The present disclosure relates to a system for analyzing security vulnerabilities in blockchain wallet recovery mechanisms. The system includes a blockchain wallet configured with a plurality of distinct recovery agents, a model-checking framework operable to simulate various potential adversarial scenarios, and an interface to specify parameters such as agent reputation, transaction spending power, and user response probability. Additionally, the security assessment output visually indicates secure and insecure configurations of the blockchain wallet based on interactions among the recovery agents. Furthermore, the model-checking framework simulates diverse adversarial conditions, generating an assessment matrix that highlights potential risks associated with different agent configurations. …

In 2023, the Fourth Circuit in Carrera v. E.M.D. Sales split from its sister courts by requiring employers to prove by clear and convincing evidence that an employee is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”). The Supreme Court reversed the Fourth Circuit’s decision, resolving the split by holding that the preponderance of the evidence is the correct standard. This Note argues that the Fourth Circuit, despite failing to provide a justification for its heightened standard, was correct because it preserves the terms and spirit of the FLSA. Congress enacted the FLSA as a remedial statute aimed to alleviate …

Historically, courts tended to differentiate between invidious discrimination against racial minorities and benign discrimination against whites in the context of affirmative action movements. With the social movements galvanized by the conservatives and the change of composition of the Supreme Courts and lower courts, the feasibility of race-conscious measures aimed at helping minorities is substantially reduced. The conservatives’ win in Fearless, coupled with the Trump Administration’s attacks on DEI, have produced a self-censoring effect on charitable organizations. Because of these threats, race-conscious charities will have to modify their practices to become more “inclusive” or face legal challenges from conservatives.

In March 2025, the President removed two commissioners of the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”). The removed commissioners called the removals unlawful and challenged them in court, citing the FTC Act’s for-cause removal protection and the Supreme Court’s decision in Humphrey’s. After President Roosevelt removed an FTC commissioner, the Supreme Court in Humphrey’s in 1935 upheld the constitutionality of the FTC Act’s removal limitation based on the FTC being expert, nonpartisan/independent, quasi-judicial, and quasi-legislative. The Court in Seila in 2020 held that the President has “unrestricted removal power” as to the executive branch unless the Humphrey’s exception for “multimember expert …

However, in recent years, social media companies have started to adopt content moderation practices that are directly influenced by government pressure to comply with their requests to arrange information. Hydropower Dams, Deforestation, And Land Use Change: Evidence From Brazil, Chiara Falco, Valentina Raimondi

In Brazil, hydropower generates more than 60% of the national electricity supply, placing the country among the most hydropower-dependent economies worldwide. This study analyses the causal impact of dam construction on forest loss in Brazil using a new municipality-level panel dataset covering 379 dams, combined with high-resolution satellite data on forest coverage, among other variables. Applying modern staggered difference-indifferences estimators and a dynamic event study, we find that dams reduce forest cover by almost 9% percent in the municipality. No anticipatory effects are detected, but postconstruction losses increase steadily over time. Mechanism show that forest loss occurs mainly through cropland …

Last month, the International Court of Justice rebuked Israel in an advisory opinion for blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza during the course of the Israel-Hamas war there and emphasized that starvation of civilian populations as a method of warfare is prohibited under prevailing international humanitarian law. Predictably, Israel’s UN ambassador dismissed the advisory opinion as “shameful.”

When a child’s legal age can be judicially reclassified without rigorous procedural safeguards, the foundations of American due process erode. This article explores the alarming constitutional vacuum exposed by the case of Natalia Grace, an adopted Ukrainian child whose age was legally reclassified from eight to twenty-two without procedural safeguards such as a hearing, legal counsel, or evidentiary testing. Unlike competency or parental rights proceedings, re-aging decisions lack uniform standards, judicial transparency, or appellate recourse. This article argues that re-aging implicates fundamental liberty interests and must be governed by heightened due process protections. Drawing on comparative models from guardianship and …

This study focuses on turnover intention (ITQ) of U.S. information technology workers during the spring of 2020 and the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, we evaluate a number of turnover intention antecedents not previously studied together, including job alternatives, global job embeddedness, job satisfaction, compensation satisfaction, role overload, and work–life balance. We use three first-order factors of work interference with personal life, personal life interference with work, and work—personal life enhancement. We analyzed data using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling. Results suggest no direct effects from pay satisfaction or role overload on ITQ and …

In 1933, the Court, in Shepard v. United States, limited the “dying declaration” exception to the prohibition against hearsay. Shepard has been cited over 500 times by courts of appeal, the decision appears in evidence casebooks, and scholars have challenged it as robbing the voice of victims. However, there has never been a legal history of the decision. The case arose from a criminal conviction that occurred in the last days of the “Roaring Twenties,” and the appeal transited through the courts in the first years of the Great Depression. Sinkholes contributed to persistent human inhabitation of the northern Yucatán peninsula of Mexico for more than two millennia. Building on previous work on the use of sinkholes central to the town of Tahcabo and elsewhere in the Maya area, this study presents pollen, soil carbon isotope, radiocarbon, and artifactual evidence from four geomorphic features. They include the perennially wet cenote situated in the town center and three dry sinkholes (rejolladas) located in the commonly held lands (ejido) of the town. Family and consumer sciences (FCS) has a foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We developed a simple framework with three criteria to identify and evaluate family and consumer sciences Extension STEM resources. Results indicate that STEM resources are more readily available in certain family and consumer sciences content areas. This simple framework can be applied to other Extension program areas to strengthen and articulate STEM concepts.

Medication administration and safety constitute vital components of a nurse's clinical practice, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceuticals, informatics, and clinical judgment. Research indicates that up to 30% of newly licensed nurses are involved in medication errors, with 23% lacking the requisite competencies to make informed clinical decisions .1,2 Simulation offers an opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge within a controlled, risk-free environment, thereby enhancing clinical judgment and mitigating medication administration errors.3

This article explores a unique educational response to the racial and social tensions ignited by George Floyd’s death and the subsequent protests and civil unrest in 2020. Two professors at a small private college near Minneapolis/St. Paul collaboratively redesigned their American Literature to 1870 and American Civilization to 1877 courses, aiming to foster a space for civil discourse, critical inquiry, and social awareness among students. Employing Paulo Freire's concept of “conscientização” and Parker Palmer's vision of a community-centered classroom, the professors created a curriculum focused on primary sources and research-based journaling, which allowed students to critically examine America’s history of …

Black women college athletes navigate intersections of race, gender, and athletic ability within predominantly White institutions (PWIs). They can face stereotype threat, racialized academic expectations, and pressures to conform to dominant institution norms. This qualitative study explores the college experiences of Black women college athletes at a predominantly White institution (PWI), focusing on how intersecting oppressions and stereotypes influence their academic, social, and athletic lives. Guided by Black feminist thought (BFT) and stereotype threat theory, the research addresses two questions: What are the college experiences of BWCAs, and how do stereotypes affect these experiences?
