Nitric oxide is a gaseous air pollutant which is a precursor to nitrogen oxides and in the atmosphere it reacts chemically with gaseous hydrocarbons to form other photochemical contaminants such as ozone (O3), peroxyacetal nitrate (PAN) and other photochemical oxidants. Non thermal plasma methods namely, electron beam and dielectric barrier discharge have been studied as promising methods to control NO/ NOx. Basically both methods run as plasma oxidation process where excited electrons produce radicals that will oxidize the targeted pollutants. This study addressed and described the spiritual experiences in the psychotherapeutic process. The heuristic inquiry approach was applied to explore the relationship between the clients’ and the therapist’s spiritual experiences with the transpersonal self. The study consisted of seven participants, women aged over 35 who had gone through at least seven psychotherapy sessions with the researcher / therapist. The Satir systemic therapy, existential therapy, the hypnotherapy and expressive arts therapy were among the psychotherapy approaches that generate the spirituality of the participants to connect with the self. ‘Malaysia My Second Home’ is an international retirement migration (IRM) programme aimed at attracting the lucrative retiree market to choose Malaysia as their residence. Despite the widely researched IRM studies in the Western context, limited knowledge is available on the participants’ motivation, satisfaction, and post-satisfaction intentions (i.e. exit, voice, loyalty, neglect). Relationships among variables have also not been empirically established. This study investigates the role firm characteristics plays in explaining gender wage inequality. Prior research has mainly explored two strands to explain inequality in the labour market. The first, carried out primarily by sociologists and feminists, attempts to explain gender discrimination by showing that females are segregated into lower paying occupations while higher paying occupations are being dominated by males. Analisis telah dijalankan terhadap 149 set dialog yang dikumpulkan daripada keseluruhan buku ‘Rihlah Ibn Battutah’ (2002). A growing interest on lasers operating in the eye-safe two micron spectral region especially on dual-wavelength and pulse operations for a variety of applications motivated this PhD work. The scope of this thesis focuses on the development of new fiber lasers, which incorporates Thulium fiber as either gain medium or saturable absorber. At first, all-fiber dual-wavelength 2 μm fiber lasers are demonstrated based on three simple approaches; spatial filtering effect, inline microfiber Mach Zehnder Interferometer (MMZI) and multimode interference effect. A commercial granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorbent was modified through an oxidation–amination process in an effort to increase its surface basicity and consequently enhance its CO2 adsorption capacity. To optimize the amination conditions of activated carbon adsorbents the effects of amination temperature, amination time, and the type of starting materials (variables) on the CO2 adsorption/desorption capacities of the adsorbents (responses) were investigated using a central composite design. The use of a pre-oxidized sorbent as a starting material and amination at 425 ºC for 2.1 h were found to be the optimum conditions for obtaining an efficient carbon dioxide adsorbent. The …
