Parameters Identification Of Lithium Battery Based On Forgetting Factor Recursive Least Square Algorithm With Improved Initial Value, Wen Wang, Huaze Shi, Yufei Yue, Longji Li, Chuanping Wu, Yuxuan Tong

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

Accurate estimation of the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion batteries relies on precise model parameters. When using the forgetting factor recursive least square (FFRLS) algorithm for parameter identification of the equivalent circuit model of lithium-ion batteries, improper selection of initial iterative values can lead to low identification accuracy and slow convergence speed. To address this issue, circuit analysis is combined with the FFRLS algorithm, and then an improved initial value-FFRLS (IIV-FFRLS) algorithm is proposed. Firstly, offline identification is performed to obtain the equivalent circuit model parameters corresponding to various SOC points, which are then fitted using a polynomial function. …

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

To further improve the accuracy of transmission line icing prediction, a prediction model based on an improved Harris hawks optimization(IHHO) algorithm optimizing hybrid kernel extreme learning machine(HKELM) is proposed. The hybrid kernel function is introduced into the kernel extreme learning machine to form HKELM. The IHHO algorithm is improved by strategies such as golden sine, nonlinear decreasing inertia weight, and Gaussian random walk. The IHHO algorithm is then utilized to optimize the weight vector and kernel parameters of HKELM, establishing a transmission line icing prediction model based on IHHO-HKELM. The input variables of the icing prediction model are determined by …

Risk Zone Assessment Of Rainstorm Induced Waterlogging Associated Outage Of Distribution System With Consideration Of Micro‑Topography, Le Wang, Jie Tang, Yuanfei Huang, Ke Wang, Zenghong Jian

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

Influenced by climate change, heavy rainfall and waterlogging have shown an increasing trend in recent years. The distribution system with a small power supply radius and insufficient flexibility in location selection is prone to large-scale power outages caused by waterlogging. Analysis points out that due to the lack of detailed records of waterlogging levels, there is a benchmark missing problem in the planning and construction of distribution systems in terms of waterlogging protection. Therefore, referring to disaster prevention methods such as ice disasters in power systems, and based on the analysis of storm inundation using a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model, this …

Comprehensive Computational Study On Transient Heat Transfer In Functionally Graded Longitudinal Fins Under Time-Varying Laser Heating, Hüseyi̇n Demi̇r, İnci̇ Çi̇li̇ngi̇r Süngü, İbrahi̇m Keleş

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The present study assumes that the material properties of the fin vary by a force rule in the axial direction, with the exception of the thermal relaxation coefficient, which is assumed to be constant. The temperature distribution in the longitudinal fin with homogeneous cross-section exposed to the laser heat source is numerically investigated. This is because these constraints lead to a linear differential equation with partial solutions that can't be analytically resolved using conventional methods, except for a few elementary order functions. Consequently, a linear or non-linear system of equations as a function of time is obtained by transforming a …

Two‑Stage Optimization Of Virtual Power Plant Participating In Secondary Frequency Regulation Using Improved Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm, Jingkai Zhu, Yong Cui, Yang Du, Wei Jian, Bing Liu, Zhaoyu Sun

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

As a new type of regional energy management system, the virtual power plant (VPP) can efficiently participate in the secondary frequency regulation auxiliary services of the power grid through the coordinated optimal scheduling of "source-load-storage". This paper introduces the internal structure of the VPP, and models and analyzes the characteristics of new energy units and controllable loads. A two-stage scheduling model for the VPP participating in secondary frequency regulation is established, which can balance the net profit and frequency regulation effect of secondary frequency regulation. An improved quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm with adaptive weights is studied. By introducing …

Short‑Term Prediction Method Of Distributed Pv Output Power Based On K‑I‑Elm Multi‑Model Integration, Zhuohan Jiang, Shengyu Zhou, Yuqing He, Renjun Zhou, Chenhao Sun

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

In response to the "dual carbon" strategy, a new type of power system with a high proportion of renewable energy access has become the next development goal. As one of the main forms of current energy generation, photovoltaic (PV) power generation has characteristics such as multi-source, heterogeneous, and high-dimensional data distribution, which makes the mechanisms and effects of different features relatively complex and subsequently increases the difficulty of predicting the output of distributed PV systems. To address this, multiple categories of data mining models are integrated to construct an K-I-ELM prediction method for short-term PV output prediction in complex data …

An Identification Method Based On Mtf Visualization And Improved Densenet For Power Quality Disturbances, Shuai Shi, Ziwen Chen, Dongmei Huang, Qi He, Yuan Sun, Wei Hu

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

Aiming at the problems of complex process and insufficient refinement of artificial feature selection in traditional power quality disturbances (PQDs) classifier, a new PQD recognition method based on Markov transition field visualization and improved DenseNet is proposed. Firstly, the one-dimensional PQD signal is mapped into a two-dimensional image by MTF. Then, the image is input into an improved DenseNet with a new channel attention mechanism. Finally, the network is trained to extract features from a large number of samples by itself, so as to realize the correct recognition of PQD signals. The example results show that: in the case of …

Stability Analysis Of Flexible Direct Current Transmission System With Differential Flatness Control, Zheng Feng, Hui Li, Xinqiao Fan, Sijia Liu, Kun Qi

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

When an AC system operates asymmetrically, unreasonable control parameter values at the converter station can affect the stable operation of the flexible DC transmission system. Therefore, a small-signal model of the converter station with differential flatness control under asymmetric conditions is proposed. Simultaneously, combining the internal characteristics of the modular multilevel converter (MMC) with the dynamic models of various subsystems such as the circulating current suppressor and the DC line, a global small-signal model for the two-terminal flexible DC transmission system is established. Based on this, the impact of the control parameters on system stability is analyzed by the changes …

Short‑Term Output Prediction Of Wind Turbine Based On Arima‑Lstm‑Rbf Combined Model, Wenjie Zheng, Huijuan Tan, Ruifeng Zhao, Zhanqiang Xu, Yu Cai, Xinyue Zhu

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

In response to China's "dual carbon" goals, the proportion of new energy sources, represented by wind power, in the power output for power grids continues to increase. Effective wind turbine output prediction is particularly important for formulating grid scheduling and power generation plans ahead of time. Due to the strong irregularity and seasonality of wind power data, a single model prediction method cannot solve the problem of wind power intermittency while ensuring prediction accuracy. To address this, a combined model using the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) time series, long- and short-term memory (LSTM) network, and radial basis function (RBF) …

Small Signal Stability Assessment Of Grid‑Connected System For Grid‑Following/Grid‑Forming Hybrid New Energy Stations Based On Tcn, Tao Lin, Zhengyang Lin, Chen Li, Jun Li

Journal of Electric Power Science and Technology

To support the rapid switching of unit control modes in grid-following/grid-forming hybrid new energy stations and achieve safe and stable operation of these stations that can adapt to changes in grid strength, a rapid assessment method for small-signal stability of grid-connected systems in grid-following/grid-forming hybrid new energy stations based on temporal convolutional network (TCN) is proposed. Specifically, an aggregated impedance model for grid-following/grid-forming hybrid new energy stations is constructed, and the small-signal stability margin of the grid-connected system is obtained through eigenvalue calculations. Furthermore, using the short-circuit ratio of the grid-connected system and the information on the grid-following/grid-forming control mode …

Flexible Load Conformance: A Work-In-Progress White Paper, Dana Paresa, Robert B. Bass

Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Publications and Presentations

Utilities have used residential loads for providing grid services to utility customers for decades, particularly for demand response. However, the number of customers participating in such programs remains low. New Flexible Load Management strategies for providing grid services have the potential to accelerate customer participation. Efforts to improve customer participation and experience will result in increased load balancing capacity of demand response, which will benefit both customers and electric utilities. This white paper investigates whether current smart grid devices (specifically water heaters) can provide needed services while meeting ANSI/CTA-2045 standard requirements.

Motivated by a DNA methylation application, this article addresses the problem of fitting and inferring a multivariate binomial regression model for outcomes that are contaminated by errors and exhibit extra-parametric variations, also known as dispersion. While dispersion in univariate binomial regression has been extensively studied, addressing dispersion in the context of multivariate outcomes remains a complex and relatively unexplored task. The complexity arises from a noteworthy data characteristic observed in our motivating dataset: non-constant yet correlated dispersion across outcomes. To address this challenge and account for possible measurement error, we propose a novel hierarchical quasi-binomial varying coefficient mixed model, which …

Members of the leucine rich repeat (LRR) and PDZ domain (LAP) protein family are essential for animal development and histogenesis. Densin-180, encoded by LRRC7, is the only LAP protein selectively expressed in neurons. Densin-180 is a postsynaptic scaffold at glutamatergic synapses, linking cytoskeletal elements with signalling proteins such as the α-subunit of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II. We have previously observed an association between high impact variants in LRRC7 and Intellectual Disability; also three individual cases with variants in LRRC7 had been described. We identify here 33 individuals (one of them previously described) with a dominant neurodevelopmental disorder due …

Importin β-superfamily nuclear import receptors (NIRs) mitigate mislocalization and aggregation of RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), like FUS and TDP-43, which are implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. NIRs potently disaggregate RBPs by recognizing their nuclear localization signal (NLS). However, disease-causing mutations in NLS compromise NIR binding and activity. Here, we define features that characterize the anti-aggregation activity of NIR and NLS. We find that high binding affinity between NIR and NLS, and optimal NLS location relative to the aggregating domain plays a role in determining NIR disaggregation activity. A designed FUS chimera (FUSIBB), carrying the importin β binding (IBB) domain, is …

Military burn pits, used for waste disposal in combat zones, involve the open-air burning of waste materials, including plastics, metals, chemicals, and medical waste. The pits release a complex mixture of occupational toxic substances, including particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), heavy metals, dioxins, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Air pollution significantly impacts brain health through mechanisms involving neuroinflammation. Pollutants penetrate the respiratory system, enter the bloodstream, and cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), triggering inflammatory responses in the central nervous system (CNS). Chronic environmental exposures result in sustained inflammation, oxidative stress, and neuronal damage, contributing to neurodegenerative diseases and …
