Centralized ICT procurement is promoted as a means to improve efficiency and accountability, yet it often generates rigidity and frustration in developing-country contexts. This study investigates this paradox using South Africa’s State Information Technology Agency as an example affected by the broader challenges of digital governance in the Global South. Using an interpretivist, abductive approach, 55 semi-structured interviews with Government Information Technology Officers were analyzed thematically. Four patterns emerged: bureaucratic inefficiency, misalignment with departmental needs, workaround behavior and declining institutional legitimacy. Introduction. Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract are rare vascular lesions that can cause significant GI bleeding, posing a diagnostic challenge in clinical practice. This literature review examines the management strategies for AVMs in adults, focusing on identifying optimal treatment approaches and minimizing recurrence, particularly in Indonesia where no standardized treatment guidelines are available.

Method. A literature search was conducted from August 24, 2022, to September 11, 2023, using PUBMED®, Cochrane®, Proquest®, and Scopus® databases. The problem addressed in this study is that middle school teachers in Georgia Middle School Districts (GMSD, a pseudonym) face challenges integrating technology into their teaching. Guided by Mishra and Koehler’s technological pedagogical content knowledge framework, the purpose of this qualitative study was to explore teachers' perceptions of successes, challenges, and support needed to effectively integrate technology into their teaching at GMSD. Although childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is known to affect survivors’ subsequent self- esteem and interpersonal trust levels, its long-term impacts among African American women were not fully understood. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study, which was grounded in attachment theory and trauma theory, was to explore how CSA shapes African American women’s self-esteem, interpersonal trust, and healing processes in adulthood. To answer the study’s seven research questions, semistructured interviews were conducted with eight African American women. KRAS is frequently amplified or overexpressed in ovarian cancer and represents a potential therapeutic target for overcoming chemoresistance. We employed complementary approaches—CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, Tet-ON inducible knockdown, polypurine reverse Hoogsteen hairpin (PPRH) oligonucleotides, and the pan-KRAS inhibitor BI2865—to investigate whether KRAS modulation enhances chemotherapeutic efficacy in ovarian cancer models. CRISPR-mediated KRAS knockdown in SKOV-3 cells dramatically altered three-dimensional spheroid morphology, reducing the average area six-fold, and significantly enhanced sensitivity to both cisplatin and paclitaxel in 3D cultures, where paclitaxel resistance was completely reversed. The Tet-ON system demonstrated dose-dependent chemosensitization with optimal effects at intermediate KRAS knockdown levels (~50–60%). PPRH oligonucleotides …

Tandem repeats (TRs) play essential roles in a variety of biological functions, and their abnormal expansions are significantly implicated in phenotypic variation and cause >60 human diseases. However, long TR regions cannot be reliably detected using short-read sequencing, and long-read sequencing enables accurate genome-wide detection of TRs. In recent years, various computational tools have been developed to detect and genotype TRs from long-read data. In this survey, we systematically categorize and review 39 computational tools designed for TR detection, visualization and functional interpretation. A south-suburban Cook County, IL city lacks grocery stores with high-quality food options, which contributes to food insecurity. Residents often rely on highly processed, low-nutrient foods, contributing to nutritional vulnerability. Friendship Church’s food bank sporadically serves this food desert, but sustaining its operations is challenging. Using community-based participatory action research design and the food security theory, data were collected from 25 semistructured interviews with food bank beneficiaries and church staff/volunteers and analyzed using reflective thematic analysis. The aspects of translation acceptability are not related only to the accuracy and clarity of the translation. They also cover the naturalness of translation. This study aims to reveal the degree of translation naturalness of the Quranic imperative verses. This evaluative study compares the translations of the verses by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (MORA) and the one made by Muhammad Thalib (MT). The study used embedded case study research. The findings of the study show that in general, the translations of the verses in the two versions have an acceptable degree of naturalness. However, …
