This study examines the effectiveness of ChatGPT-4 in enhancing L2 Chinese learners' vocabulary and grammar acquisition within a flipped classroom setting, focusing on its impact on learning outcomes, student motivation, and associated challenges. Conducted over 10 weeks, the study involved 19 native English speakers enrolled in a third-year Chinese course at a U.S. university. The experimental group (n = 11) used ChatGPT to self-study six target words and five grammar structures before attending Tuesday and Thursday sessions, while the control group (n = 8) followed a textbook-based approach. Dehydrins (DHNs) are hydrophilic, glycine-rich proteins that accumulate in vegetative tissues of plants in response to abiotic stress and during the late stages of seed maturation. In desert plants, these proteins likely contribute to their specialized adaptation under extreme environmental conditions. This paper presents the microwave curing method as an alternative to conventional thermal curing of hybrid (fly ash-slag) geopolymer mortars (GMs) to achieve comparable performance with significantly reduced curing times. This study aimed to ascertain the impact of varying nano-silica contents (0.5%, 0.75%, and 1%) on the geopolymer matrix to identify the optimal dosage for enhancing densification and bond improvement phases. This study examined the influence of long-term curing duration on the properties of geopoly- mers produced through the geopolymerization reaction between Datça Pozzolan and sodium silicate and potassium hydroxide solutions. The specimens were heat cured at 90 °C, 95±5% RH for 24 h initially and then kept under ambient conditions until the tests were conducted at 7, 90, and 365 days. The results showed that applied initial heat curing was appropriate to achieve high early and long-term strength. The study evaluated and compared the influence of bitumen modification for sustainable as- phalt using waste plastic (Polyethylene Terephthalate, PET) and waste Polystyrene (PS) at 5–50% modification levels. Rice husk ash (RHA) and desilted sand were used as filler and fine aggregate with crushed granite as coarse aggregate. In addition, one of the most significant advantages of geopolymer concrete is the high setting speed that can be achieved with thermal curing, that is, the short curing period. This study proposed a practical seismic retrofit method for RC frames. For this purpose, a quasi-static loading was applied to 8 RC frames in finite element analysis software, Abaqus, and frames were pushed 45 mm laterally. High-strength fiber-reinforced lightweight concrete panels strengthened infill walls inside the RC frames. To apply them to the walls, epoxy binder and polyurethane binder were used, and their behavior was compared. Using panels increased the lateral load capacity of the whole frame according to the numerical analysis performed with Abaqus. An experimental study was herein presented focusing the effect of different type, shape and volume fraction of fibers on the hardened properties of concrete including compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strengths at 7 and 28 curing days. A control concrete mixture with no fiber was prepared and six fiber reinforced concrete mixtures were designed by using two different types of fibers which were steel fibers with different shapes (short straight and hooked end) and polypropylene fiber with the volume fraction of 0.4% and 0.8%.
