Polk signed legislation establishing the Smithsonian Institution, created from the bequest of British scientist James Smithson, as “an establishment for the increase and diffusion of knowledge.” Structurally, the Smithsonian occupies a unique legal status as a trust instrumentality of the United States: it is governed by a Board of Regents and a Secretary, is separate and distinct from governmental branches of the national government, and holds no regulatory authority beyond its own premises.  While courts have held that it is not a governmental agency, it shares immunity from state and local regulation and …

However, religious tourists’ data have rarely been explored specifically in segmentation studies. The Civil Court dismissed the petition, finding the landlord failed to establish a prima facie case as no lease was in effect, and acceptance of ERAP funds does not create an agreement under RPAPL 711(2) to pay rent. This study was conducted at a private, non-profit institution in the southern United States. Faculty and administrators who are often tasked with planning and developing new programs demonstrate excellent clinical expertise and experience; however, they sometimes lack experience in higher education leadership. The purpose of this qualitative study was to identify and describe the perspectives of Mississippi teachers on the professional learning support and outcomes associated with implementing high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) in their classrooms. Grounded in Vygotsky's sociocultural theory of cognitive development, this study surveyed eleven elementary teachers from a Mississippi school district to determine their perspectives on the professional learning support provided for an HQIM, based on their experiences, and its effects on student learning outcomes. Black female superintendents navigate education systems that were not built with them in mind creating unique challenges. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to investigate the challenges that Black female superintendents face while navigating local school boards. This study was informed by glass ceiling theory, gendered organizations theory, and a black feminist framework establishing a research base for this study’s focus. The purpose of this quantitative study was to examine the impact of exclusionary discipline methods on student achievement, with an emphasis on ethnic and socioeconomic differences. This study examined the impact of bilingual home literacy environments (HLEs) on the emergent literacy skills of Hispanic children enrolled in an after-school program in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Thirteen Spanish–English bilingual children in kindergarten through third grade and their parents participated. Parent-reported data were collected using an adapted Spanish–English Reading Questionnaire (SER-Q), and children’s literacy skills were assessed with the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) and the Spanish Reading Inventory–Second Edition (SRI-2). Intestinal macrophages are essential for epithelial barrier repair. In homeostasis, macrophages are continuously replenished by recruitment of circulating CCR2+ monocytes into the intestinal lamina propria. This requires the commensal microbiota, however, the specific microbial factors and downstream host pathways that coordinate macrophage replenishment are inadequately understood. Here, we show that colonization with an E. coli isolate increased CCR2+ macrophages in the intestine and ameliorated pathology in a colitis model. Using human colonic organoids, we showed E. coli colonization induced CCL2 secretion by intestinal epithelial stem cells which promoted monocyte migration. SF3B1 is an essential and ubiquitous splicing factor that plays a pivotal role in the early steps of pre-mRNA splicing. Recurrent somatic missense mutations in SF3B1 are frequent in cancers, but no constitutional variant has been reported so far. We describe here a cohort of 26 individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, harbouring SF3B1 constitutional heterozygous variants that appeared mostly de novo. Patients present with a global developmental delay, associated with variable neurological and facial dysmorphic traits. Using the explanatory research design the study applied the International Entrepreneurship theory and the Uppsala internationalisation process model, to specifically link the influence of internal, psychic distance and external factors to SMEs internationalisation of food crops in Tanzania. Effective knowledge translation ensures health care research has desired impacts – this is particularly important for Indigenous communities who have historically not benefited from research about and on them. Yet much knowledge translation in Indigenous contexts continues without community partnerships and disregards Indigenous values, languages and knowledge-sharing practices. Mangroves are globally important blue-carbon ecosystems, yet their resilience isthreatened by extreme weather events and hydrological alterations. Insoutheastern Mexico, a large mangrove die-off occurred in 1995 followingHurricane Roxanne and Tropical Storm Opal, linked to storm-surge–drivenhypersalinity, sedimentation, and prolonged flooding. In 2005, an ecologicalrestoration program was launched in the Términos Lagoon region, focusing onhydrological rehabilitation and reforestation with Avicennia germinans.
