Wound healing is a crucial process that underlines the body’s ability to recover and restore damaged tissues. Conventional cotton-based dressings act as a physical barrier between the environment and open wound and are not actively involved in wound healing. This type of dressing can lead to maceration of scab, and infection and can cause pain upon removal. Functionalized nanofibre patches that can accelerate wound healing are being researched worldwide to overcome these challenges. Electrospinning has emerged as the most promising technique for engineering nanofibres for diverse applications. In this study, the wound-healing potential of PVA nanofibres functionalized with different concentrations …

Facial Skin Rejuvenation With Poly-L-Lactic Acid (Plla): Four Case Studies, Stanley Setiawan, Theressia Handayani, Stefani Luziani
Journal of General - Procedural Dermatology and Venereology Indonesia
Background: Facial aging is characterized by the decline and loss of skin structure. Poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biopolymer and biodegradable injection material that functions as a collagen stimulator. This active ingredient works by stimulating the formation of skin collagen after interacting with the PLLA crystal component. The expected final result is an increase in the skin volume with the thickening and increased density of the skin layers due to collagen remodeling. At present, data on the application of PLLA for facial photorejuvenation remains limited.
Case Illustration: Four patients aged 22-49 years old, with different severity of aging, underwent PLLA …

BACKGROUND: Nintedanib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), and fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR). The purpose of the study was to evaluate the response rate for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with mutations in
METHODS: Patients with advanced NSCLC previously treated with platinum-doublet chemotherapy with the above mutations were enrolled. Exclusion criteria included necrotic tumors with invasion of blood vessels, history of recent thromboembolic events, increased risk of bleeding or thrombosis, myocardial infarction, and weight loss >10% within past 6 months. Nintedanib was …

Hubungan Komorbiditas Terhadap Kondisi Akhir Pasien Covid-19 Di Rsud Siti Fatimah Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, Dewie Suranti
Jurnal Epidemiologi Kesehatan Indonesia

Background and Objective: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is poorly responsive to conventional treatment and therefore is among the deadliest cancers. Tumor treating fields (TTFields) delivers low-intensity electrical fields that alternate in direction and frequency to disrupt cell division in cancer cells and has emerged as a potentially effective therapy for PDAC. In this narrative review, we discuss the primary mechanisms of TTFields as well as emerging preclinical and clinical outcomes of this novel technology for PDAC.
Methods: We performed a literature search on PubMed, Clinicaltrials.gov and Google Scholar using the terms “tumor treating fields” and “pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma”. We included …
