The Exceptions Clause of Article III of the Constitution is clear that “Congress” “shall make” the rules prescribing the Court’s “appellate jurisdiction.” And so Congress did for almost 150 years. But in the twentieth century, Congress delegated its power to the Supreme Court in the form of—as Chief Justice Taft demanded—”absolute and arbitrary” discretion to pick its appellate cases. Today, under the resulting certiorari regime, the Court enjoys that unbridled discretion in selecting its cases.

Because Congress delegated its power to the Court without articulating “an intelligible principle,” certiorari jurisdiction violates the nondelegation doctrine and is unconstitutional. This Article is …

In Harrington v. Purdue Pharma, the United States Supreme Court held that victims of the opioid crisis could not be forced to release their independent claims against the Sacklers, who owned and controlled Purdue, without the victims’ consent. Such releases had become a controversial mainstay of mass tort bankruptcy filings. Yet Purdue was decided on narrow, textualist grounds, leaving as a side effect many seemingly disparate and difficult questions unanswered. Aim: This scoping review summarizes evidence on the impact of environmental factors on breast cancer risks and outcomes.

Methodology: A systematic search was performed on PubMed, CINAHL, and ScienceDirect to identify peer-reviewed, English-only sources published between 2020 and 2025 on the impact of lifestyle factors on breast cancer risk and outcomes.

Results: A total of 15 studies (three cohort studies, two cross-sectional studies, five systematic reviews, four narrative reviews, and one case-controlled study) met the inclusion criteria. This research examines the paradoxical relationship between the destruction of religious buildings in Ukraine during the Russian invasion and the effectiveness of Russian propaganda narratives. Using a mixed-methods approach combining statistical data, sociological surveys, and document analysis, we investigate how the systematic targeting of Ukrainian religious sites by Russian forces has produced effects contrary to those likely intended. This article revisits the method of introspection as a valuable tool for studying religious experience in Estonia, where spirituality is often personal, unaffiliated, and deeply introspective. Drawing on the legacy of the Dorpat school—particularly Karl Girgensohn—it highlights how experimental introspection can illuminate the dimensions of faith. Considering Estonia’s post-Soviet religious individualization, the method offers a culturally fitting and academically rigorous approach. The study argues for the revival and adaptation of introspective techniques to explore the inner dynamics of belief in a secular yet spiritually curious society.

This article examines the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) as a key instrument of hybrid warfare against Ukraine. It analyzes the ROC's primary strategies for influencing Ukraine's information space, particularly through religious rhetoric manipulation and the exploitation of ecclesiastical structures to disseminate pro-Kremlin narratives. The study identifies key mechanisms of the ROC's media influence, including direct control over religious media outlets, active participation of clergy in promoting Russian propaganda narratives, financial backing of pro-Russian media projects, and systematic disinformation campaigns about Ukraine's religious landscape.

The Context

On August 20, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Bill #8371, “On the Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Sphere of Activity of Religious Organizations,” passed by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s legislature. As a measure of wartime national security its provisions include a ban on the staunchly pro-Putin Russian Orthodox Church. It also requires the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), historically subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate, to sever all ties with its parent church and to prevent its congregations from abetting the Russian war effort against Ukraine.

After lengthy negotiations that began in the 1940s between the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) and the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC) regarding the latter’s autocephaly, the Holy Synod of the SOC initially rejected the decisions of the Initiative Council for the formation of the Macedonian Church. However, at a later stage, the SOC revised its stance, and by 1959, it not only recognized the existence of the Macedonian Church but also granted it the right to independent organization and governance in the form of autonomy. Background/Objectives: Lurasidone ((3aR,4S,7R,7aS)-2-{(1R,2R)-2-[4-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)piperazin-1-ylmethyl]cyclohexylmethyl}hexahydro-4,7-methano-2H-isoindole-1,3-dione) is a second-generation antipsychotic approved for schizophrenia and mood disorders. Adolescents and children with bipolar disorder receive treatments that expose them to weight gain and metabolic syndrome. Lurasidone is relatively free from such side effects, so it may constitute a useful alternative for the treatment of these patients. We focused on the use of lurasidone in children and adolescents with bipolar disorder.

Plant genotype is known to affect plant-invertebrate interactions. However, in megadiverse tropical habitats there has been relatively little exploration of the influence of the plant genotype on plant growth and biotic interactions in an experimental setting. We set-up three adjacent plots in rainforest at the foothills of the Andes (Orellana, Ecuador), where we planted clones of 37 individual Heliconia stricta rhizomes collected from up to 4 km away. The court found that although the tenant's affidavit raised an issue regarding a lack of first-class mailing that could have warranted a hearing, she waived her personal jurisdiction defense by asserting an unrelated counterclaim for harassment. Unlike the assumptions of classical rational choice theory, decision-makers are far less rational and not always self-interested. Decision-makers normally have less than perfect information, face limited time to make decisions, fall into cognitive biases, and reciprocate. Behavioural economics argues that decision-makers typically face bounded rationality and adopt simple, intuitive “rules of thumb” instead of calculating optimal solutions for every decision they make.

This paper examines smallholder farmers‘ access to and use of informal credits for climate change adaptation in Hanang District, Tanzania. The paper used bivariate probit model to analyze data. The results reveal that about 75% of respondents indicated to have access to informal credit, with 68.3% actively employing credit in agriculture for climate change adaptation. The bivariate probit regression analysis shows that having good relationships with other farmers and neighbors or relatives, along with a lower perception of risk, are the most important factors that affect access and use of informal credit for climate change adaptation.
