the practical benefits of Chevron by giving agencies flexibility to implement congressional policy directives with the expertise they have acquired, by maintaining stability in administrative regulation, and by relieving lower federal courts of the burdens of nondeferential review. And retaining nondeferential judicial review in the Supreme Court will preserve the constitutional role of the judicial branch to say what the …

Originalism's Unbalanced Ledger, David Zaring Apr 2026

Originalism's Unbalanced Ledger, David Zaring

Duke Law Journal

This Essay examines the fundamental tension between originalism and cost-benefit analysis—the two dominant methodologies shaping modern, public law decision-making. Originalism, currently triumphant, prioritizes historical meaning and textual fidelity. It operates in stark contrast to cost-benefit analysis, the byword of the administrative state since 1982, which focuses on the future and efficiency. Descriptively, the two methodologies are irreconcilable. Nor is it possible to pair them by claiming they serve different purposes; originalism and cost-benefit analysis conflict when assessing agency design, constitutional rights, and judicial review of administrative action. As regulatory policymaking continues to rely on empirical and economic assessments, originalism's influence …

Study The Effect Of Isospin Dependence And Short-Range Correlations By Using Contact Formalism Through Inclusive Nuclear Structure For 20Ne And 24Mg Nuclei, Farah Faris Kaddoori, Ghaith N. Flaiyh

Baghdad Science Journal

Pair densities and their related correlation functions play a crucial role in capturing the complex many-body interactions within nuclear systems. This study focuses on how spin and isospin specifically influence nuclear charge density distributions. Using the folding model, the charge density is derived through an effective two-body density approach that incorporates both short-range correlations (SRC’s) and tensor correlations (TC’s), while also accounting for spin- and isospin-dependent forces. Calculations were carried out for the elastic electron scattering form factors, F(q), and the root-mean-square (RMS) charge radii, ⟨r²⟩¹ᐟ², of the ²⁰Ne and ²⁴Mg nuclei. The study also examined inelastic longitudinal electron …

Vascular Responses To Hand Posture Are Preserved Despite Acute Endothelial Dysfunction: Insights From Pulse Wave Velocity And Finger-To-Finger Timing, Zain Al-Abideen Falah Ali, Fezaa Shalal Neda, Bassam Talib Al-Gailani

Baghdad Science Journal

Limb posture alters hydrostatic pressure and vascular tone through mechanical and reflex pathways, but the contribution of endothelial function remains uncertain. To determine whether vascular responses to hand elevation and dependency persist during transient endothelial dysfunction induced by ischemia–reperfusion injury (IRI), eighteen healthy adults (9 males, 9 females) underwent ECG-gated pulse recordings at three hand positions: heart level (H-0°), 90° below (H-90°), and 50° above (H+50°), before and after IRI. Primary outcomes were pulse wave velocity (PWV) and finger-to-finger pulse arrival-time difference (f–f ΔT); secondary outcomes were wrist mean blood pressure (MBP), heart rate (HR), and ΔPWV/ΔBP slope. The result …
