The analysis disclosed that there are various forms of microplastic fibers, fragments and granules indicating different sources of pollution. The identified ones varied from 114.485 µm to 2034.731 …

Sensitivity Of The Mangrove Forest In The Joal-Fadiouth Marine Protected Area (Senegal) To Climate Variability (Rainfall And Temperatures), Eugenie Marie Mossane Sene, Elhadji Faye, Sylvie Brizard Zongo, Hippolyte Ditona Tsumbu, Jean-Claude Micha Jun 2026

Sensitivity Of The Mangrove Forest In The Joal-Fadiouth Marine Protected Area (Senegal) To Climate Variability (Rainfall And Temperatures), Eugenie Marie Mossane Sene, Elhadji Faye, Sylvie Brizard Zongo, Hippolyte Ditona Tsumbu, Jean-Claude Micha

Journal of Bioresource Management

Mangroves provide coastal communities with a multitude of ecosystem services. This is the case in Joal-Fadiouth. A study on its mangrove dynamics revealed a decline in area between 1974 and 2004, followed by a gradual trend after it acquired Marine Protected Area (MPA) status in 2004. Given the importance of this mangrove, the research focused on analyzing its evolution associated with rainfall and temperature variability. To do this, Spearman’s Rho correlation coefficient was performed between mangrove areas in 10-year increments from 1974 to 2024 and values of climate parameters studied for each increment, with n (number of pairs) = 6. …

Translanguaging Practices And Speaking Anxiety Among Saudi Efl University Students, Hatim Abdulhadi Masoudi

University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences

Foreign language learning anxiety remains a critical affective variable influencing learners’ performance in English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms. This study examined the association between translanguaging as a pedagogical strategy and foreign language anxiety among Saudi university students. Adopting a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, data were collected from 200 undergraduate EFL students using a structured questionnaire. While the study design allowed for correlational analysis, the individual participant data required to compute a correlation coefficient between the primary constructs was not provided in the report. Descriptive analyses showed that students who reported greater exposure to translanguaging-based instruction also reported lower anxiety …

Inclusive Leadership And Its Impact On Employee Engagement And Creativity Among University Employees: The Mediating Role Of Organizational Diversity Climate, Amal Abdulmajeed Qassim, Hanan Osama Hassan Mahmoud

University of Tabuk Journal for Humanities and Social Sciences

In this study, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is employed to examine the relationships among employee engagement, inclusive management, creativity, and organizational diversity climate in a Saudi university (University of Tabuk). Based on Social Exchange Theory (SET) and Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) theory, the research offers empirical evidence that inclusive leadership enhances the organisational diversity climate, thereby raising employee engagement and creativity. The organisational diversity climate is a vital mediating variable that underscores the importance of translating leadership decisions into beneficial outcomes for employees. Using data from the university employees (N = 150), PLS-SEM results indicate that inclusive leadership …

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Supplementation In Caprine Semen Extenders: Current Evidence, Knowledge Gaps, And Implications For Triladyl® Based Preservation Systems, Abdul Saboor Brohi, Qudratullah Kalwar, Muhammad Mohsen Rahimoon, Hidayatullah Soomro, Hubdar Ali Kolachi, Rafique Ahmed Shar, Muhammad Awais Soomro, Abdul Aleem Korejo, Muhammad Arslan Yousaf Rehan, Sajad Ali Laghari

Journal of Bioresource Management

Cryopreservation of goat semen is an essential tool for genetic improvement, germplasm conservation, and the expansion of artificial insemination programs in caprine breeding. However, buck spermatozoa are highly susceptible to cryo-induced oxidative stress due to their membrane composition rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Excessive generation of reactive oxygen species during semen processing, freezing, and thawing compromises sperm motility, viability, membrane integrity, mitochondrial function, and DNA stability, ultimately reducing post-thaw fertilizing potential. Semen extenders play a pivotal role in mitigating these detrimental effects by providing cryoprotection and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Among commercial extenders, Triladyl® is widely used in ruminant semen preservation; …

Journal of Bioresource Management

Medicinal plants provide a safe and efficient source of drugs for cancer treatment. Berberis aristata and Senna alexandrina are traditionally used to treat several ailments because they contain compounds with antimicrobial, antitoxic, anti-inflammatory, and other properties. The objective of the study was to prepare crude ethanolic extracts of B. aristata and S. alexandrina and to determine their cytotoxic potential against cancer cells. Ethanolic extracts were prepared for both plants. Hepatocellular carcinoma cells (HepG2) were used for all assays. The cytotoxicity of extracts was determined by 3‑(4,5‑Dimethylthiazol‑2‑yl)‑2,5‑diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay using various concentrations of extracts. The obtained sub-lethal concentrations were used …

Fungal-Associated Deterioration Of Polythene Bags Collected From The Dumping Sites Of District Sialkot: A Preliminary Screening Study, Zarish Fatima, Brian Gagosh Nayyar, Ayesha Sarwar, Mah-E- Noor Abbas, Saira Fiaz, Wajiha Seerat

Journal of Bioresource Management

Polythene bags are highly inert plastic materials made from monomers of ethylene. Due to their durability, lightweight, and low-weight characteristics, polythene bags are in high demand among consumers and retailers worldwide. This widespread use of polythene bags has led to the generation of polythene waste in the environment. This study focused on the degradation of polythene bags through fungal strains in the desired region.  In this research, three identified fungal strains, namely Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, and Fusarium oxysporum, were screened using two synthetic media for degradation, such as the culture plate method (CPM) and Liquid media degradation (LMD). A …

“The Ai Pushed Me To Consider New Perspectives”: Preliminary Observations On A Chatgpt Intervention Designed To Elicit Critical Thinking About Media Headlines, Karina Luna, Chelsea Julian Reynolds, Ali Zain

Journal of Media Literacy Education Pre-Prints

This study explored whether a custom AI chatbot could be a relevant tool for promoting critical thinking about news bias. The research team discusses the development of a custom critical media literacy chatbot and its implementation in an upper-division critical media studies course at a large North American public university. Students interacted with the chatbot to analyze news headlines about transgender issues, employing a scaffolded framework to dissect media framing and generate alternative frames. We argue that the same AI technologies fueling anxiety can be reimagined as partners in cultivating critical media literacy and guiding future directions in journalism pedagogy. …
