As open data becomes an increasingly key practice in research, understanding how data are used is becoming essential to inform data policies and facilitate inclusion of data in research assessment. Different groups have started categorizing uses for their own purposes, but the community lacked consensus on how to conceptualize the types of uses of datasets. This hinders comparison of reports on the uses of data, and their transferability into evaluation processes. A method (300) for distributed event queue processing includes receiving events via an application programming interface (208) and storing the events in a partitioned database queue backed by a relational database. The method includes periodically discovering queues with pending events using a query that performs atomic detection of queue enumeration and pending event status without cache-based timestamp tracking. Queue partitions are assigned to readers using epoch-based coordination and leader election. The method includes processing queues using a shared thread pool with circulating reader tasks and adaptive backoff. Generating A Telemetry-Addressable Specification For Professional Services Engagement Scope Validation And Execution Tracking, Chady Saad, Larone Gardner, Tim Barnes

Proposed herein is a system that automatically translates the scope of a professional services consulting engagement into a structured telemetry specification, referred to herein using a construct called a Telemetry Pack, that can be validated against a customer's actual product telemetry data. Instead of relying on manual status reports and consultant self-assessments, the system determines whether the engagement is achieving its intended product adoption outcomes by checking what the customer's product environment actually shows. No prior system connects what a consulting engagement is supposed to achieve with automated, telemetry-based verification of whether it has achieved the criteria of the engagement.

In this nonpayment proceeding, the court dismissed the petition for failure to plead landlord's receipt of a Division of Alternative Management Programs (DAMP) and Article XI of the Private Housing Finance Law tax incentive administered by HPD, as required by RPAPL §741(4). The omission was prejudicial to tenant because the undisclosed regulatory agreement restricted the monthly rent landlord could legally charge and hampered tenant's ability to determine whether the legal regulated rent was correct. Amendment was not permitted upon a finding of prejudice.

Small-scale oceanic eddies and filaments mediate the vertical exchange of heat and carbon within the global ocean. The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission resolves these features through wide-swath interferometry, but internal tides often mask these observations. Non–phase-locked internal tides present special difficulty because they vary with the evolving ocean background. We show that this chaotic variability can be predicted. We use a data-assimilative ocean forecast model to resolve the mesoscale environment and separate tidal signals from the broader circulation. The model captures the organized structure of these incoherent waves in the independent SWOT measurements. Correcting for the total …

Disaster Justice: Queer And Disabled Mobilities And Infrastructures Of Care In The Pacific Northwest, Rachel Springer

This dissertation examines the social, political, and environmental pressures that drive LGBTQ+ migration to the Pacific Northwest and the social infrastructures people find on arrival. Drawing on thirty-four semi-structured interviews with LGBTQ+ adults who relocated between 2022 and 2025, it argues that these movements are best understood as responses to slow-onset disasters produced by the compounding interaction of legislative targeting and infrastructural violence.

State-level legislation targeting LGBTQ+ people—particularly transgender individuals—has fractured the geography of safety in the U.S., producing a landscape where civil rights, healthcare access, and everyday security vary dramatically across space. For those navigating these conditions at the …

The study addressed the following research questions: What is the genre of the Gospels and the resulting hermeneutic? Does current Christ-centered preaching account for his hermeneutic? Does Christological research account for intrinsic characteristics? What is the intrinsic Christology of Mark’s Gospel? This article examines why post-conflict autonomy consolidates into durable self-governance in some cases while remaining fragile and externally dependent in others. While Aceh has maintained stable self-governance since the 2005 Helsinki Agreement, Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council remains a fragmented authority sustained by external patronage. To explain this divergence, the article develops the Sustainable Autonomy Framework (SAF) and asks: under what conditions does post-conflict autonomy become viable and sustainable? The SAF argues that durability depends on the alignment of three mutually reinforcing pillars: elite legitimacy, resource sovereignty, and mediation credibility. Vitamin D–mediated regulation of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) is an important focus in innate immunology and is aimed at elucidating the role of vitamin D in enhancing antimicrobial defense. AMPs are short protein chains that serve as a first line of defense against invading pathogens, including fungi, bacteria and viruses. Unlike conventional antibiotics, AMPs are produced endogenously and are less likely to induce antimicrobial resistance, making them promising candidates for treating infections caused by drug-resistant pathogens. Studies indicate that optimal vitamin D levels are essential for activating antimicrobial pathways and regulating AMPs that target multiple fungal pathogens. This article summarizes recent …

Detecting AI-generated images requires reasoning across multiple levels of evidence, ranging from low-level statistical artifacts to high-level semantic inconsistencies. Existing approaches typically rely on a single class of signals or emphasize complex multi-agent coordination, which limits robustness under distribution shifts and common image degradations. We propose a reliability-aware Mixture-of-Agents (MoA) framework that treats Vision-Language Model (VLM) agents and computational features as complementary experts and aggregates their predictions based on empirically calibrated reliability. Autoregulation Of Three Yeast Ribosomal Protein Genes By Splicing Inhibition, David Granas, Anirudh Kesanapally, Michael A White, Gary D Stormo

Yeast ribosomal protein genes RPL18B, RPL28, and RPS22B are autoregulated by inhibition of splicing. This is demonstrated by inserting their introns into a chromosomal copy of GFP and observing repression upon induction of the cognate protein. In RPL18B and RPS22B, a predicted conserved secondary structure within the intron is required for regulation, while in RPL28, it is not.

This note examines California's Protecting Our Kids from Social Media Addiction Act (SB 976), signed into law in September 2024, which prohibits personalized algorithmic feeds on minors' accounts without pa- rental consent and restricts platform notifications during school hours and nighttime. Drawing on the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association and related federal litigation, this note argues that SB 976 is unconstitutional under the First Amendment. Specifically, SB 976 is underinclusive because it fails to meaning- fully reduce minors' screen time, exempts comparable addictive plat- forms, and permits the very algorithmic feeds it deems harmful upon parental …

In Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, the Supreme Court abandoned the Lemon test and replaced it with a framework grounded in historical practices and understandings. Yet lower courts have struggled to operationalize that standard, and some have continued to rely on Stone v. Graham, a brief 1980 per curiam opinion rooted entirely in Lemon, as controlling precedent. This Article argues that Stone cannot survive Kennedy’s wholesale repudiation of Lemon and its progeny. This article considers whether United States v. Booker, the 2005 Supreme Court decision that replaced the then-mandatory federal sentencing guidelines system with an advisory scheme, had any enduring impact on sentencing outcomes. Commemorating Booker’s recent twentieth anniversary requires a balancing act: at once, recognizing the decision’s watershed impact while avoiding claims of lasting change where little exists. The criminal defense community hailed the ruling as a kind of liberation from the guidelines’ dispassionate rigidity. Congress has undertaken some of its broadest reforms of military courts-martial in decades. The creation of the Special Trial Counsels (STCs) intentionally removes nearly all courts-martial powers from military commanders for “covered offenses,” some of the most serious prosecutions. Many commentators have expressed concern that this change untethers the courts-martial system from its historical anchor of discipline within the military—an anchor that the Supreme Court has used to grant exceptional deference to Congress for its legislation pursuant to the Make Rules Clause. In his essay, Mark David Hall presents an overview of Christian scholarship on the question of whether the War for American Independence is biblical and just. He then considers Romans 13 and shows that Protestants, especially Calvinists, came to interpret these verses to permit active resistance to tyrannical rulers. Finally, he discusses the conflict in light of the just war tradition and contends that the patriots had excellent reasons to believe their active resistance was biblical and just.

The questions of whether the American Revolution was biblical and whether it was just may be necessarily intertwined. If it was biblical, then it was just.
