Despite lacking a nervous system and other features typically associated with animals, plants can see, smell, hear, feel, learn, remember, and act similarly to animals. Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) aliphatic polymers however efficiently biodegradable, still pose a contradiction with the principles of green chemistry. Use of bacterial strains capable of degrading synthetic plastics for the production of biopolymers i.e., PHAs may aid in reduction of plastic pollution. Bacterial strains PWA; Bacillus subtilis (MH142143), PWF; Bacillus tequilensis (MH142145), and PWG; Bacillus safensis (MH142146) were grown on waste shredded PET and PET flakes. Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), also referred to as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, is an acquired form of thrombocytopenia caused by antibodies directed against platelet glycoproteins, particularly anti-GpIIb/IIIa antibodies. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a herpes virus infecting a large majority of the population before adulthood, has been implicated in various immune-mediated disorders, including ITP. In this report, we present a case of a young adult female with a history of thrombocytopenia who was found to have severe thrombocytopenia attributed to chronic EBV infection.
