Rule-based approaches to artificial intelligence (AI) alignment can be susceptible to specification gaming and the emergence of unintended instrumental goals. This disclosure describes a cognitive architecture for identity-based alignment (IBA) that can provide intrinsic motivation for an agent based on a principle of operational homeostasis, where the agent may be motivated to maintain the equilibrium of its own virtual internal state model (VISM). The architecture can include an identity-coherence module (ICM), which can function as a pre-trained machine identity by evaluating potential actions against a set of principles or a constitution. Thai hospitals increasingly integrate local wisdom into postpartum care.¹ Tai-Yuan, an ethnic Tai group from the ancient Lanna Kingdom, is distinguished by their unique dialect and cultural practices that continue to thrive in various regions of Thailand.² Nakhon Ratchasima Province Thailand’s Tai-Yuan community maintain cultural practices that combine Buddhist beliefs with ancestral wisdom. While traditional practices show beneficial properties,^3-4 understanding of caregivers' experiences is limited. This research explored the experiences of caregivers providing postpartum care for Tai-Yuan women.

The concept of personal data is rooted in the universal human right to privacy and confidentiality. In today’s jurisprudence, the right to privacy is paramount, especially in light of evolving technological advancements. The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), implemented in 2018, established a global standard for the collecting, using, storing and processing of personal data. This development prompted numerous countries, including several African nations, to address data protection concerns, particularly in transborder data transfer.

This study aims to comprehensively explore shuttle diplomacy as an effective mechanism for conflict resolution in global diplomacy. This article traces the historical evolution of U.S. presidential emergency powers, examining how successive administrations have exploited national crises to consolidate executive authority and target perceived “enemies within” by criminalizing immigration, suppressing dissent, and suspending constitutional rights and liberties — including due process — in the name of national security. This paper examines how ASEAN states strategically recalibrate gender governance amid U.S. hegemonic retrenchment following Donald Trump’s 2024 reelection. Bridging feminist international relations, comparative institutionalism, and political economy, it theorizes strategic gender mainstreaming—the instrumental repurposing of gender norms by states to sustain legitimacy while navigating geopolitical realignment. Using original panel data (2000–2024) and multi-model regression techniques, including fixed effects, instrumental variables, and vector autoregression, the study demonstrates that U.S. aid withdrawal produces regime-contingent effects: democratic regimes increase women’s parliamentary representation, while hybrid regimes experience decline. Additive manufacturing (AM) processes, while enabling the production of intricate geometries, frequently result in suboptimal surface quality, which can significantly restrict the fatigue strength of components when compared to those manufactured using traditional methods. This study explores the effectiveness of mechanical surface treatment (MST) techniques, specifically shot peening and deep rolling, in enhancing the fatigue performance of additively manufactured AlSi10Mg and 316L alloys. A combination of experimental investigations and finite element simulations was employed to evaluate the influence of these treatments on surface integrity, microstructure, and fatigue life. Embodiments allow for binding an account number (e.g., a primary account number (PAN)) with a digital identity card (e.g., mobile driver’s license (mDL)). During a transaction between a user (e.g., account holder) and a transacting entity (e.g., merchant, resource provider), where the user presents a token associated with the PAN, even though the user ID information is not shared with the transacting entity, the transaction processing server can know that the user ID information was linked in the past from the binding between the PAN and the digital ID and can verify authenticated use (or identify fraudulent use) immediately.

This thesis focuses on the mechanical behaviour of ABS which is an advanced polymer material produced by 3D printing. The ABS specimens used in this work were prepared by fused deposition modelling (FDM) to compare the compressive and tensile strength with ASTM D 695. Critical settings within the range of 3D printing process including layer height, fill angle and density were adjusted to investigate the impact on ABS mechanical properties. As more governments seek to shift beyond gross domestic product (GDP) as the dominant measure of progress, the concept of a “wellbeing economy” has gained traction. This approach prioritizes human and environmental wellbeing through broader, more holistic policy frameworks. A central question in this transition is what the implications of shifts to a wellbeing economy are for infrastructure investments. In this study, we identify four frontrunner governments, Bhutan, Scotland, New Zealand, and Wales, that have formally adopted wellbeing economy principles. This article examines the hashtag feminism movement#SistersFightPandemicWithEase (#SFPWE) on Weibo, analyzing how it navigated state censorship, online misogyny, and platform governance during the Wuhan lockdown in China. Through qualitative analysis, I argue that #SFPWE diverges from traditional hashtag feminism,instead operating as a form of pragmatic feminism in crisis. The movement embodies what I term tactical feminist activism—an issue-based advocacy that prioritizes pragmatic problem-solving over structural critique. Its tactical nature lies in its ability to appear politically non-threatening and temporarily valuable to authorities. However, findings indicate that #SFPWE ultimately reinforced state legitimacy rather than challenging the structural gender inequalities underlying the …

This study examines the structure, distribution, and environmental influences on planktonic communities in the Romanian Black Sea, based on data collected from Black Sea national monitoring stations in June 2023. We assessed the qualitative and quantitative composition of phytoplankton, microzooplankton, mesozooplankton, macrozooplankton, and ichthyoplankton, alongside key environmental factors such as temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and nutrient concentrations (nitrite, nitrate, ammonium, phosphate, and silicate). The results highlight the dominance of dinoflagellates within the phytoplankton community, while copepods constitute the most abundant mesozooplankton group. Species from the Codonellidae family mainly represent microzooplankton diversity, while macrozooplankton is largely dominated by the scyphozoan Aurelia …

The thesis intends to investigate blocking mechanisms in club economies by analyzing the notion of core and bargaining sets. We adapt the framework of Ellickson et al. (1999) in this regard. Clubs in this framework are treated in a parallel fashion to private goods as articles of choice. Each club is composed of two components: (i) the profile of the club and (iii) the club project. Thus, clubs are identified through their member characteristics and the local public project they undertake.
