How Young Mothers’ Interpersonal And Emotional Well-Being Impacts Parental Stress And Dating Violence, Jonathan Jin

This two-part dissertation investigated two distinct, yet interconnected aspects of young mothers’ wellbeing which span individual and interpersonal factors. Study 1 examined how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are related to parental stress, and how symptoms of anxiety and depression might mediate this association. Within a sample 255 young mothers with an average age of 22.2 (SD = 2.3), the pooled results of a parallel mediation model across 10 imputed datasets indicated a significant average direct effect of ACEs on parental stress (0.25, p < .01), suggesting that experiencing a history of ACEs was significantly associated with more parental stress. Study 2 examined the relationship between young mothers’ romantic attachment, emotion regulation, and dating violence (DV) victimization. In a different sample of 256 young mothers with an average age of 19.8 years (SD = 1.1), more avoidant (less secure) romantic attachment styles (β = 0.26, SE = 0.1, p < 0.01) and more anxious romantic attachment styles (linear component β = 3.81, SE = 0.9, p < 0.001 and quadratic component β = -2.86, SE = 0.9, p < 0.01) were significantly associated with greater DV victimization. Future research may extend this work by using longitudinal designs to test bidirectional links between interpersonal and emotional wellbeing factors among young mothers.

Fatigue And Healing Performance Of Asphalt Materials Modified With Nanomaterials And High-Polymer Asphalt Binders, Samuel M. Addai

Fatigue cracking is one of the primary distress mechanisms affecting asphalt pavement durability under repeated traffic loading and environmental aging. Although asphalt binders possess an inherent ability to heal micro-damage during rest periods, this healing capacity is often insufficient to fully counter progressive fatigue damage under field conditions. This thesis investigates the fatigue and self-healing behavior of asphalt binders and mixtures modified with nanomaterials and advanced polymer-based systems. Nanomodified binders were evaluated using Linear Amplitude Sweep (LAS) and Linear Amplitude Sweep with Healing (LASH) tests within the VECD framework to quantify fatigue resistance and healing behavior under different rest periods …

This study investigates the structural determinants of student satisfaction with blended learning (BL) within pedagogical professional development modules at a Vietnamese university of education. Utilizing a partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach, with a large sample of 1,121 pre-service teachers, the research evaluates the relative influence of five key factors: instructional quality, learner agency and professional awareness, technological infrastructure, course content, and institutional support services. Results indicate a high overall level of student satisfaction. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to explore older adults' perception of caregiver stress and their anticipation of becoming a caregiver (N = 723). Bivariate analyses revealed that perceived caregiving stress was higher among older adults who were females, White/Non-Hispanics, with chronic health conditions, who had experienced prior physical and financial caregiving burdens and was lower among those with just a high school degree. Multivariate analyses revealed that perceived caregiving stress levels remained higher only for those with past experience with physical caregiving, those with chronic health conditions, older females and White/Non-Hispanic older adults. This study investigates the socio-demographic factors associated with readiness to use AI-driven tools in financial decision-making. It uses data from a representative survey of Poles and conceptualises an AI readiness index. It then estimates the relationships between socio-demographic characteristics and this index using an ordinary least squares (OLS) regression model. Additionally, robustness checks are conducted with heteroskedasticityrobust standard errors and multiple imputation. The OLS results were supplemented by one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with Tukey’s Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) post hoc tests to identify groups’ differences. In this holdover proceeding, the petition was dismissed for lack of personal jurisdiction. Landlord resorted to conspicuous place service notwithstanding that it was undisputed — and known to landlord prior to commencement — that tenant lacked a key to her mailbox, rendering such service constitutionally deficient. Personal jurisdiction was not waived: tenant's attorney filed a notice of appearance before the second court appearance and moved to dismiss approximately one month thereafter, which the court found sufficiently expeditious to preserve the defense.

Knowledge organization (KO) systems such as the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) structure human knowledge primarily through disciplinary subject relationships, leaving the subjective, experiential dimension of knowledge engagement largely unexamined. This conceptual study extends David Gamez's (2018) distinction between "online" (environmentally-coupled) and "offline" (environmentally-decoupled) bubbles of experience into Library and Information Science (LIS), proposing that DDC's ten main classes can be interpreted as differing in the dominant mode of conscious engagement they require. Semi-supervised learning aims to infer class labels using only a small fraction of labeled data. In graph-based semi-supervised learning, this is typically achieved through label propagation to predict labels of unlabeled nodes. However, in real-world applications, new data often arrives in batches, and stale data often becomes irrelevant. Each time a new batch appears, reapplying the traditional label propagation algorithm to recompute all labels is redundant, computationally intensive, and inefficient. Simulation optimization has been used to analyze construction operations and support planning decisions under uncertainty. It enables the identification of effective planning strategies throughout a project’s lifecycle. However, the use of stochastic simulation to evaluate alternative strategies results in higher computational demands and the generation of inferior solutions within the resulting optimal solutions. This study examines the feasibility of overcoming these issues by implementing variance reduction techniques into a discrete-event simulation optimization framework. The events are seen through the eyes of fifteen narrators and the novel consists of fifty-nine sections, each contains feelings, observations and thoughts of a character. In the face of such a complex situation, critics propose several readings, ranging from a traditional view to a more modern perspective. The aim of this paper is to represent the two conflicting views, in an attempt to find an appropriate method suitable to deal with the complex narrative structure of the novel.

This study is informed by the cultural-critical approach which seeks to balance the aesthetic, cultural and historical aspects in a literary text. The current study aims at analyzing transformations of the writing concept adopted by contemporary Egyptian short story writers through three waves: early 20th century, the 'Gallery 1967' magazine writers, and the 1990s writers, focusing on how they employ writing techniques to combat social and political discrimination.
