The development of various neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease has been linked to the fibrillation of various proteins within the brain. Parkinson’s disease is specifically linked to the fibrillation of α-Synuclein. During the fibrillation process, the proteins take the form of oligomers, and exposure to these oligomers has been linked to various cytotoxic and neurotoxic effects. Once the fibrillation process is complete, the fibrils made have been shown to be much less toxic than the oligomer stage. Hematopoietic stem cell transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (HSCT-TMA), characterized by microvascular endothelial damage and severe renal injury, negatively affects HSCT survivorship with high mortality and long-term renal morbidity. After HSCT, innate immunity and inflammation are often dysregulated. The alternative complement pathway (AP) of the innate immune system is overactivated in HSCT-TMA, but the mechanisms of its initiation are poorly described. Complement component C3 of the AP can be cleaved by proteases outside of the AP. The objective of this study was to develop a 1% cidofovir-loaded copaiba oleoresin nanoemulsion and evaluate its potential to enhance topical drug permeability for the treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-associated skin conditions. The formulation combined the antiviral properties of cidofovir with the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial characteristics of copaiba oil to improve drug delivery and therapeutic efficacy.

Nanoemulsions were prepared using a probe sonication method. Seven formulations (F1–F7) with varying compositions were initially evaluated for particle size, polydispersity index (PDI), stability, and transparency. This randomized controlled trial with repeated measures aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated application supported MBCT program in reducing depression among adolescents with NSSI. The sample consisted of 96 participants who met the inclusion criteria and were randomly assigned to either the experimental group or control group, with 48 participants in each group. The experimental group received the program, was developed based on the MBCT framework proposed by Segal et al. (2013) once a week for 60 minutes over eight weeks. The 2024 Doctor of Medicine curriculum at Chulalongkorn University introduced a new assessment system comprising outcome-based assessment system with milestones, a non-tiered grading model with recognition of excellence, a professional development dashboard (PDD), remediation with re-examination, and a faculty-level student profile (FLSP). This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, complemented by a sequential exploratory element, to compare student and faculty perspectives using a questionnaire across five themes, analyzed with descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U tests, and effect sizes (ES). Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has revolutionized the treatment of B-cell malignancies. Nevertheless, relapse due to loss of CD19 expression remains a major clinical challenge. CD22 serves as an alternative target because of its consistent expression on malignant B cells, even in CD19-negative disease. Optimization of CD22-directed CAR design is therefore critical to enhance antitumor potency and persistence. Two novel anti-CD22 CAR constructs were generated from monoclonal antibody clones 24A7G6 and 29H9C8, each incorporating either a 4-1BB or CD28 costimulatory domain. This study aims to investigate the theory of planned behaviour, as well as social stigma and self-stigma as extended factors, in predicting help-seeking intention. Help-seeking intention was measured through the intention to use free-of-charge mental health services provided by the university. A potentiometric aptasensor was developed for the rapid and label-free detection of Escherichia coli (E. coli), a major food- and water-borne pathogen of public health concern. The sensor utilized a laser-induced graphene (LIG) electrode fabricated by laser engraving on a polyimide substrate, followed by modification with an ion marker, coating with a carboxylated poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC–COOH) membrane, and immobilization of an E. coli-specific aptamer. This research focuses on the development of two biopolymer-based colorimetric platforms for ammonia detection in environmental water and gaseous samples. To detect ammonia in water samples, an agarose hydrogel membrane containing salicylate, hypochlorite, and sodium nitroprusside was incorporated into a flow analysis system to perform the Berthelot reaction within the gel. Ammonium in the sample was converted to monochloramine in an alkaline reagent stream, and its subsequent interaction with the sensing membrane yielded an indosalicylate blue chromophore, causing the gel to change from pale yellow to green–blue as the ammonia concentration increased. As autonomous artificial intelligence agents ("Agents") become increasingly prevalent in society, legal frameworks must evolve to govern their behavior effectively. This article argues that autonomous AI agents must be understood as operating within complex ecosystems of other agents, humans, institutions, and actual biological ecosystems-similar to how biological organisms exist within broader ecosystems. Drawing on established research in multi-agent systems and environmental law, we propose that effective governance of AI agents requires moving beyond just regulation on individual agents to include system-level approaches. A deluge of federal and state legislation in recent years aims to channel maltreated children removed from parents’ custody into kin placements, responding to advocates for parents who claim this is categorically better for children than entering or remaining in foster care with biologically unrelated caregivers. The claim has romantic appeal, sufficient to beguile legislators. But the research on outcomes for children in different post-removal placements does not support it. In the wake of the Dobbs decision overturning the right to abortion, now is a critical time to re-assess how legal feminism theorizes the pregnant body. Before Dobbs, feminist legal scholarship had blazed a path of anti-maternalism, a stance rooted in liberal, formalist notions of equality that denigrates the “feminine” and too often minimizes the importance of reproductive issues both as tools of sex-based subordination in the present and as foundations for liberation in the future. This capstone project aimed to strengthen IPE at SJSU by assessing institutional capacity and developing feasible, sustainable strategies to enhance exposure and participation across health-related programs. Acute radiation syndrome (ARS) occurs when hematopoietic or gastrointestinal cells are damaged by radiation exposure causing DNA damage to the bone marrow and gastrointestinal epithelial stem cell populations. In these highly proliferative cell types, DNA damage inhibits stem cell repopulation. In humans and animals, this inability to regenerate stem cells is lethal. Within this manuscript, several compounds, Amifostine, Captopril, Ciprofloxacin, PrC-210, 5-AED (5-androstene-3β,17β-diol), and 5-AET (5-androstene-3β,7β,17B-triol), are assessed for their ability to protect against ARS in an in vitro and/or in vivo setting.
