Telehealth utilization has increased dramatically since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many positive impacts of this shift to telehealth, including increasing access to care and reducing patient burden. However, healthcare providers report several consistent challenges that limit their ability to deliver telehealth, such as effective communication, technological difficulties, and difficulty performing physical examinations. Emotion dysregulation, or responses to emotions that do not meet the needs of the situational demands or social standards, has been noted as an early risk factor for later psychopathology. Maternal postpartum depression (PPD) has been shown to increase children’s risk of developing maladaptive emotion regulation (ER) strategies. One potential mechanism linking PPD to these outcomes is affect incongruence, or a mismatch between biological and emotional responses to stress. While such incongruence may be adaptive in older individuals who consciously mask their internal stress (e.g., suppressing biological arousal while appearing calms), it may be maladaptive in infants and young children …

This survey reviews recent advances in applying reinforcement learning (RL) to enable dynamic and ballistic motions in legged robots, including running, jumping, stair climbing, and parkour. Focusing on high-agility behaviors that challenge traditional control frameworks, we categorize foundational locomotion tasks and highlight the RL methods, such as Proximal Policy Optimization, curriculum learning, and hybrid model-based strategies that have proven effective. We discuss the key challenges in transferring learned policies to real-world robots, managing uncertainty, and integrating perception and proprioception. My thesis work explores the intersections of masculine and feminine labors as they relate to the structure of domestic space. I utilize materials and processes akin to craft, construction and architecture, and domicile upkeep, noting what is shared between gendered and polarized fields while exploring uses of the grid in various instances as a structure to adhere to and antagonize: a binary. While blackface is considered the first proper form of American theater, I want to consider how the auction of enslaved Africans functioned as the original form of American theater. The auction block acted as a kind of interactive performance in which enslaved bodies were surveilled and evaluated as a kind of spectacle. This study aims to determine droplet deposition resulting from dynamic change in payloads and flight speeds of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) during operation. The study was conducted at Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Malaysia. The Advansia A1 hexacopter was first set to fly at combinations of 3 payloads (3.3, 6.6, and 9.9 kg) with 3 flight speeds (3, 5 and 7 m/s) to collect individual rotor RPM, which will later be used to set the rotors’ speed during indoor testing experiment. The reuse of treated wastewater is increasingly recognized as a sustainable solution to address global water shortage. This study investigates the effectiveness of a persulfate-based advanced oxidation process (AOP) using sodium persulfate (Na2S2O8) activated by ferrous sulfate (FeSO4) as a tertiary treatment for secondary effluents. Real municipal wastewater was collected from Agouzain Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. A Box Benkhen design (BBD) was employed to optimize three key variables: FeSO4 dose (0.5–2.0 g/L), Na2S2O8 dose (0.5–2.0 g/L), and pH (3.0–9.0), with total organic carbon (TOC) removal as the main response. This study explored the relationship between supervisor support and job satisfaction, offering work-life balance and perceived employability as key mechanisms through which this relationship occurs. It also explored gender differences in the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction, and perceived employability and job satisfaction. Participants were full-time employees in the U.S, recruited via Prolific, who completed an online survey. While supervisor support was found to have positively influenced job satisfaction through perceived employability, the role of work-life balance was less clear. A previous study demonstrated noninferior efficacy of 4-month rifapentine/moxifloxacin regimen for tuberculosis (TB) treatment compared with the standard regimen. We explored results among study participants with diabetes. Among 2,516 randomized participants, 181 (7.2%) had diabetes. Of 166 participants with diabetes in the microbiologically eligible analysis group, 26.3% (15/57) had unfavorable outcomes in the control regimen, 13.8% (8/58) in the rifapentine/moxifloxacin regimen, and 29.4% (15/51) in the rifapentine regimen. The difference in proportion of unfavorable outcomes between the control and rifapentine/moxifloxacin arms in the microbiologically eligible analysis group was -12.5% (95% CI -27.0% to 1.9%); the difference between the control and …

Alcohol-induced organ damage is a major global health concern and a leading cause of disability and mortality. In addition to the liver, chronic alcohol consumption adversely affects multiple organ systems, including the cardiovascular and neuromuscular systems, the gastrointestinal tract, adipose tissue, kidneys, pancreas, and the brain. Organ damage begins with necrosis (cell death) followed by tissue injury, which triggers immune responses aimed at tissue repair. However, with continued heavy drinking, these reparative responses transition into inflammatory responses which exacerbate tissue injury and accelerate disease progression. This growing challenge necessitates a strategic rethinking of pathogen control, prompting the integration of next-generation therapeutics capable of disrupting Salmonella pathogenesis through novel, antibiotic-sparing mechanisms. In the 1980s, the concept of "Battered Woman Syndrome" (BWS) was introduced into U.S. courtrooms, typically as a defense in homicide cases where survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) killed their abusers. Traditional BWS theories largely center around psychological not physiological impacts of IPV Since then, researchers have begun to recognize the prevalence of brain injuries (BIs) in IPV survivors.

Stat. section 50-13, to require the court to consider a child’s preference as to their custody arrangements to further align with legal precedent. Transcription is a highly conserved process that lies at the very center of biology. As in the other two domains of the tree of life, bacterial transcription is a multistep process. In the first step, RNA polymerase (RNAP) contacts with the promoter DNA are established and then must be broken for the enzyme to transition into the elongation phase of RNA production; a process known as promoter escape. Current influenza trends, including the severity of the 2025 flu season and the prevalence of H5 bird flu in livestock, necessitate efforts to better understand how to educate students about its transmission. Although validated assessments of influenza knowledge exist, these have not been evaluated for affective and demographic biases. We explore differential item functioning (DIF) effects in four items focused on specific aspects of flu transmission derived from a validated influenza knowledge assessment. Extracting patient subpopulations (clinically relevant cohorts of individuals who share overlapping symptoms, risk factors, or diagnostic criteria) from unstructured medical notes is an ongoing challenge due to the variability of clinical language and the complex nature of patient conditions. We demonstrate a pipeline that combines named entity recognition (NER), transformer embeddings, guided dimensionality reduction, and LLM-mediated knowledge graph integration to enhance patient extraction. The approach begins with NER using the UMLS metathesaurus [1] to extract clinical terms, followed by transformation into vector embeddings using a biomedical transformer. This thesis explores the lives and careers of botanical painter Marianne North, landscape architect Beatrix Farrand, and literary nature writer Mary Hunter Austin to examine the interplay of femininity and the representation of nature in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. All three figures had an approach to environmental representation which was based in field work, knowing a place truly, and a sense of harmony between subject and context of the produced work. The transformation of crisp data into neutrosophic triplets {T, I, F}—known as neutrosophication—is crucial for applying neutrosophic models in real-world analysis. However, comparative evaluations of existing neutrosophication methods remain limited. Poor adherence to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) strains individuals, families, and the healthcare systems, with rising relapses at the project site highlighting the need for evidence-based intervention. Studies show that contingency management (CM), a behavioral intervention that incentivizes desired behaviors, improves adherence to MOUD.
