A Hybrid Physics-Constrained Dnn Framework For Long-Term Cumulative Oil Production Forecasting, Mohamed H. Mohamed, Ghazwan N S Jreou
Engineering and Technology Journal
Accurate long-term forecasting of cumulative oil production (Np) is critical for effective reservoir management, reserve estimation, and field development planning. However, existing decline curve analysis (DCA) techniques have limited extrapolation capability, while data-driven artificial intelligence (AI) models tend to produce physically unreasonable cumulative production profiles when extrapolated beyond the data range. Specifically, conventional AI-based forecasting models may display unreasonable long-term forecasting characteristics because of their inability to leverage basic knowledge of reservoir physics. This paper presents a new physics-constrained deep learning model to improve long-term cumulative oil production forecasting and overcome the existing limitations and challenges. The proposed model combines …

The Governance Crucible: Institutional Logics And The Transformation Of Corporate Governance In Slovenia, Katarina Dvorski, Domagoj Hruška
Economic and Business Review
This study explores how institutional logics are enacted and recalibrated within corporate governance amid legitimacy challenges and organisational change. Set in Slovenia’s posttransition banking sector, it combines a symbolic–material ontology of institutions with a dual distinction between identity-based logics, grounded in values and organisational purpose, and activity-based logics, rooted in operational practice and performance. Drawing on elite–expert interviews and governance artefacts, the analysis traces how these logics interact across three phases of governance transformation—state stewardship, privatisation, and postprivatisation resilience. The findings show that governance is not merely a technical control system but a meaning-laden crucible where legitimacy is continually constructed …

The plain language of Nevada Short Trial Rules (NSTR) Rule 3(d) requires a district court judge to adjudicate objections to proposed judgments rather than a short trial judge, and public policy requires adjudication of any proposed NRCP 59 motions.

The Meaning Of The Practicum In Initial Teacher Training. The Educational Value Of Tutoring, María Pilar Sepúlveda-Ruiz, María José Mayorga-Fernández, Elena García-Vila
Higher Learning Research Communications
The theory-practice and practice-theory relationship is a fundamental axis in the learning of trainee teachers; therefore, the practicum must constitute the key element in their university training. The research described in this paper, in which students and teachers from the bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education and primary education programs at the University of Huelva in Spain have participated, has been carried out through a descriptive and interpretative qualitative study focused on case studies. This study highlights the need for greater communication between the work experience centers and the university and between the professionals who tutor the work experience period. …

Background and Objective:
While vaccination remains central to controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants with partial resistance to immune responses has highlighted the need for complementary therapeutic strategies. Among these, antiviral agents that inhibit viral entry mechanisms are of particular interest. Animal venoms, especially scorpion venoms, are a rich source of bioactive peptides with potential antiviral properties. This study aimed to evaluate peptides derived from the Moroccan scorpion Androctonus mauretanicus as inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein, which mediates virus entry into host cells via ACE2 receptor binding.
Material and Methodology:
Six peptides from the venom of the …

Author: Joshua Rovner
Reviewed by: John Erickson, senior engineer, Axiom Technologies
Joshua Rovner’s Strategy and Grand Strategy is a compelling and essential exploration of how nations succeed—or fail—when aligning military strategy with broader security goals. Through vivid historical case studies and sharp analysis, Rovner reveals how misunderstanding or ignoring the relationship between strategy (a theory of victory) and grand strategy (a theory of security) can lead to disastrous outcomes. This book is a must-read for anyone involved in national security, defense planning, or the study of statecraft in an era of technological and geopolitical complexity.

Communication Barriers Experienced By Academicians And International Students During The Education Process And Related Solutions, Ferhat Kaçar, Yusuf Taha Okan
Higher Learning Research Communications
Objective: In this study, we address the communication barriers between academics and international students using a phenomenological approach. The aim of the study is to examine in depth the communication barriers faced by these two groups in the education process and to develop solutions for these barriers.
Method: The qualitative data obtained from semi-structured interviews with 42 academics and 50 international students were analyzed using the MAXQDA 20 package program.
Results: In the study, four themes and sub-codes related to these themes were identified: (1) academics’ communications problems with international students, (2) solution suggestions for academics’ communication problems, (3) international …
