Effects Of Sowing Date, Water Deficit, And Potassium And Sodium Silicate On Yield And Quality Traits Of Faba Bean (Vicia Faba L.), Mohammed Moatasem Arif Alrawi, Wafaa Ali Hussein

Baghdad Science Journal

Faba bean production in Iraq is becoming much harder due to climate change. Arid environments in the region suffer from a combination of low rainfall, outdated irrigation networks, and extreme heatwaves, all of which directly suppress final crop productivity. As a protein-rich legume of high nutritional and economic value, faba bean requires effective agronomic strategies to maintain yield and quality under stress conditions. This study evaluated, under field conditions during the 2023–2024 growing season in Iraq, the interactive effects of three sowing dates (September, October and November), two deficit irrigation regimes (80% and 60% of the full irrigation control), and …

Text-Fabric And The Bibleol: A Fruitful Combination For Greek Exercise Development, Cedric Vine, Oliver Glanz Oct 2026

Text-Fabric And The Bibleol: A Fruitful Combination For Greek Exercise Development, Cedric Vine, Oliver Glanz

Andrews University Seminary Studies (AUSS)

Two of the major challenges for an instructor of any language course are (1) the limited amount of exercise material available for students and (2) compromised exams requiring the laborious creation of new exams. These challenges increase significantly when teaching biblical languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek). However, BibleOnlineLearner (BibleOL) has now addressed both of these challenges. When an instructor uses BibleOL, he/she can easily create an exercise that targets a specific learning object (e.g., learning the Greek present tense of the regular conjugation). BibleOL then creates randomized exercises for each student. Unless the instructor decides otherwise, the BibleOL exercise will be …

When The Chatbot Is Wrong On Purpose: Using Genai Role-Play To Build Student Engagement And Critical Ai Fluency, Sierra Adare-Tasiwoopa Api

AI in the Classroom: A Virtual Summit

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how customized AI chatbots can be used to increase student engagement while also teaching students to question AI-generated information. The workshop centers on a role-playing game scenario in which students interact with a chatbot non-player character (NPC) that serves as a guide, informant, but one that sometimes provides incomplete, misleading, or invalid information. Rather than treating chatbot errors as failures, the activity uses them as opportunities for students to practice verification, source evaluation, metacognition, and discipline-specific reasoning.

Participants will first experience a short version of the role-playing activity as students. They will then …

Building Bots That Teach Thinking: Using Custom Ai Chatbots To Enhance Critical Thinking And Decision-Making, Megan Biagi

AI in the Classroom: A Virtual Summit

Generative AI is increasingly common in education, but its effect on student learning depends largely on how it is used. This interactive session will introduce practical strategies for creating custom AI chatbots that encourage students to think through problems rather than simply ask for answers. Participants will explore ways to design bots that ask learners to explain their reasoning, consider alternative perspectives, identify assumptions, and revise their thinking before receiving feedback.   Examples from healthcare education and other disciplines will show how these tools can support guided inquiry, reflective questioning, clinical reasoning, and decision-making. Participants will review and revise sample chatbot …

Designing Custom Chatbots For Classroom Use: Practical Examples, Benefits, And Current Limitations, Akio Abe, Farrukh Nazir

AI in the Classroom: A Virtual Summit

Recent advances in generative AI have made it increasingly possible for individual educators to design and implement their own custom chatbots without advanced programming skills (Abe & Kaneshige, 2025). This workshop introduces practical examples of custom chatbots developed for educational purposes and discusses both their affordances and limitations for classroom use.

We would like to share a chatbot creation experience, which we spent one hour building, with a 30-minute presentation. For each chatbot, we will explain its intended purpose, target users, basic specifications, and expected classroom applications. We will also describe the development process, including how the presenters designed the …

Ai For Everyone: Designing An Introductory Ai Course Across Disciplines, Jesse Fitts, Waleed Faris

AI in the Classroom: A Virtual Summit

As artificial intelligence reshapes virtually every field, universities face a growing imperative to ensure AI literacy is not reserved for computer science majors alone. This panel presents the collaborative design of an introductory AI course built for undergraduate general education — one that serves students across disciplines, regardless of technical background.

Two co-designers will share the story of building the course from complementary angles. The first presenter will address the technical foundation of the curriculum: how core AI concepts such as machine learning, data, and algorithms were translated into accessible, hands-on learning experiences for non-specialist students. The second presenter will …

From “I’M Not A Coder” To “I Built A Website”: Teaching Business Concepts Through Ai Vibe Coding, Jean Jeon Oct 2026

From “I’M Not A Coder” To “I Built A Website”: Teaching Business Concepts Through Ai Vibe Coding, Jean Jeon

AI in the Classroom: A Virtual Summit

This presentation shares my experience developing an AI vibe coding project for business students with little or no coding experience. Students first replicated a website, then created their own improved version and learned from peer feedback. Through trial and error, they revised their prompts and applied course concepts related to target audiences, user experience, branding, and business models. What began as an AI tool assignment became a learning-by-doing experience that encouraged students to think like marketers. I will share the project structure, student learning process, and lessons I learned while learning alongside my students.

Artifacts Inquiry For Social Studies And Science Classrooms, Tina Valenzuela, Jaime L. Coyne

Teaching Social Studies in the Peach State

Artifacts offer opportunities for students to move beyond reading about the past to investigating evidence from it. In this article, we describe a museum-based artifact inquiry activity developed with teacher candidates and offers practical ways to adapt the activity for K–12 interdisciplinary classrooms. Beginning with a single artifact, learners make careful observations, distinguish observation from inference, develop compelling and supporting questions, investigate additional sources, construct evidence-based claims, and consider perspectives and limitations of the available evidence. The activity aligns with the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework Inquiry Arc and connects with the Georgia Standards of Excellence in social …

No New Lessons: The Impact Of World War 2 On The American Fire Service, Brady L. Hutchison Oct 2026

No New Lessons: The Impact Of World War 2 On The American Fire Service, Brady L. Hutchison

Bound Away: The Liberty Journal of History

Large loss of life fires occurred with terrifying regularity in 1940s America. While overseas, the nation’s military waged a war on tyranny and oppression abroad, at home, the country faced an enemy every bit as deadly. Tradition in the fire service has held the notion that the 1940s saw so many deadly fires due to the nation being at war. The war, it is believed, drained fire departments of manpower, dramatically increased the call volume for departments, and led departments to cut or suspend fire inspections owing to lack of manpower. With that, the consensus is that fire codes in …

H-Nare 2.0: Hybrid Numeric-Alphabetic Research Indexing Engine For Multi-Domain Open-Hardware Invention Portfolios, Michael Victor Caldwell Mr.

Defensive Publications Series

H-NARE 2.0 is a hybrid numeric-alphabetic indexing and invention-development method for large, multi-domain open-hardware portfolios. It gives each disclosure a stable numeric identifier, assigns it to one or more engineering domains, records its development status, and links related inventions, upgraded versions, shared components, and research platforms.

The method addresses a practical problem: when an inventor or research group publishes hundreds of related disclosures, readers, collaborators, and AI-assisted research tools need a reliable way to locate relevant prior disclosures, distinguish new work from corrected or upgraded versions, and identify which existing inventions can be combined into a new system.

H-NARE 2.0 …

A Read-Only Listening Companion That Shows A Tabletop Role-Playing Group's Own Campaign Notes As Names Are Spoken, Wayne Bolt

Defensive Publications Series

Long tabletop role-playing campaigns build up hundreds of invented names. General speech recognition mishears exactly these names, so looking something up during play rarely happens. This disclosure describes a read-only companion that listens to a game and shows what the group's own notes say about each name as it is spoken. Speech is turned into text on the player's own device, from the computer's sound (a video call), a microphone (a physical table), or both. Recognition can be primed with the campaign's names. The text is matched against a casebook built from the group's notes database, with entries, aliases and …

Method And System For Dynamically Repositioning Virtual Content In Augmented Reality Systems During Conversations, Ashish Singh, Ahmet Cengiz Öztireli Oct 2026

Method And System For Dynamically Repositioning Virtual Content In Augmented Reality Systems During Conversations, Ashish Singh, Ahmet Cengiz Öztireli

Defensive Publications Series

Users interacting with head-wearable augmented reality (AR) devices frequently experience virtual content clutter, such as incoming notifications, application windows, or video feeds overlaying their primary field of view. When a user engages in a face-to-face social interaction while wearing head-wearable devices, this virtual content can inadvertently obstruct the user's direct line of sight to the conversation partner's face and upper body. This obstruction disrupts natural eye contact and non-verbal communication cues, creating social disconnect and distraction. Furthermore, relying on manual hand gestures to adjust or reposition virtual content is cumbersome and interrupts conversational flow.

The disclosed technology describes a conversation-aware …
