Molecular Dynamics Study Of Alpha-Synuclein Repeat Mutations And Sars-Cov-2 Nucleocapsid Linker Phosphorylation, Coby Yeung

The study aimed to utilize molecular dynamics (MD) simulation to investigate intrinsically disordered protein (IDP) molecules and regions, focusing on IDPs such as alpha-synuclein and the SAR-CoV-2 nucleocapsid linker segment and their variants. Methodologically, the research employed MD simulation with implicit solvent methods, GaMD enhanced sampling, Python-based analysis, and VMD visualization. The study's significance lies in revealing structural dynamics insights of IDP regions. Key findings include the average structures of target sequences from k-means clustering analysis. The impact of mutations in alpha-synuclein KTKEGV repeat mutations is also revealed. Mutations introducing hydrophobic residues, like KGV and KLK, increased surface hydrophobicity, with …

Despite the power of the therapeutic alliance in effective therapy and its larger-thanthe- individuals-comprising-it (transpersonal) qualities, the client’s contribution to the therapeutic process has been largely overlooked in both conventional and transpersonal literatures. This study asked 35 transpersonal practitioners, what is the role of the client in transpersonal psychotherapy? The study examined client traits, attitudes and role demands in Jungian therapy, sandplay therapy, dream analysis, guided imagery, regression and hypnotherapy, nondual psychotherapy, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy using inductive thematic analysis. Introduction: Virtually no studies have looked at psychopharmacological combinations as models of the near-death experience (NDE), which is inadequate given the evidently complex neurochemistry occurring near- or at death. An example of such a combination is ‘changa’, a smoked mixture of the psychedelic N,N-DMT and monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)-containing plants, and as such has been referred to as ‘smokable ayahuasca’ (vine of the dead). Only very few studies, yet not systematically, have included experiencers of both NDEs and psychoactive substances. Lotería is a hybrid poetry collection that follows the life of the speaker as a queer, Hispanic transracial adoptee raised by a conservative Catholic family in Central Florida, focusing on their struggle to fit into the binaries assigned to and expected of them across religion, race, gender, and sexuality. This collection is separated into three sections, each expanding on the one before as the speaker journeys through life, exploring their identity and their connection with the world around them. Are Parental Nonstandard Work Schedules A Barrier To Their School Involvement?, Kess Ballentine, Alejandra Ros Pilarz

Parental school involvement is consistently associated with better child development outcomes. Although parental work schedules are expected to shape school involvement, little empirical research examines this relationship. Using nationally representative data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Cohort 2010-11, (N=6,047), we estimated associations between parents’ work schedules and multiple indicators of school involvement. Compared to daytime schedules, flexible variable schedules were associated with more parental school involvement. Working a regular nonstandard schedule or employer-set variable schedule was not associated with school involvement, except that working nights was associated with attending fewer school events. We found limited evidence of heterogeneity …

The viability standard plays an important role in abortion access around much of the United States. In fact, before the Dobbs decision, the viability standard was the constitutional gatekeeper to abortion access and was uniform across the entire nation. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has removed the constitutional right to abortion altogether. The article also highlights the intersection of Standard 303(c) and Standard 303(b)(3), which addresses professional identity formation; discusses opportunities to adapt current curriculum and teaching and create new curricular responses to meet the new accreditation standards and interpretations; and explores ways to resist increasing limitations and find a supportive academic community to sustain hope and resilience.

Postpartum depression is a prevalent condition, and preliminary data suggest that the COVID-19 pandemic further increased its incidence. Building on scholarship that has shown the value of exploring patients’ narratives for diagnosis and treatment, this study examines narratives of recovery in an online support forum, using theories of narrative identity. An online forum with 64 participants suffering from postpartum depression was analyzed according to grounded theory. A thematic analysis uncovered two dominant narratives: the full recovery or inevitable progress narrative, and the cyclical recovery or struggle as norm narrative. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), one in five U.S. adults and one in six U.S. youth experience a mental health illness yearly. Shockingly, 50% of all lifetime mental illnesses begin by the age of 14, and 75% by the age of 24. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese Communist Party prioritized preserving widespread support while inflicting significant damage on Japanese forces despite facing formidable opposition, leading to the development of specific strategies to meet these goals. Ultimately, the Communists’ adoption of guerrilla warfare became the hallmark of their strategy, influencing the post-war perception of Communist success versus Nationalist failure. Extensive research has revealed that the Communists’ guerrilla warfare was overall highly successful, soundly developed, and instrumental in achieving China’s victory over Japan, due to strategies that had proven to have little recourse in combat.

The West Coast Demersal Scalefish Resource (WCDSR) comprises over 100 species that inhabit inshore (20-250 m deep) and offshore ( > 250 m deep) waters of the West Coast Bioregion (WCB; north of Kalbarri to east of Augusta).

The WCB is predominantly a temperate oceanic zone with these waters influenced by the Leeuwin Current that transports warm, low-nutrient water southward along the western edge of the continental shelf.

An obstetric fistula is a hole in the vaginal canal, either to the bladder or the rectum. It is a childbirth complication caused by obstructed, prolonged labor. Sub-Saharan African mothers are particularly vulnerable to fistulas if they are poor, rural living, or young. Additionally, cultural barriers, distrust of Western health facilities, and birthing traditions play a role in the pervasiveness of obstetric fistulas in modernity. A hole in the bladder or rectum leads to loss of control over urination or defecation. In the Book of Mormon, a tree with delicious, sweet fruit appeared in two visions and one parable. Respectively, the tree represents the love of God as seen through the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and symbolizes spiritual growth as one experimentally nourishes faith from a seed.
