A Corpus Study Of Modern Neologisms (With An Emphasis Of Extra-Linguistic Sources), Senad Arifi

This paper focuses on investigating the frequency of modern neologisms with an extra-linguistic sources in Corpus of Contemporary American English, respectively the frequency and collocations of these neologisms in the mentioned corpus. A corpus investigation was undertaken: more than fifty neologisms were taken from the corpus. Judging from the data in this study, the analysis and comparisons seem to be exclusively informative and in some cases less common from a linguistic perspective. The objective of the research was to perform a comparative evaluation of Linear Regression and Random Forest for predicting property prices in Prishtina. The analysis utilized a dataset comprising 1,512 property transactions, employing metrics such as Mean Squared Error (MSE), Coefficient of Determination (R²), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) for evaluation. The study also included a variable importance assessment. After preprocessing and normalizing the data, both models were trained and evaluated. The study analyzes the water quality of aqueducts in Drenas, Prishtina, Lipjan, and Shtime, Kosovo, in June and August 2024. The parameters assessed include physicochemical properties like color, turbidity, pH, free chlorine, chlorides, conductivity, and metal ions (Fe²⁺, Mn²⁺, Al), alongside biological indicators such as coliform bacteria. The results indicate that most parameters are within acceptable limits, reflecting overall good water quality. However, variations were noted: Prishtina's low chlorine levels may pose microbial risks, and the increased chlorides and conductivity in Lipjan suggest the impact of urban runoff or industrial activities.
