Practical experience with modern analytical instruments is an essential component of undergraduate chemistry education, yet access to advanced instruments varies widely among institutions because of differences in available resources. Although size exclusion chromatography (SEC) is extensively used in polymer characterization in both academia and industry, undergraduate students at Montclair State University previously had limited opportunities to gain hands-on experience to this technique. To address this need, a demonstration using a multidetector-equipped Malvern Panalytical OMNISEC system was developed and incorporated into a second-year organic chemistry laboratory course during the 2025–2026 academic year. Black race and Hispanic ethnicity are associated with higher mortality in severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) following hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), though mechanisms remain unclear. We evaluated 796 children with SCID who received nonsibling HCT between 1982 and 2020 using data from the Primary Immune Deficiency Treatment Consortium. Overall survival for Black (aHR 2.47, 95%CI 1.64, 3.71) and Asian/Pacific Islander patients (aHR 1.82, 95%CI 1.00, 3.30) was significantly lower compared with non-Hispanic White patients, while Hispanic patients had lower event-free survival (aHR 1.83, 95%CI 1.27, 2.63) compared with non-Hispanic White patients. This study focuses on the analysis of the magnetohydrodynamic flow of a Maxwell viscoelastic fluid subjected to compression between two parallel plates in the presence of an external magnetic field. Maxwell fluids, belonging to the category of non-Newtonian fluids, are used in numerous applications, including polymer processing, biomedical systems, and industrial fluid transport devices. This article examines pelimau dapur, a Malay post-confinement ritual practised by some families in Kampung Alor Limbat, Terengganu. It investigates how ritual knowledge is transmitted, how natural and processed materials acquire cultural, spiritual, and perceived therapeutic meanings, and how the practice is reshaped by religious, social, healthcare, and material change. The study employed a focused ethnographic case study design involving semi-structured interviews with eight purposively selected participants (two traditional midwives and six women with direct experience of the ritual), together with participant observation, field notes, and visual documentation. Being married is related to better health, but many studies reveal greater health benefits among men relative to women. Some research has indicated that married individuals exhibit decelerated epigenetic age relative to individuals who are not married, but questions remain regarding gender differences therein. The purpose was to investigate gender differences in associations of marital status to epigenetic age (ing) assessed on three clocks/algorithms (PhenoAge, GrimAge, and DunedinPACE).

We report a case of advanced-stage ovarian carcinosarcoma (OCS) with extensive extra-ovarian involvement and widespread high-grade serous carcinoma involving the omentum, bladder, ileal mesentery, and small bowel serosa in a female patient in her mid-40s. This case highlights a rare arrangement of histologic features and disease differentiation. The metastatic sites demonstrated predominantly epithelial high-grade serous carcinoma, while the sarcomatous component was identified in the adnexal tumor and left pelvic sidewall. The presence of neuroendocrine differentiation, however, represents a rare and infrequently reported histopathologic feature. This study examines how gender shapes psychological experience across five of Shakespeare’s major plays: Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Twelfth Night. Existing scholarship treats Shakespeare’s tragic women, tragic men, and comic heroines as separate problems; this article asks whether one framework connects them. Its starting point is the reversal in psychological positions between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth: he resists killing on moral grounds and then grows recklessly violent, while she plans the murder with cold resolve and is later overwhelmed by guilt. Background: Chronic low back pain encompasses heterogeneous mechanical, neuropathic, nociplastic, and myofascial presentations that may reflect distinct neuroimmune mechanisms. We synthesized evidence linking these phenotypes to measurable biological features and clinically relevant treatment strategies.

Methods: We conducted a structured literature search of MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials for studies published from January 2005 through January 2025. Systematic reviews, randomized controlled trials, and mechanistic studies addressing neuroinflammation, glial activation, central sensitization, biomarkers, or imaging were organized according to four clinically relevant pain phenotypes and translational readiness.

Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare ANCA-associated vasculitis characterized by asthma, eosinophilia, and small-vessel vasculitis. Cardiac involvement occurs in up to 62% of cases but is more commonly associated with ANCA-negative disease; MPO-ANCA positivity typically correlates with vasculitic manifestations such as neuropathy and glomerulonephritis rather than isolated cardiomyopathy. We present a 65-year-old man with adult-onset asthma who developed acute dyspnea, markedly elevated high-sensitivity troponin (peak 1980 ng/L), peripheral eosinophilia (peak 1550/mm³), and new left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVEF 30–34%) with normal coronary angiography. Background: Septic arthritis is a rare but potentially fatal complication of intra-articular corticosteroid injection, commonly caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The risk is higher in older adults and those with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), immunosuppression, or a history of recent joint procedures. Diagnostic delay is possible, as non-infectious arthritis can present with similar features. Although rituximab is generally considered safe, rituximab-associated hypogammaglobulinemia may increase susceptibility to severe infections. We report a case of methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) septic arthritis with hematogenous vertebral seeding following intra-articular corticosteroid injection in a patient receiving rituximab therapy.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic dermatologic condition characterized by painful inflammatory nodules, abscesses, and draining sinus tracts, predominantly affecting intertriginous regions and significantly impairing patients' quality of life. These lesions are prone to relapsing, with many patients experiencing painful recurring flares. HS patients frequently visit emergency departments during flares and often end up requiring hospitalization. This may be due to limited access to outpatient dermatologic care. Contrast-associated acute kidney injury (CA-AKI) is a known complication following

coronary angiographic procedures using iodinated contrast media (ICM). The risk of CA-AKI is

multifactorial, dependent largely on estimated glomerular filtration rates. The most important

and accepted hospital-based preventive strategy involves both a reduction of iodinated contrast

and multi-hour pre- and post-intervention normal saline hydration. Because of time constraints,

neither ambulatory surgical centers (ASC), nor outpatient-based laboratories (OBL)

can provide similar degrees of pre- and post-intervention hydration. The utilization of

carbon dioxide (CO₂) imaging, intravascular ultrasonography, and limited iso-osmolar

contrast agents may provide an alternative preventive strategy.

The system passively captures interaction traces from multiple actors - including autonomous agents, semi-automated processes, and human users - as they interact with databases, APIs, and infrastructure endpoints through heterogeneous surfaces. Medical devices — including neural implants, biosignal processors, dementia‑research chips, microfluidic analyzers, wearable diagnostic systems, and many other forms of medical hardware — require extremely stable electrical power, predictable thermal behavior, low‑noise operation, and long‑term reliability. Objective: To investigate predictive factors for seizure recurrence in children with febrile seizures (FS) within a single febrile illness, providing a basis for early clinical identification and preventive measures. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of children with FS admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, Suzhou Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University, from April 2023 to December 2025.
