Handwritten Opinion. This non-payment proceeding involved a tenant's motion for summary judgment based on rent-impairing violations. The court granted the tenant's motion, finding a rent-impairing violation under MDL § 302-a and awarding a 100% rent abatement for arrears accruing after July 2024. The tenant had properly pleaded the defense and deposited the rent amount, satisfying MDL § 302-a(3)(c). Despite the landlord's self-serving affidavit, HPD violation reports showed the condition remained uncorrected for over six months, warranting the abatement. The tenant's request for attorney's fees was denied as they were not the prevailing party and lacked a lease clause.

Objective: To evaluate capability of CT scan in diagnosing pulmonary diseases, identifying malignancy, and role of bronchoscopy in confirming or changing imaging diagnosis.

Method: A retrospective record-based cross-sectional study was performed evaluating data of all consecutive adult patients who had CT and bronchoscopies performed in a period of 2 years (between Jan. 2023 to Jan. 2025). Demographic, clinical symptoms, CT chest and bronchoscopy findings were recorded. Final diagnoses were based on clinical (improvement with time or resolution of symptoms with specific antimicrobial drugs), laboratory (bronchoalveolar lavage and biopsy, blood or sputum cultures) and imaging guided biopsies (where performed). Objective: To investigate the predictive value of inflammatory, liver, renal, and cardiac biomarkers in relation to the progression of multiorgan failure (MOF) in COVID-19 patients. A primary goal was to identify which of these markers served as the most discriminative predictors of disease severity.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was carried out between December 2020 and February 2023 to collect data from 1,803 COVID-19 patients from data records in different hospitals in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The ROC curve analysis evaluated the diagnostic and predictive performance of selected biomarkers.

Radiology artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing however its adoption faces fragile foundations that threaten sustainability. Despite bold promises of efficiency and accuracy, current deployment is undermined by weaknesses in economics, evidence, infrastructure, human factors, regulation, security, and environmental impact. Nearly 90% of radiology AI studies report process metrics rather than patient outcomes, while hidden costs elevate ownership to 400% to 500% of subscription fees. Technical fragilities include 25% or greater performance loss with routine protocol or scanner shifts, compounded by vendor consolidation that has eliminated 63% of companies since 2020, creating migration costs averaging 180,000 dollars per exit. It affects approximately 8.2% of children and adolescents globally and contributes significantly to the burden of chronic diseases in later life. Obese children are at increased risk of developing metabolic disorder cluster, type 2 diabetes (T2D), coronary artery disease (CAD), and psychosocial complications. El Salvador maintains one of the most restrictive abortion regimes globally. Abortion is prohibited in all circumstances, and women who undergo the procedure may face prosecution for aggravated homicide, punishable by sentences of up to fifty years’ imprisonment. Healthcare professionals who assist with such procedures can likewise face criminal liability, with penalties of up to twelve years of imprisonment. This Note analyzes the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ recent holding in Book People, Inc. v. Wong, which struck down Texas Education Code Chapter 35. Passed under the 88th Texas Legislature’s READER Act in 2023, Chapter 35 instituted a mandatory rating system that required Texas book vendors to review the books they sold to district schools and open-enrollment charter schools for sexually explicit material. Context: Arginine (Arg) is an important amino acid in T2D as a potent insulin secretagogue and precursor for nitric oxide (NO). Citrulline (Cit), the substrate for de novo Arg synthesis, is mostly produced from glutamine (Gln).

Objective: We aimed to investigate their metabolism in T2D using novel stable isotope tracer approach.

Methods: We studied 42 individuals (21 with T2D, 21 controls). After overnight fasting, blood samples were collected following pulse administration of stable amino acid tracers. Plasma concentrations and isotopic enrichments were measured by LC-MS/MS, and compartmental analyses were performed to calculate their whole-body production (WBP) rates and kinetics.

This research examined how Artificial intelligence (AI) has been embedded in project-based work, particularly in finance and software industries, where it enables efficiency and assists in complex decision-making. However, these innovations introduce significant ethical, privacy, and governance risks that traditional project risk management frameworks fail to adequately address. This study investigated how project managers can systematically integrate the management of these emerging risks into AI-enabled projects. Using a qualitative research design, the study drew on semi-structured interviews with project managers, compliance officers, and AI developers in finance, software and related sectors. Metal dyshomeostasis, particularly involving Cu2+, is increasingly recognized as a key contributor to amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation and neurotoxicity in Alzheimer’s disease, motivating the development of chelators capable of selectively disrupting pathogenic metal-Aβ interactions without perturbing essential biological metals. Here, we employ steady-state fluorescence anisotropy as a real-time probe of TAMRA-Aβ1–42 rotational mobility to quantify metal-induced aggregation and its reversibility by two chelators with distinct selectivities: EDTA, a broad-spectrum benchmark, and Ni-bme-dach, a sulfur-rich metallodithiolate with high Cu affinity. This article challenges the widespread perception of Heitor Villa-Lobos as an isolated peak in Brazilian musical culture with no natural successors. The author focuses on the composers who followed Villa-Lobos—Francisco Mignone, Oscar Lorenzo Fernandez, and Camargo Guarnieri—arguing that their works deserve far more attention in international concert life, not least their contributions to the guitar repertoire.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the types and outcomes of complications arising from aesthetic surgeries performed abroad and subsequently managed at Khoula Hospital, Muscat, Oman. Methods: This retrospective study included patients who presented with post-aesthetic surgical complications after undergoing procedures outside Oman from January 2013 to December 2023. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides unpaid, job‑protected leave only for eligible workers, and rules tied to hours, tenure, and employer size often exclude mothers working part-time. Research on U.S. family and medical leave has documented inequities in access to job protections. The lived experiences of African American/Black mothers navigating this gap remain underrepresented. The purpose of this narrative qualitative study was to explore the lived experiences of African American/Black mothers who worked part-time without mandated job protections, with specific attention to FMLA.
