Belitic calcium sulfoaluminate (BCSA) cement concrete has gained popularity due to advantages over portland cement (PC), including, its fast-setting, high early strength gain, high durability, and reduced global warming potential. Though primarily used for pavement repair, it has good potential for structural applications. Building codes like ACI 318:19 permit alternative cement materials like BCSA cement if they can be shown to have adequate and predictable structural, durability, and fire performance comparable to PC concrete. This study examined the relationship between principal leadership behaviors and teacher leadership opportunities in grade 6 – 8 middle schools in South Texas, with a focus on understanding how leadership structures influence teacher engagement and voice. Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data, the research found that informal teacher leadership in grade 6 – 8 middle schools in South Texas is significantly more common than formal leadership roles, with peer collaboration emerging as the primary avenue for leadership engagement. Social participation is a key determinant of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs), yet how individuals with NDDs engage socially to support their HRQoL remains poorly understood. This phenomenological investigation examined occupational therapy faculty preparedness for teaching culturally responsive care to entry-level doctorate students in Texas. Despite Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) mandates requiring cultural competence education, significant gaps persist between regulatory requirements and faculty readiness to deliver such instruction effectively. The study explored three interrelated dimensions: (1) faculty perceptions of their preparedness to teach cultural competence, (2) institutional training and support mechanisms, and (3) pedagogical integration strategies for culturally responsive content.

Throughout the thesis, it is argued that the most critical developments in the United States during these presidencies were connected to diplomatic relations with the French along with each leaders own private, but often public, perceptions of the French. Mitochondria play a pivotal role in metabolic energy production, cellular signaling, and apoptosis. To carry out these key cellular roles, mitochondria dynamically balance their organization through opposing including fusion and fission processes. The balance between mitochondrial fusion and fission is regulated by key proteins such as OPA1 (optic atrophy 1) and OMA1 (overlapping activity with metalloprotease). More recently, mitochondria have been increasingly revealed to play key roles in cellular differentiation, where metabolic demands are reprogrammed. This study aims to elucidate the specific roles of OPA1 and OMA1 in the differentiation of C2C12 myoblast cells into myotubes.

Reczek and Bosley-Smith (2022) identified several reasons why queer adult children reported feeling compelled to maintain relationships with their rejecting parents, and the strategies that they utilized to do so. The construct of legitimization exists within a heteronormative context, contributing to the theory that adherence to cis-heteronormative relational ideals allows same-gender couples to have a greater chance of being accepted by the dominant culture (Chevrette & Eguchi, 2020). Sullivan is a landmark Supreme Court decision that significantly expanded protection for the press under the First Amendment by limiting public officials’ ability to sue for defamation. The ruling established the “actual malice” standard, requiring public officials to prove that defamatory statements were made with knowledge of their falsity or with reckless disregard for the truth. We examine whether large-scale information interventions can improve college application outcomes in a centralized admissions system. Using nationwide surveys from Chile, we document widespread information frictions and frequent application mistakes, such as omitting attainable preferred programs or failing to include safety options. To address these frictions, we partnered with the Ministry of Education to implement a large-scale field experiment that provided applicants with personalized information on admission probabilities and program characteristics through customized online platforms. The intervention increased the probability that previously unmatched students received an assignment by 44% and improved placement into higher-ranked programs by 20%. Building on these …

Four years after the occurrence of the 2020 El Dorado Fire, Yucaipa Ridge and the surrounding communities of Oak Glen and Forest Falls still experience the devastation caused by debris flows. Wildfires can instigate a series of events leading to hydrophobic soils, loss of vegetation, and increased sediment availability which amplify post-fire debris flow risks. This study tested the hypothesis that post-wildfire geomorphic changes can be accurately quantified and predicted using high-resolution LiDAR-derived digital elevation models. Method: The study included 64 subjects from a previous genetic association study among male patients who were on atorvastatin. The study was carried out at HUSM, Kelantan, Malaysia from December 2023 to October 2024. This analysis evaluates the impact of California’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), which was implemented in 2006 to increase access and improve quality of mental health care for Californians. Difference-in-differences analyses were applied to evaluate the impact of the MHSA on the number of poor mental health days in the past month (PMHDs) that survey respondents had self-reported, relative to a control group with similar pre-policy trends. Using survey data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), this study found that the MHSA’s full implementation is associated with California respondents reporting 0.118 fewer poor mental health days in the …
