Autism has effects on social, communication, and information processing factors (American Psychological Association, 2022; Happé & Frith, 2006). Sentence processing is a type of information processing that synthesizes both discourse and local information (e.g., syntactic and morphological). This thesis explores potential effects of autistic traits on sentence processing in the context of adjunct control structures. In a two-part study, adult English L1 participants (n=118) were administered a self-paced-reading (SPR) task with comprehension and acceptability questions for task 1. This work explores the tribological properties of choline amino acid protic ionic liquids (PILs) as environmentally friendly lubricants under high temperatures and electrified conditions. These conditions are found in the automotive sector, notably in internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs). Lubrication technologies are vital to improving the efficiency and operating lifetime of moving components in automotive drivetrains. The use of ionic liquids (ILs) is actively being researched, with ongoing exploration of their lubricating potential and unique physicochemical characteristics. In this nonpayment proceeding, the court granted tenant's motion for summary judgment on the affirmative defense that landlord was barred from collecting rent pursuant to MDL §§301 and 302. Tenant established, without opposition, that the Department of Buildings had issued at least twelve open violations for occupancy contrary to the building's certificate of occupancy. Pursuant to Chazon, LLC v Maugeneset, 19 NY3d 410 (2012), such violations are prima facie evidence of noncompliance, and the absence of compliance precludes landlord from maintaining a nonpayment proceeding.

This qualitative study employed collaborative narrative inquiry, informed by autoethnographic reflection, to examine how sustained intercultural engagement through Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) shaped my evolving educator identity, self-efficacy, and enactment of globally responsive teaching within a rural elementary classroom. Guided by McAdams’ Narrative Identity Theory and supported by Bandura’s Self-Efficacy Theory, the study explored how long-term intercultural relationships and reflective dialogue influenced my understanding of teaching, learning, belonging, and global citizenship.

Scholarship across youth social policy, child welfare, media studies, and criminology has documented media driven moral panic, racial disproportionality in child welfare involvement, and foster-care-to-prison pathways as related but individual, distinct phenomena. Similarly, critical frameworks by Alexander and Ritchie trace how mass incarceration unfolds across marginalized communities, yet often begin analysis at points of formal criminal legal contact.

Abstract – Bactrocera dorsalis is a major horticultural pest. Biocontrol using parasitoids, such as Fopius arisanus, is a sustainable tool for managing this pest. However, the mechanisms enabling the successful parasitism of B. dorsalis are poorly understood. Using transcriptomic profiling, cellular bioassays, and targeted metabolite analyses, we investigated how F. arisanus modulates the immunity and metabolic activity of B. dorsalis to achieve a high parasitism rate. Our results revealed a weak and late encapsulation response of B. dorsalis towards F. arisanus. Additionally, parasitism reduced the number of circulating haemocytes by 35%, lowered constitutive granulocyte counts and inhibited phenoloxidase activity in …

Family involvement is essential for positive school outcomes. Yet research suggests that family engagement for students with disabilities may be marked by conflict. Furthermore, creating an environment that promotes active engagement for immigrant families may be challenging. In this paper, we synthesize existing research, legal guidance, and community-engaged insights to present four practice-oriented recommendations for educators and practitioners working with immigrant families of children with disabilities. Grounded in Hans and Love’s stages of immigrant family engagement, these recommendations aim to support meaningful and culturally responsive participation in special education processes.

Azzedine Kettani examines the doctrine of lesion (laesio)—gross economic imbalance in a contract—within the Moroccan DOC. He notes that the DOC provides no definition of lesion, nor do other codes. Rather than merely measuring the "wrinkles" of this aging code, Kettani seeks to explore a part of the DOC that has remained intact not because of its robust constitution, but because it has rarely been invoked. Some might argue the DOC was born handicapped, and jurisprudence has failed to improve its deficiencies regarding lesion. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), the most prevalent aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma, exhibits substantial molecular heterogeneity and arises from germinal center or post-germinal center B cells through recurrent genetic and epigenetic dysregulation of critical signaling pathways. Aberrations involving BCL6, MYC, MYD88, and components of B cell receptor and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κ B) signaling play central roles in lymphomagenesis, treatment resistance, and clinical outcomes. Hands-on engineering design can help bridge the gap between theoretical coursework and real-world engineering practice, particularly during the middle years of undergraduate programs. This paper presents the implementation and outcomes of an open-ended final project in ELEC 310: Embedded Systems Design at the University of San Diego. Student teams designed and prototyped smart environmental monitoring systems using STM32 microcontrollers, selecting sensors and defining system objectives under realistic constraints. Project outcomes were evaluated using prototype demonstrations, team technical reports, and post-project student reflections analyzed through inductive thematic analysis. HIV testing is still an important component of HIV prevention, and disparities persist among women in Ghana. This study examines psychosocial and socio-demographic factors influencing HIV testing behavior, using data from the 2022 Ghana Demographic and Health Survey. A binary logistic regression result revealed that older, more educated, and wealthier women, and women who utilized HIV test kits, exhibit a much higher likelihood of undergoing HIV testing. Awareness of HIV stigma reduces the likelihood of women undergoing testing. Variations existed depending on the place of residence. Women in rural and northern belts were less likely to undergo testing. Marital status, …

This dissertation presents transcriptions of three nineteenth-century opera arie for oboe and string quintet as a means of engaging and adding to the instrument’s relatively limited Romantic-era repertoire. While the eighteenth and twentieth centuries produced substantial bodies of work for the oboe, the nineteenth-century reflects a noticeable reduction in solo and chamber compositions, influenced by factors including slower mechanical development, and aesthetic-related acoustic constraints.
